Title Yesterday
For those who are confused, here's how I understand it so far:

Most of the story is a giant flashback.

At the beginning and at the end of each episode we see a bit of the present time in which Veir has been kidnapped by Kelvin and is being held captive.

The central part of each episode (which is most of it) shows us the past, and tells us the story of how Veir and Kelving got to know each other, and how their relationship evolved over time.

At some point both past and present should meet, and then we'll know how they ended up in the present situation of Veir being held captive by Kelvin, and what will happen from then on.

Since some characters from season 1 won't be appearing on season 2 (Pete, for example), it seems they decided to go for an alternative universe retelling of Tin and Can's story. As season 2 is an alternative universe, some things are happening/happened differently from season 1. In season 2 Tin and Can met in a different way, some time after Pete and Ae broke up. It would had been hard for them to follow the novels the same way as in season 1 because one of the main characters (Pete) won't be present, so they need a different explanation for some events in which Pete was involved. Even with the changes, Pete and Ae's story from season 1 is almost intact (and actually still follow the novels because in the novels they break up and are apart for 3 years as Pete goes to Europe with his father) and what happened is that the chronology for Tin and Can's relationship changed along some events related to them.
I think, given the circumstances (mainly with Saint not being able to play Pete for the time being), that an alternative universe version for season 2 is a better option than trying to force a continuation from season 1. I have high hopes for this AU season of LBC! :)
