? WHEN THE BOSS DISCOVERS HIS MOST VALUABLE EMPLOYEE
OVERALL IMPRESSION🌟
This was a refreshing workplace romance with an unusual and entertaining beginning. The ML secretly entered his struggling company as an ordinary employee, only for the FL to immediately teach him how to slack off—the poor man had salt rubbed directly into his wound! What initially appeared to be a comedy about an unproductive employee gradually became a satisfying story about a talented woman reclaiming the confidence and recognition others had stolen from her. The romance was sweet and natural, but the FL’s professional growth remained the true heart of the drama.
WHAT I LIKED💖
• The ML initially wanted to fire the FL, but he took the time to investigate before judging her completely. He soon discovered that she had once been a core employee whose ideas and hard work helped her boyfriend become general manager.
• I loved the FL’s fighting spirit. She knew that the ex and SFL held more authority than she did, but she still refused to surrender without trying to expose them and reclaim what belonged to her.
• The ML recognised the FL’s genuine ability and gradually helped her rebuild the confidence those two had destroyed. The ex discarded the woman who built his career, while his own CEO discovered precisely how valuable she was—what satisfying karma!
• The relationship developed naturally. The leads began almost like friends, became comfortable working together and gradually developed stronger feelings. The FL was neither terrified of the ML nor excessively shy around him, while he never bullied or treated her as inferior.
• I appreciated the ML’s restraint and respect. Even when both leads were drugged and strongly attracted to one another, he did not take advantage of her. Their kisses still made it obvious that controlling his feelings was becoming increasingly difficult!
• The ML came down to the FL’s level, sincerely helped her complete her wish list and supported her without attempting to control her. His affection felt considerate rather than forceful.
• The ML’s sister was adorable! She protected the FL, genuinely enjoyed her company and enthusiastically supported her relationship with her brother.

• I would have enjoyed more scenes devoted specifically to the leads and their developing romance. Their natural chemistry deserved additional time.
• The FL endured considerable workplace bullying while her ideas and achievements were repeatedly stolen. Although this was necessary for her growth, the injustice could still become frustrating.
• The family conflict added another layer to the FL’s struggles, but certain relatives felt more like obstacles than fully developed characters.
• The arrogant SFL was entertainingly delusional. She believed seducing influential men made her clever, but she lacked the talent, intelligence and problem-solving ability required to succeed through her own merit.
PRODUCTION AND PERFORMANCES🎭
• Liu Ying’s performance stood out most for me. She brought tremendous life to the FL and convincingly portrayed both her laid-back humour and the hardworking, capable woman hidden beneath her apparent indifference.
• Zhang Zhi Wei and Liu Ying shared relaxed, believable chemistry. Their interactions felt comfortable and natural rather than exaggerated, which suited the friends-to-lovers development beautifully.
• The pacing remained fast without making the story feel overly chaotic. The lighthearted comedy, awkward romantic moments and workplace conflict were balanced well.
• The drama felt pleasantly natural because the ML did not behave like an abusive, overbearing CEO, while the FL succeeded through honest work and genuine ability rather than simply benefiting from his status.
