I think it was obvious Noey was lying the way his face changed, I could tell his heart was breaking too when he was looking at Thi's smiling face and his own eyes wavering.
It didn't even make sense. One minute he wanted to kiss Thi, and the next he was breaking up with him.
In the novel Noey waited 2 years before seeing Thi again. So they might do the same here. Noey getting into a good university and they start a relationship. I have another theory. They might show Noey going to Chiang Mai and tell Thi that he was lying and still loves Thi so they make up and decide to wait for each without any misunderstandings and then we can get S2 that way to show them in a relationship. But it's all speculation haha!

I didn't complete the novel but saw the spoilers in a book review. Thi's parents were against Noey dating Thi but once they saw Noey put in the hard work, they didn't bother them anymore. Also Noey didn't break up with Thi. He just promised to work hard and finally went to see Thi to show him that he has done well and got into a good university. Thi is proud of him and they are together. In the novel, they were separated for 2 years.

What Thi's parents said was out of pocket but I am glad Aunty Tim didn't escalate the situation then it would've meant even more problems for Thi and Noey's relationship in future

It's not easy tbh. It's an example of classic asian parenting and I have seen so many friends not go after what they want because of controlling parents. And honestly, studying further is not a bad thing. Many couples separate for a few years to study somewhere else that's normal. However, I think what Noey said to Thi was unnecessary because Thi was ready for a long distance thing. It was Noey's insecurity and self sacrificing that pushed Thi away.
Of course in the novel the separation was different. They just added the last part of Noey for more drama.

I think she just wanted to save face for Noey's sake and didn't want to be disrespectful to the guest. In Thai culture guests are given utmost importance but NidNhoi doesn't care haha! But you can tell why Thi grew up to be so timid. His parents probably were overprotective and controlling all aspects of his life. Not many parents are like Aunt Tim.
