Too mellow for a revenge story

Revenge plot ... My ass !!!
I don't generally give rude reviews but ..well .. this show was so disoriented and disordered in all its aspects that I just can't help it.
Okay first I love a fast to atleast moderate paced story ( my personal preference) ..just can't deal with the beating around the BUTT story that reflects low level creativity of the writer ..
Secondly I hate to see why most writers want to convey the message of forgiveness instead to straight justice ..I mean ..the husband killed and buries her alive..cause crises to her family that led to their deaths, he even ruined her character by planting a naked man in her bed ...and yet she was asking him if he wants a second chance ... If i were in this FL place I would have dragged this despicable man by his hair and thrown into the gates of hell ...
That's why I don't like these half-assed revenge plots .. most writers don't have the caliber to justify such plots but they write anyway huh !! They were even playing a romantic background song in this murderer husband's scenes ... đŸ€źđŸ€źđŸ€źđŸ˜’ I mean can you believe this.

The FL temperament was so out the place with the plot. Her ways of escaping teg trouble is too lame .. the writer created a nonsensical phatasm that you can solve any issue as long as you are look decent and are eloquent

There is no proper strategy she is just sailing the ship around arguments like ' you need to understand if you do this you will be responsible for that ..and if you do that you will be scared of this .. blah blah blah ' ..every one in the town is manipulated by her this and that theory/threats. I wonder if the writer thinks as long as you can give some this against some that theory in your argument you might as well be able to avoid a world war.

And most importantly even if you have to make things so ugly you can drop a hint in first five episodes so people can drop it on time ..why dragging it all the way to 30 episodes and end up offering a second chance ( though husband lived up to my expectations and rejected the chance )

And then you actually wrap up the sweet revenge within last 5 episodes ... As if people were here for the melodrama

If I have to summarise this one was too mellow for my taste in revenge plots ... Even low budget drama are doing better than this.

Asian financial crises, slush funds and an undercover probe

The plot is closely based on the 1997 Asian financial crisis and its ripple effects on the South Korean economy. This drama will likely appeal to viewers who have a keen interest in global financial history and the economic ups and downs that shape societies. Otherwise, it may feel a bit exhausting, since it is not your typical office romance or anything remotely similar. I suppose this also explains its relatively low viewership numbers, though not necessarily its ratings.

As far as the pacing is concerned, the first half was quite slow, with too much screen time spent on unnecessary scenes. The story only began to gain some real momentum around episode 11. At times, it felt as if the writer did not have enough strong material and instead stretched the narrative with filler moments, such as a lengthy birthday celebration captured through camcorder recordings.

Park Shin Hye delivered a solid performance as always, though this was certainly not her best work. Whenever she flashed that signature smile, it often felt forced and slightly out of place, occasionally giving off secondhand embarrassment, though that might just be my personal impression. On the other hand, Haan Yoon Kyung was my favorite among the cast. Her appearance, acting skills, and the character she portrayed were all impressive. That said, I do not think there was any weak link in the cast, and even the child actress did a commendable job.

I particularly appreciated how thoughtfully the story navigated the lives and struggles of career-driven women, showing them building meaningful bonds with one another while deliberately avoiding the predictable old-flame rekindling cliché, which felt refreshing. Still, I wish the writers had incorporated more chess sequences into the heist segment to heighten the strategic tension.

Overall, it was a good watch.

my Little bro is picky, it's dead to anyone but her ~ Xu Si'An

A.K.A. back to you, my violet Love ... i highly recommend this drama to all short rom-com drama fans .. the story is clean, the characters are loveable and the ending is satisfactory.
so the plot tells tale of couple that broke up due to some special circumstances and misunderstanding the girl had about the boy.. she dumps him and back away without proper explanation. four year later he is back for revenge .. like not 'revenge' revenge but 'i-will-follow-you-until-you-take-me-back 'revenge. So, he joins her joins company as CEO, promoting her as his personal assistant and start being pain in her a$$. As the time pass the feeling reignite and they rekindle their love after various trials. The best thing about this story was instead of a proper break-up it seemed like they were into a 4-years long couple fight; cause even after 4 years apart , she kept dreaming of him; he kept her, the sole heir of his heritance all this time. apart from this for a mini drama format the plot offers many shades of emotion , there is psychological pain, regrets, longing, fear of pursuing what heart desires, trauma, blind love, screwed parent-child relation, and a lot more.
chemistry between Lin Feng Song and tan yanyan was amazing. Lin Feng Song indeed surprised me .. he was so adorable .. a walking green flag ... tan yanyan added her own charm to the recipe.
~Definitely a must-watch.

Sweeeeeeettttt

Story of a girl who paints portraits for the government and private clients, forced to swap her face with the prime minister's daughter to marry the general in her place. The plot is spot on .. zero BS .. story moves with a consistent pace unfurling every secret one after another without dragging too much. Ying ke and cheng lei did a good job ..their chemistry was sweet ... Actually it's Ying ke who would look cute irrespective of what role she plays whereas cheng lei is known to sport his gentleman's persona the best... Their pairing gave a real couple-like vibe .... nothing too steamy or flashy just organic romance between husband and wife anchoring you emotionally and deeply. Side cast added their fair share to the story as well.
The ending was satisfactory with a side twist nobody asked for, but overall the drama is very much enjoyable.

Watching cheng lei in such low production dramas tells you a lot about his journey as an artist... I am glad he is doing good budget and full length series as ML now.

Bailu and dylan Wang could've created history together , but ....

This drama already has so countless reviews posted by viewers .. so I don't know if I can add anything groundbreaking, So instead of a formal review I will pour my personal thoughts about the cast , characters and plot .. if we have something in common then good otherwise we aren't missing out on anything anyway.

Honestly, seeing Bai Lu and Dylan Wang together felt like dream casting for many fans, including me And acting wise, they delivered better than my expectations... Their chemistry was good, and visually they fit the roles perfectly. but ... A drama can't really survive without a good story line (actually calling it a storyline is a sin) .. if leads are the face of a drama body ..the storyline is its backbone Unfortunately, the backbone here was painfully weak.
in fact I am not convinced it was written by a mature person. It felt almost like an eight grader early teenager writing her romantic fantasies later being polished and turned into a script.
The corporate background especially made little sense.. like the drama has a modern corporate romance but the way this aspect is exploited to the point of ridiculing viewers' intellect was so audacious... I mean Five women from a finance magazine somehow end up paired with five men from a single venture capital company. The odds were so ridiculous it felt like the rest of the professional world vanished in an apocalypse and only these ten people survived. Even after forcing this setup, the romance still lacked depth.

The business side was equally unconvincing. There was barely any understanding of corporate etiquette or how the finance world actually works. Endless meetings filled with repetitive deal talk and exaggerated praise were apparently meant to represent venture capital work. It felt more like a surface-level imitation of the corporate world rather than a believable setting.

I hoped the characters might redeem the story, but sadly that wasn’t the case. The FL, who was initially introduced as smart and career-focused, ends up throwing away her dignity just to get revenge on a useless ex. The ML constantly fails to communicate clearly and drags a misunderstanding for far too long. A best friend who keeps screwing the ML's best friend but asks the FL to deceive the ML with her fake act of love destroying her love life multiple times on multiple occasions , lastly portrayed as a very good and supporting friend...you kid me not!!

In the end, the cast was fantastic, but the characters they were given were so weak and inconsistent that it took away the very charm of it. And when the writing collapses like that, even the best actors cannot completely save the drama. 🎭

Excellent chemistry

Zuo yi and wang Nan have delivered so many masterpieces together, so it wasn't surprising to see the level of the chemistry they share, which was the highlight of the show , at this point their comfort around each looked very obvious on the screen. Apart from this, the depth of psychological aspect of the plot i.e. FL having those creepy hallucinations and its reflection in her art style was quite intense .. honestly speaking if it were written like a long format drama under Good budget production it would've gotten so much more recognition. I was satisfied with the main actors' act but the side cast especially the FL foster family members were horrible. Plus I really felt FL's planning to reach out to ML and using him in her revenge plan wasn't explored properly .. I mean the plan execution of her plan and its working in the way she wanted seemed a bit superficial and rushed.. it was as if she hit the jackpot in her first attempt .. but then this was short format drama there wasn't much screet time to add layers to the story ... Overall a good, satisfactory and refreshing watch.

Overall a good revenge plot if you can just ignore the unnecessary overacting parts

Time travel + dream travel

Alright !!!! So This is another “travel and reborn in the past” story, but with few twists. Here, the protagonist is an archaeologist researching a tyrant king and the tragic end of his dynasty. She suddenly travels back in time and wakes up as his notorious evil concubine. What makes this story stand out is that the female lead doesn’t end up as a weak or bullied woman like in most similar plots.+ Instead, she’s someone powerful, feared, and already influential ~~~~~~ which means no boring palace catfights at the start. 😌

Infact The writer uses that space to build better mystery, for which he/she added an interesting “dream travel” element where the male lead can enter people’s dreams and uncover their secrets just by touching their heads. Cool .... !!! Mind reading sort of thing ..
The plot feels heavy for the short format but not confusing or overwhelming. It also touches on issues like sick ancient rituals, the unfair treatment of women in harem system , and how marriage defined a woman’s worth back then.

The cast is great , Wen Mo Yan delivers as always, and Wu Ji Feng was a perfect choice for the male lead. Music and styling are average.
The only weak spot is the unclear link between the male lead’s mother in the two timelines.

Still, it’s a refreshing and well-executed drama that kept me hooked till the end.

Surprisingly inspiring

Story of a girl who stood up alone and slapped hierarchy and patriarchy right across the face (metaphorically
 but I wish literally).

Le Yao is a village girl who gets humiliated, betrayed, and ultimately killed by her “best friend”/maid and crooked in-laws. She’s reborn a month before her death (yup, traitor bestie respawns too cause the universe said let’s run it back). With a second chance in hand, she is willing to level up with strategies not tears.

There are tons of rebirth-revenge plots out there, but I only appreciate the ones where the FL actually uses her brain. I don’t want those stories where the lead voluntarily walks into 30 slaps, 12 torture sessions, 5 public humiliations, and sacrifices entire army “for the sake of revenge.” ..Huh! So inefficient..Boring!

This FL?? She is smart.. top tier strategist ..she got punished only one time (hurt her fingers) and lost a lady member of her team but at the expense of this her comeback was an absolute blockbuster. Her schemes planning and her unwavering focus on her goal .... Simple wow ... I loved how the ML started taking dictation from her from a very early stage totally succumbing to her intelligence and wisdom ... And this is the reason why she wasn't just loved but respected and worshiped by this sigma man. Nice chemistry.

Reading the reviews here I was a bit sceptical but This drama got almost 900 thousand views in a single month on you tube( compilation video) ... I guess figure speak louder than words but even the comments are positive.

The ending was a bit anticlimactic, I won’t lie but it’s fine. I wasn’t planning on giving it a full 10/10 anyway.

Where is the plot in this

There’s honestly not much of a plot to even title here.. this was more like filler plot. The so-called backstory is just 2+2 mins tiny flashbacks ~~ one about the emperor’s death and another about the FL’s dead general lover. That’s it. After that, it turns into a full Big Brother reality show: the empress dowager bickering with concubines, the FL flirting with pretty boys, and endless confusing, beating-around-the-bush conversations with the ML.

Continuity?hardly any ...the transitions are messy. It feels like scenes were chopped out, because the end of one episode never properly continues into the next, writer has left it to your wisdom to connect the dots.

The cast was actually great though. Richard, Zehui, and Yiyao are all good-looking and talented. They did their jobs well, even if the script didn’t exactly help them much.

The BGM was decent. Nothing grammy worthy.

The ending was satisfying overall
I mean what else were you expecting from this ... Even the last 2-min episode was wasted on ML crying ... Seriously was it even necessary.
Well I would've rated it high if this story had some concrete content.

Sweet ... Simple... Surprisingly Satisfying..

It's a sweet... light-hearted drama about a married couple who divorce after a series of misunderstandings, only to slowly rekindle their romance. Meng Na and Jian Qi, as always, brought their best to the screen. Their chemistry felt warm and fluffy ,.. full of respect, care, and a quiet kind of love that shows even in their playful banter đŸ„°đŸ„°

Honestly, they looked so visually appealing together that a few plot loopholes were easy to forgive.

I also loved the styling: Jian Qi absolutely rocked that red-burgundy hair, and Meng Na’s wardrobe 👗 was chef’s kiss... classy, modern, and perfectly curated.

Overall, it was an enjoyable, feel-good watch.🙂🙃

I was rooting for SML ..

This drama was honestly such a delightful surprise. With Li Jiu Lin and Fang Tong as leads, i was expecting a good entertainment, and thankfully, the writer also remain committed .... The story has a bit of everything ~~ action, romance, comedy, suspense, even a sprinkle of mystery.... and it’s all paced really well. Nothing drags for too long except the main conspiracy, which BTW stays interesting till the end. There are a few loopholes in the case-solving parts where some dots just
don’t connect, but it’s easy to overlook because the rest flows so smoothlyyyyy..

Now, about the cast ~ Fang Tong and Jiu Lin were not the pairing I expected to work I mean never in my eldest dreams had I imagined them working together, yet they pulled it off beautifully. Their chemistry wasn’t ..... Ummmm!!! EXPLOSIVE ..., but their performances felt real, seasoned and grounded. Still, I can’t lie , the second male lead totally stole my heart đŸ«¶. He was charming, funny, caring, and loyal, with the perfect mix of softness and strength.... And most importantly FL seems more like herself when she is around him.. huhhhhh!! Her choice definitely disappointed me.... the SML deserved that win for once!

As for the BGM is kinda unique, for sure, though not everyone’s cup of tea.
Overall, it’s a light, engaging drama that leaves you smiling by the end. What else can you ask for ... !!!

Enjoyable if you keep the logic out

Enjoyable but this drama felt like it was written by an 8-year-old during summer breaks. The FL is a writer who somehow ends up inside her own novel and has to complete 10 missions to return to the real world. As per the original script, She is supposed to have a problematic married life with Her husband, the ML,who suddenly gets the ability to read her mind, and eventually falls for her instead.

Now here’s the funny part ... throughout the show, there are a dozen moments when the FL should realize he can read her mind, but nope, the writer just kept avoiding the logic conveniently.
I guess calling it a “parody” instead of a “proper drama” is the only way to justify it.
Then the acting didn’t help either
FL actress's acting was extremely bad ..I mean from over acting to flat reactions you say the word.
she managed to hit every note on the “bad acting” scale. The ML wasn’t terrible, but definitely not saving the show either.
Dialogue writing is good ...the way ML and his lackey make meaning out of modern words was hilarious.

~~ The show ends on a “wait for season 2” cliffhanger.
Well, they can wait all they want, I’m not watching it. 😅

Swapped sedan swapped soulmates (kinda!)

Excuse me !!!! but I am writing a lazy review for this one . đŸ„±đŸ„±

Pretty cute premise — two girls are about to be married to their respective partners, but their bride sedans get exchanged, and they end up at the wrong places. At this point, I thought this was going to turn out like The Starry Love — I mean, the bad boy-good girl and good boy-bad girl combo... but not really.đŸ˜”

The FFL was supposed to marry a general but ends up in a noble/feudal lord-type family, while the SFL, who was meant to be the daughter-in-law of that family, gets married to the general instead. Either way, they both end up finding the love of their lives through these mistaken marriages.đŸ«Ą

Plot holes: đŸ•łïž
There’s very little development in their love stories. It looks rushed — the way they fall for each other so quickly doesn't feel natural. In the case of the second couple too, they meet around the 7th-ish episode, and their love story starts right away.

Cast:
Both Ao and Tian are my faves, but they seem a little green in this drama. There’s a lot of overacting and forced chemistry. Honestly, they look less like a couple and more like siblings — the “big brother teasing little sister” kind of vibe (I’ve never used this statement for any couple before, so if I’m saying this, you know it’s serious). Their dynamic just doesn’t ring a 🔔

The second couple started a bit late. Sure, there was a spark, but first, the SML entered relatively late into the plot, and second, the SFL had to pretend to be a man around him. There was an “understanding” kind of love, but nothing passionate. His role as a general is emphasized way too much. He wasn't even present to receive his bride when she arrived — but here's the kicker: both his previous wives died under tragic circumstances, and he was absent both times. That got me thinking... I shouldn't expect a good romance from such a flat character — and I was right! 😔

Extras:
BGM was okay. Styling was your regular, predictable period drama fare. The plot got duller with each passing episode. Too much emphasis on the family business of the FML, and while I was genuinely looking forward to FFL’s martial arts moves
I wasn’t served to my satisfaction.

Overall: Just so-so.

Even With all its clichĂšs still enjoyable

Nothing sort of a blockbuster here just a cute office/modern romance plot which is sweet but twin sisters' cliche ...sweet but hidden identity cliche ...sweet but pushover FL cliche ...sweet but accidental kiss cliche ... Sweet but side couple one night stand cliche ... sweet but long list childhood friends cliche .... Sweet but green tea back from his past cliche ... Sweet but grandma wants to marry him cliche ...sweet but abusive father cliche ... With all these overriding clichĂšs this was still a good pick for my Saturday night binge watching .. mediocre in terms of acting... average in terms of writing...cringe in terms of dialogue and sometimes even awkward in terms of expressions. Music was okay but easily forgettable.

Rating: 2/10 — One point for Luo Z, and one for the patience I somehow managed to have.

I usually begin my reviews with a short plot introduction, but in this case, I need to address the utterly nonsensical female lead first.

Let’s start with a question: what would you do if your future self came back and warned you about the biggest mistakes of your life—mistakes that would cost you your mother’s life, your daughter’s life, your happiness, and everything you hold dear?

The obvious and sane answer would be to listen to your future self and avoid those mistakes, right?

But no—this pig-headed female lead has a completely different perspective. And what does this idiot say to her future self? “You’ve lived your life to the fullest. There was no one to stop you from doing what you wanted. Even if it’s a mistake, I still want to do it.”

For context, the mistake she’s so hell-bent on making is marrying a scumbag who was screwing her bestie while sending her flowers. In the future, this man steals her entire family inheritance, abandons their sick daughter (yes, the same one she had with him), and makes a new baby with that same bestie.

Holy crap—I felt so disgusted with this female lead. It’s like she’s willing to risk everything just to be laid by this absolute trash of a man.Yuck ! đŸ€ą
Even after receiving repeated danger signals from this walking red flag and multiple warnings from her future self, she still ends up marrying him, only to discover, he was only after her money yeah!!! Hallelujah!!!! ladies and gentlemen!! đŸ€Ł

"When your lustful goals (will not call it love, that is too degrading), hijack the basic human compassion in your mind this is the obvious output you should be expecting." I personally wanted her to face worse.

Moving forward, this drama has a negligible amount of love or romance. The male lead shows up only in the last two episodes—and even then, he’s just lurking on the sidelines. For the rest of the show, it’s the female lead inside the male lead’s body, guiding her past self through all the mess she created.

Luo Z was good—both as his original character and as the FL’s future self. Though honestly, he could’ve added a few more layers of femininity to make it more convincing.

As for the FL? Below average, hands down. I don’t know if it’s this disastrous role that’s made me unconsciously biased against her, but I couldn’t find a single thing I liked—neither her acting nor her expressionless face with those overflowing lip fillers. Just
 eh !!!! no.

To sum it up, this drama had potential, but thanks to a brain-dead FL, lip-filler overload, and a love story that shows up fashionably late and barely dressed, it crashes harder than her common sense. Watch it if you enjoy yelling at your screen—otherwise, skip it and thank me later.
