I never liked dramas or movies that resort to foul score fudging.

I never seen a more pathetic attempt to inflate/cook the score with fake 4/5 and 5/5 reviews. They still couldn't overcome the 3/5 max number of votes.

You can also see the score had almost zero haters (1/2 and 2/5). Most ppl objectively rated the drama at 3/5. Then the company flooded the score with fake 4/5 and 5/5.

The fact that 3/5 and 4/5 and 5/5 are almost tied in number of votes says the company paid fake accounts to put up 4/5 and 5/5 votes)

They shouldn't do this without informing the viewer like in Nezha 2 (that explicitly asks you not to leave your seat untill you've watched the post end credits scene). It's not very professional of the studio nor production company.

Lol, there is a reason why I only binge watch a drama after I have pirated all episodes (usually in 4K 60fps) along with their polished ENG subs.

The other reason I resort to pirating is it's not possible for me to stream 4K 60fps without annoying lags. So playing them offline is the only way to smooth video playback.

Technically he is not wrong. Douban score for Zhan Zhao isn't all that impressive. It means Chinese viewers didn't think that highly of Zhan Zhao compared to MDL users (they also thought the only good part were the fights not the story itself).

There was a lag in airing the last few episodes in China. If even Chinese viewers could not view new episodes for days, international ENG platforms will also get delayed so they didn't have time to do a proper human translation yet.

According to what someone else wrote, the official China airing schedule had a delay near the end. It means all third party streamers also experienced delay in getting the final episodes.

You mean there was a lapse to the final ep? That explains why I wasn't able to pirate the last few episodes recently. I only have up to ep 32 in 4K 60fps. The rest in regular 4K 24fps. Gonna be a few more days till I can get the last few in 60fps.

Lol at all drama noobs asking if there will be a S2. C-ent isn't like Hayao Miyazaki anime where he never makes a sequel. They always leave some room (hints and suggestions) for a S2. But there is never an implicit promise they will actually make one.

Or if they actually made a sequel, it will be like Princess Agents 2 after a 10 year lapse and replaced with different people and the story no longer resembles the first season. Or something like Ever Night S2, no longer recognizable from the S1. Or something like Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty that turned from a detective drama into an action-adventure by the time S3 was released... Or maybe you'll all get what you wished the S2 will turn into a wishy washy romance drama that will have fans of the S1 puking at its cheesy romantic scenes!!

Douban really needs more ppl like you to register and vote 5/5 on the drama.

Don't watch it. The official drama score is the Douban score (already a terrible one) which was (or despite being) heavily manipulated to make ppl think it's doing better than it was with fake votes and reviews written by AI. Even the script felt like it was written by AI.

Plenty of buthurt ppl continue to push the drama despite its terrible douban score. The chief complaint on douban was the script felt inorganic like it was AI slop with side characters just standing there doing nothing like they were NPCs.

Also look at the score distributions. Normally 4/5 should have the most votes. But in Zhan Zhao 3/5, 4/5, 5/5 were all evenly voted, which suggests there were even some underhanded fake voting (faked 4/5's and 5/5's) to drive the score up.

Masterpiece my rear end. Drama only scored 6.9/10 on Douban. That's not how you would expect a top tier drama to perform!!

Tencent only ever made 1 animation series worth watching: Shrouding the Heavens. Even then they canceled the ENG release so it's only watched in the Mainland/mostly by Mainland viewers.

Renegade Immortal, Sword of Coming, etc. all garbage stories animated by garbage contract studios. The remote 2nd to Shrouding the Heavens is probably Fights Break Sphere donghua. That one I'm on the fence regarding its story and animation quality. A distant third would be Perfect World since the same author who wrote the novel for Shrouding the Heavens. But the guy like has a harem of at least three future wives/ongoing girlfriends, so in this respect it is trash compared to Shrouding the Heavens.

Moral of the story, the producers and animation companies involved in creating Fanren donghua want to be seen as the Gods of Money that can create miracles and wealth out of thin air.

David-whatsoever hit them where it hurts the most. He took them for hobos that needed his cash injections to keep the show running. How much more insults can a man hurl towards one of China's top entertainment platforms?

I didn't really get into ANY Pegasus movies until just a couple of months ago. I heard about its earlier success (from a few years ago), but didn't care for any of that. To me racing movies were STUPID and a WASTE of TIME. You already know who wins the race in the END.

It wasn't until I saw that this CNY's lineup sucked that I "forced" myself to swallow the Pegasus pill, and boy what a ride it had been! The journey was rife with difficulties, I nearly gave up on the first part (which means I was also on the verge of giving up its sequels). It wasn't until I fully uninstalled Kodi player then reinstalled the latest version that the old format video for part 1 that's being circulated in sharing communities began to play flawlessly. So yeah, if any of you having trouble playing movies from 2019, which were mostly FHD and also remasters of very old Hollywood movies, just do what I did wipe Kodi clean from your drive then reinstall.

What planet you live on? Li Qin is now a megastar. To reprise the role of Chun'er would actually damage her reputation and career at this point. When she took on that role 10 years ago, her stardom was not yet lit... so it was OK back then to play the deranged girl who had be humiliated...

Guys, WHEN YOU WATCH THE FANREN DONGHUA (on their official YT channel for FREE), DON'T BE LIKE THAT DAVID-WHATEVER POSTER BELOW!!

Don't turn the comments section into some TRASH influencer channel, where the higher you pay, the more glorious they make your comments stand out from among the crowd.

They got *MAD* when this DAVID-WHATEVER POSTER FROM BELOW did that, they cut off all access to ENG subs to their special series becoz guess what, this poster made his PAID comment in English.

I REPEAT PRODUCTION COMPANY IS NEITHER A MONEY LAUNDERER NOR BEGGING FOR YOUR DONATIONS!! (How can anyone who worked on the megahit Nezha 2 even act this way? It's against the rules!). Keep that kind of TRASHY BEHAVIOR limited to those trashy influencer channels you often hear about in the news!!

If you truly love Faren donghua, follow the lead of the Chinese commenters that post all in Chinese and keep it clean. Do NOT follow the lead from English commenters like David-whatsoever [he's probably Asian just that he can't or don't know how to type Chinese comments]. These guys are at best 1-star Neophytes to donghua animations and at worst complete noobs...)
