Wait. I just have a moment of realization. Maybe Dahae agree to con this family because Gwiju is an alcohol addict. He fit the criteria... That's why she push that wine bottle... I always thought she only do that to summon the mother and prolong their conversation, so the mom will introduce each other. But maybe she want to stop him from drink more.

This! From past episode I feel something eerie from her 'mom', but at the same time I don't think she is simply 'bad'. I still can't understood their dynamic fully, but Dahae is definitely not just a puppet. No way it's pure luck when 1st and 2nd husband match Dahae personal agenda so well. But for Bok family, they not even know their weakness until Dahae infiltrate their house. I'm curious how long they already target Bok family.
From ep 6 we can see that her heart can't bear to conning Bok family. She must set aside her morale compass to be a con, but doesn't mean she doesn't have heart. Now I want to hug her too :')
Talking about when Ina read Dahae's mind: 1st marriage: to get back at her mom who left her to be with her lover. 2nd marriage: to get back at her alcoholic dad who neglected her.
It's mean even though Dahae being a con to pay her father debt, she still bring personal agenda. She truly is a morally grey character.
Day 365247 of me wishing this was a 16 episode drama because THERE IS SO MUCH I WANNA KNOW and not enough time.…
I agree! This is such a complex drama, that every time I done rewatching, I always gain new information or new interpretation. Every characters in this drama can have their own drama. They all so fleshed out and complex.
But at the same time, I'm scared if this have 16 ep it will break the story tempo. Well, so far it's perfect.
What if ML needs to be wearing The Precious (TM) {aka, the family ring] in order to save FL? Or, in order to be…
Btw, JTBC called Gwiju-Dahae couple as ๊ทํด (gwihae) couple. Gwihae can be translated as 'precious'. So calling the ring as The Precious somehow fit the theme๐
I just rewatch this drama, but this time with better quality earphone. The experience is quite different. There are certain buzz and subtle back sound that bring the mood deeper. One of the best in term of audio/music in kdrama.
all this time and you don't know she is not a bad person??? she lent money, yes she is loan shark, but she not…
I'm sorry but you mean FL's mother right? ML's dad found about her mother while doing FL's background check.
I don't think that kind of paper have any strength when brought into court, it's illegal loan after all.
But now I see possibility of insurance fraud. FL already have life insurance before, if her 'mother' claim herself as her guardian. She can gain monetary benefit if FL's pass away. She maybe can't do much as a minor and fall into that scam. So Dahae likely must choose between being a con or... death(?) Her mother said it before right, kind of: "It's okay if you want to stop, your life insurance already stacking up." That sound even more like a threat now after I read what Mary said in this comment section.

Yes, I'm still in torn she is good or not.
"She literally raised her and genuinely cares about her", yes she keep her stay alive, but she make her a con. Grooming HS student into a con. She doesn't looks caring in my eyes, she doesn't listen to what she said, using her vulnerability to gain what she want. But Dahae call her mother, likely there is some bond between them. But still doesn't know how genuine she is.
But about murder, that's why I asking if I take it too far๐ The thought pop in my head, but then I'm like: "Eh, it's not like that." But then I'm like, "Eh, it is?"
Does anyone understand why I-na wants Dahae back in the house and likes her despite knowing she's a scammer?p.s.…
I see similar pattern between Ina relationship with her friend and her relationship with Dahae. She have mindset that no matter what your intention are, she is okay as long as she gain what she need. She need to be seen.

That bring a whole 1 minute confusion.

Well, it still a theory.

Am I take it too far?
