just imagine the saddest outcome ever.... it's worse

being unbiased
-acting is great
-Plot idea is decent
-Direction wasn't it
-Actions scenes were a hit or miss
-Ending and last couple of eps were unrealistic

BUT, it highly depends on one's taste

I would have loved it if Haxia had in fact died early, instead they ruined his angel-like persona and gave fans false hope, you blame it one DY's fans? Let me tell you a certain fact, had he died, that show wouldn't have gotten half where it is right now and that director knew it, instead he decided to ruin a masterpiece novel with a kid-like plot instead of sticking to what made the novel perfect.

3rd thought: Write an AO3 about it with better plot and ending
4th thought: Rewatch Ultimate note
5th thought: Watch other dramas for Ding Yuxi where he is laughing and smiling a lot

Final thought, drop the entire thing today, have some family time, go to sleep early and make up your mind in the morning

Okay.... I think I am calmer now, so let's talk logical

The theory of this originally having 3 endings seems very real, or just pure evil. Because they really got out hopes up until the very end with that "cure" option only to do us dirty.

Being fair, I thought it's because everyone likes Haxai, but the truth is we were given hope by the creators until the very end, which whether was becoz they hadn't made their mind back then for the ending, or because they wanted this to be unexpected... in all cases, feeding us false hope was mean

So, we all agree that show ended after episode 16, right?
