so, far loads of changes... but it's too early to judge

I know I said I am okay with the changes, and I already commented this before... BUT

I would really be disappointed if the scene where Hui threw that ashtray was the remake for what had happened in the novel

Sine the entire drama's name was based on that scene of Fei asking Hui what he was to him and Hui answering "The ashtray where I put my ash" referring to him as a sexu@l tool. It would be a waste.

ESP when Fei was later graped and Hui was listening over the phone, Fei told Hui "Someone else is putting their ash into your ashtray, find yourself a new one" That was when Hui realized all his wrong doings... while I get that it's different now in the show since Hui isn't as toxic, it would still be a shame if they omitted the entire thing

Another thing I would assume is Chiu yan is the replacement for Perade since they won't go all the way to France or hire westerns for that type of scenes.

OR

I will go for a wilder assumption and think it might be Hui's younger brother since his role here is major in comparison to his role in the novel.

The carless remark in the novel was "You're the ashtray to my ash"

As someone who's read the novel I will say 3 things

1.Despite the amount of events that were cut short, I think it wasn't that bad of an outcome, and being fair maybe I am a little relieved that they keep releasing flashbacks, which "may" include some of their past struggles until this relation was established.

Honestly, I would have what I see now than having to rewatch another version of LS 3 and see the same comments again due to lack of proper build-up.

I can already see that a lot of changes were made to Hui's character that made him more pleasant, but from the trailer it's evident that he would still mess up again with Fei, so, maybe they will somehow recreate but minorize their personalities and still retain the major similarities with their personas in the novel.


2. Someone said that the drama has a sad ending... If it's about the villain part with Fei, then yes. But TBH, I don't expect to see half of that on the show. I think they might imply with words, maybe release a scene or two.... but 95% of it should and would be censored

That on the side, it wasn't a sad ending, like at all, rather reasonable.

3. I personally had issues with the novel due to the personality holes in Fei's character, he was portrayed as a proud beauty who isn't easily swayed and a sassy one, yet he wasn't like that with Hui in the novel and occasionally allowed Hui to step on him, in the drama however I think it made better sense to me that he would always roar back.

finally, I LOOOOOOOVE that they made this a drama, and I love it, definitely strong competitor for top BLs this year

just imagine the saddest outcome ever.... it's worse

being unbiased
-acting is great
-Plot idea is decent
-Direction wasn't it
-Actions scenes were a hit or miss
-Ending and last couple of eps were unrealistic

BUT, it highly depends on one's taste

UK, I am not a DY fan, I was a fan of the entire franchise. But wanna talk about generous?

I would have loved it if Haxia had in fact died early, instead they ruined his angel-like persona and gave fans false hope, you blame it one DY's fans? Let me tell you a certain fact, had he died, that show wouldn't have gotten half where it is right now and that director knew it, instead he decided to ruin a masterpiece novel with a kid-like plot instead of sticking to what made the novel perfect.

And while we're at it, the direction was terrible
