Totally agree! The use of H4 couple as an example was definitely a mistake, on soooo many levels!
They were my favorite & are in my top ten LOL. I loved them together. I loved their characters & their humor...they were hot too LOL. I truly loved all of the scenes with everyone except Yong Jie LOL. I even loved the parents LOL.
I thought ChengRen were genuine & normal & understanding. Plus, the way Li Cheng looked at Mu Ren you could feel every bit of adoration through the screen. I have watched this show, minus the stepbrothers scenes, more times than I can count & it was inevitably the reason I broke down & paid for Viki LOL.
[S01+S02]DO NOT WATCH This show unless you enjoy feeling nauseated &like punching the screen throughout! Are there…
Um, yes there are many different people in this world...I looked up the population of JUST Japan & as of 2021 there are 125 MILLION people. 332 MILLION in the USA. 71 MILLION in Thailand. 51 million in South Korea. 23 MILLION in Taiwan. 114 MILLION in the Philippines.
That's 716 MILLION HUMANS...not including everyone from the rest of the world.
As a human being, I'm thrilled that we are not all the same.

Oh no this is definitely the only History that I can recall being this silly...consistently. In H4 right in the beginning they had some silliness but it was few & far between. I'm good for SOME silly shit but I have a limit LOL especially with the older actors PORTRAYING characters their age.
H4 was my favorite, but I loved H3 too, & tbh I really kinda sorta ignored Xing Yi & Yong Jie. I only watched any & all of their scenes once through & that was it. I was working on digesting the stepbrother trope, because it's normally not something I'm interested in, when the rape scene happened & I couldn't seem to get over it...shocking right? But in truth, as the show went on I just realized that I truly didn't like Yong Jie & I thought Xing Yi was awesome & well...I watched for ChengRen, stayed for ChengRen, & re-watched for ChengRen. Plus the soundtrack was awesome & I'm normally not one to care about it.
I am genuinely disappointed in H5 because all of the History's offered different & somewhat complex situations. They showed grown up lifestyles & careers, their family life & home life. Make Our Days Count was, IMO, complicated, intense, & very mature for a storyline still in school. I think they went all wrong from the beginning with the time travel...for starters LOL.
What kind of eye roll inducing nonsense was this bullshite episode?
As a huge H4 fan, Xing Si & Yong Jie was the WORST couple to use as a guide!!! Not only are the situations not even close to being similar but NOW the subject of age gap is a thing? Are you kidding me?!?! Age gap was the least of Xing Si & Yong Jie's issues LOL. Xing Si is definitely awesome as the voice of reason FOR OTHER COUPLES but please do not bring his relationship into this LOL.
These couples are the definition of immaturity. The time travel storyline is so out of left field every time it is brought up that I was hoping the writers just forgot about it altogether. And while we all know that Liang is a good guy, this whole story line of Wynn acting like a big baby & Liang just ignoring everything & being dishonest is tiresome if not repetitive.
Neither one of these couple has any chemistry together & I've just about had enough of Johnny altogether. I'd rather not hear his inner monologue because it just infuriates me more.
On a side note, for some reason I still think Tony is a snack.
Forget bodyguarding 101, it’s his boyfriend! Wouldn’t you go with your boyfriend when you knows he’s in…
The truth is I'm always willing to suspend disbelief for pretty much anything. I have to because my personality would just be alone & mean & OK with it LOL so I try to eliminate most things that I consider to be common sense so that stories can flow & I can enjoy as much as I can. But boy does BL test me.
