I did hold my breath a bit for the reveal of Kang's motivation. This is usually where I feel some thriller/crime dramas fall apart. I thought the background given was sufficient and like the other reply said, his plan was never a plan but lucky coincidence that spiraled into Mun-oh's destruction. It's clear Kang had sociopathic tendencies. So I would've been perfectly satisfied if his motivation was nothing more than getting a thrill out of manipulating (because that's what socios do, they enjoy manipulating people) Mun-oh who was an easy target: arrogant, old man with a stick up his ass and obvious insecurities he could exploit. He's a sociopath's perfect victim honestly.
I feel like too many shows always try to force fit a motive behind the antagonist. There's always some hidden wound or boogeyman that drove him mad and I honestly hate that trope. If we're writing stories about humans, you have to accept that not every human has a correlated experience driving their bad behavior. Humans are just as bad as they are good and some truly are evil for no reason other than that's just them. They don't always need a sob story for "justification."
It would've been more chilling had the writers just allowed Kang to be a sociopath full stop and nothing more.
Part of Kang’s ‘revenge’ is disrupting/destroying Munoh’s marriage. The subplot of his wife concurrently…
I think it's about showing Mun-oh's character flaw. Just like Kang said, he covets stories and gets so lost in them he can't see what's truly important. He clearly has some obsessive disorder. The ride Kang took him on was so riveting he literally lived the thrill and it's likened to a guilty pleasure for him, or a drug. He probably wants to ride that roller coaster again. That's my conclusion. Characters are human, they're not supposed to be logical.
People in reviews rating in 7 are some hater ass bitxes. it surely a 9.5/10 . they're just jealous and saying…
It's such a small, insignificant scene too. This was never a noona romance. So people harping on it are coming off like kpop stans who police idols for filming and dancing with the opposite gender. Shit is weird as hell. This is a college student who are adults and consented to numerous encounters before doing the deed. And it's clear that HE came onto her, not the other way around. Anyway, it's such a minor sub story it isn't really worthy of discussion other than the quality of the performance which was pretty solid.
Ppl really don't like ANYTHING I'm pissing myself reading the reviews. Anyways shout out to all the actors, writer…
That was kinda hot. We don't really see Hyun Wook in intimate roles since he's mainly played high schoolers. But I think that was a great test of him handling that kind of content. Overall his performance was great and I can't wait to see what else he does. Easily one of my favorites of the younger actors.
I loved this. I especially enjoyed Hyun Wook's performance and like in dark roles. He has such a sweet face but can handle diabolical characters well. Also, I loved the band music for the end credits. I wish I could rewatch this fresh.
wtf are you saying? she was literally a normal citizen before all this. she went through something in her past,…
I'm not asking for a trained fighter or a criminal expert. I'm asking for someone who would reasonably be in survival mode after their loved one told them to get out of dodge. That means fight like hell. Be weary of people around you. Run when your loved one is telling you to run. That's not unrealistic.
So far I'm liking it enough to keep watching but Hui Ju pisses me off. Annoyingly slow, weak, and dumb. After a while I lose interest and sympathy for the fragile damsel in distress. When can I get a leading lady who summons her feminine prowess and gets into survival mode? Who fights like HELL against attackers and beats them to shit so they can't get back up? Who acts calm to not arouse suspicion? Who practices common fucking sense?!
This is a weird ass movie. The Amazon description made it seem so ridiculously scandalous that I'm like, no way, it can't be that. And yes, it was that.
I found that japanese lady extremely rude with her words....she said to muhee, "we were dating then his heart…
I guess I misinterpreted the convo between Muhee and the pregnant lady about her far along she was. I thought Muhee was only dating him for a few months and started after she was pregnant so my whole perspective is Muhee being the side chick. Which made me read the pregnant lady's words as hurt and jealousy that the side chick had a whole over her man. I got it now. Thanks.
The ratings is 8.4, the few negative comments won’t stop people when the ratings is this high, and your comment…
They're just like kpop stans. They take personal offense if you don't like whatever's currently the object of their obsession. They're weirdos with no life who spend their whole day policing online forums and arbitrarily shooting up ratings like they'll win anything at the end. It's mind-bogglingly stupid.
I'm half way through episode 1 and I feel like at some point I've been dropped into the middle of the story. On top of that, Mr. Ju's decision to defend Mu-hee against the pregnant woman made no sense to me. Mu-hee was the one being rude and confrontational. And why are we picking fights with the Japanese lady and not the guy she's after?
Random: I love Eun Ho's home. First time I've seen a drama create a family home that truly felt like kids live there. So many are just cold, minimalist and feel like store catalogs.
I decided to rewatch and really enjoyed this show like I did two years ago. But their explanation for how I-jae prepared everything through his lives made little sense... on top of the fact he was just going through the motions the first few lives before even realizing the connection. He couldn't have prepared for Tae-u's takedown from Life #1.
Attention seeking. I thought they were already married. After 10 years, why bother now? It's not special after…
No comment on the 'attention seeking' remark as I don't follow them, or really any celebs' personal updates. But I also raised an eyebrow at learning they had been dating for 10 years. After 3-5 years if you don't already know that you want to make this person your life partner, you are wasting your time, especially if this relationship started after 25 years of age. These marriages tend to fall apart soon after tying the knot because the ring/ceremony was an appeasement rather than a willing step.
But I hope this is an anomaly and they're genuinely happy with each other.
Gyuri fucking annoys me. I cannot stand nosy, entitled people.
Edit: And I guess she's supposed to give "Main Character" energy but it is not working for me. It doesn't come off natural. It's more irritating than anything.
