Let's just get to it: THE TIME TRAVEL. Are you kidding me?! So, we go through all that emotional turmoil, all…
(Pretty sure the future meet-cute after the credits was actually with the twin, not Victor - the cheek mole can distinguish.)
That said, yes I think we're pretty much all agreed that this was really bad, and honestly the uncut version is even worse... in the full uncut version, the main character himself actually dies as well, for no good reason whatsoever, AFTER the reset. So the series literally ends with the main character dead.
Please note that this is the theatrical cut version; however, there is also an uncut version that was released on home media that has 30 more minutes of footage (and makes much more sense as a result)! (Just submitted that entry to the database~ :) )
Okay, I'm getting real tired of this cult-like baseless hate-train I keep seeing anytime Dunk does literally anything. Everyone who keeps on spewing hate towards Dunk on every single one of his projects needs to stop hate-watching everything he does for the sake of their own mental health at this point, because what even is the point of putting yourself through watching everything he's in if you supposedly really can't stand him that much? 🤦♀️ I'm not a Dunk stan or anything (in fact, I'm really more of a Joong fan, myself - I adore Joong's real-life personality 🥰); however, the way I always see some people going after Dunk in such petty, ad-hominem ways is just vile (and stupid to boot). No one's saying the dude is a god-tier-level actor, but I've seen a lot of bad acting elsewhere over the years and I can tell you that Dunk is not bad at all - he's actually perfectly decent at his job - and any problems you have with him personally that for some reason so fill you with hatred that you feel the need to plaster that crap everywhere every time you see his face is a reflection on YOU, not him. I say this with all sincerity: If this is you, please, get help. You need to work those anger issues out, preferably via some kind of therapy, as soon as possible - for the sake of your own health, if nothing else.
ANYWAY, back to comments about the actual show: Dunk was just as freakin' PERFECTLY cast for his role in this show as all the other 3 mains were, and I for one had the time of my life watching the first episode. Gonna completely ignore the incredibly stupid fan wars / rating shenanigans from here on out and just enjoy the rest of the ride~ ✌️✌️
it was just Joong trolling ppl in live as usual lol I find it hilarious that some ppl on twitter believed him
No need to drag other (unrelated) shows in the comments of this one. (Also, do note that before airing, We Are literally had to completely reshoot a massive chunk of the entire series all over again due to having to replace one of its original actors *after* they'd already completed most of the original filming; I think they did admirably well with everything, considering the circumstances.)
(Not going to spoiler this because everyone deserves to know what they're getting into here.)
After today's ep.: Nah, this is too much-- Jaejun is literally cheating now. Even if the first kiss (which he initiated) was meant to be a "Here, you got what you wanted, now screw off," that was not the case with the second kiss-- there was no pushback or pulling away, but rather he really got into it instead; in fact he didn't hesitate to just full-on makeout with the guy, which is definitely cheating. And IMO there is no 'redemption' for cheating. If you're in a monogamous relationship, then you have agreed to stick with that person unless you break up first; and if you're polyamorous, then all parties need to agree on both that as well as the specific terms of the arrangement for all involved for it to be ethical. I can't stand cheating plots in fiction, because they're never written correctly; it's always made to be 'okay' in the end, when it really, really is not. There's really no way back for Jaejun's character for me now. And Jihan deserves so much better than to be loyal to a cheater... but, of course, they're going to write them back together anyway. 🙄🤦♀️🤮
I think I'm going to drop this series now, unfortunately. How did the writing go this far downhill... 😕
Ugh... not loving the double love triangles/love square forming here... :( I really hate love triangles to begin with (they're nearly always super unrealistic and unnecessary, not to mention annoying)-- unless it turns into a consensual poly arrangement (which is unfortunately still quite a rare occurance in fiction at this point, although I have seen it a couple of times). And to have two love triangles developing simultaneously? Even worse! Hopefully here the triangles aren't dragged out for the whole season and are dealt with very quickly-- or just turn into a polycule, LOL (but I'm not getting any hopes up for that in this series, unfortunately).
Oh, and I'm also not a fan of characters being insanely jealous (unless they're villainous or something)-- a little is fine, if the communication gets worked out between the couple; but extreme jealousy is a red flag and not attractive at all. So I hope that gets toned down, too.
Yeah, outofthemouthsof basically answered it already, but it was both happy and sad because they apparently lived happily together for decades... but they didn't actually show any of that, not even in montage-- they just timeskipped right to Yoh's death-day. And Pun supposedly has only 20 more years left to live after that, so if Yoh was reincarnated again then they'd barely have any time together at all in that life once Yoh was of age...
