that in itself could be a great new rom com - bc he is trained and by nature is super loyal and he is obedient and dedicated, and even when he is not, he at least TRIES to maintain the veneer of obedience, so falling in love with a woman who is very "law obiding" honest but hot and dedicated to him and standing up to him in openly challenging ways, "retraining him" and then he changing his lifestyle and belief system to hers, would be a super fun rom com - with him in the ML role and maybe they even have kids and their parenting strategies clash lmao It would be fun

`0h shoot i forgot about that bc I was so frustrated with BTB ending, two selfish egoistical MENTAL lazy complacent scared cowardly greedy spoiled cold distant isolated reserved calculated cunning brats just keeping shut down bc it is more convenient ... Yeah it was a realistic ending but it ruined the drama imo Bc a drama should NOT be about the most probable LOW END EASY SLEAZY plot and esp not the ending! I will forever remember that drama as an utmost failure, as a BLAND, CONVENTIONAL, MAINSTREAM COMMERCIAL, LIFELESS, NO ENERGY, SLEAZY STALE drama

SO THANK YOU for reminding me of the second leads plot! I almost forgot about it... that was the best thing about that drama
and it was almost a shicophrenic split - the Lead couple was sooo cold, distant, calculated reserved, - and the whole law world was - and then the second lead was soooo exuberantly hot in pursuit, ..... so ALIVE and ENERGETIC ... he seemed so out of place in that dead stale cesspoppl

And yeah he was cute there too but it seemed out of context a little bit that such as emotional loving giving passionately HOT guy was in that cold, distant mental greedy place

So I can see what happened - this drama took his BTB role and put it into an appropriate context where it is super hilarious as well and he can be as cute and expressive as he can possibly be ,minus the romance

I think his second lead BTB role could be and should be spawn into a drama on its own and he should be the ML role in that rowdy rom com with tinges of thriller - it could be a "real life law" drama bc he has it all for such a role . He could be a lawyer, a ganster - a small kind - or a CEO that does things his own way He could be even someone self employed, like a very rowdy plumber or electrician who has fun with his female clients - or they chase him - and then finds the one... There are lots of jobs where the person can be expressive lmao
yeah a new rom com that crosses Again My Life/Lawless layer thriller or some gangster thriller with the hot romance from BTB and comedy flavor from 50s Professionals

Yeah this actual would be IDEAL for that role
I hope someone makes that drama with him.

Koreans are chasing $$$$$ so they downgraded dumbed numbed kdramas, now kdramas are STALE AND STAGNANT MAINSTREAM COMMERCIAL BORING..... main leads are usually some very bland "respectable" people with poker face and personality of cardboard, so nobody from the audience gets offended or ticked off, and then MAYBE there are second leads or side characters who are spunky and keep the drama alive. Most new kdramas are so boring!!! the main characters are so boring!!!!! Even rom coms are based on poker faced main characters, most rom coms these days do not have the COMEDY

So taking piece of old roles of this actor and making a totally new rowdy rom com thriller with him as the ML would be FANTASTIC

Here in this drama, his role is officially not comedic, but it IS super comical just by the nature of his character and how the actor acts it. His acting skills are amazing. I am so glad the director/scriptwriter let him act and express a lot, seems like as much as he wanted. That is so REFRESHING and makes the drama so good

Bc the best part of kdramas is that rowdy subtle sense of humor that makes fun of everything but in a very compassionate and warm way, it is like - omg this is hilariously silly but I understand and I symphatize with the character.... I am not where kdramas get that deep sense of COMPASSION AND WARMTH, that satirical honest look at everything but with deep appreciation and understanding ,,,

Like in this drama, that silly cute boy is silly and cute and everything in between, we see all his bad sides and all his good sides, and we laugh at him and we sympathize with him and cheer him on to improve, we are emotionally attached to see him "win" and become a hero in his own life,,, Only kdramas have that ability to TOTALLY make fun of any situation and character but keep that compassionate cheering on for the situation/ characters.. It is like... what hope and God's compassion must look like...

Only kdramas have that rowdy satire with compassion these days... .I looked around and cant find it anywhere else... So that's why 99% of my watch is kdramas .... but if they go down ... I am not gonna watch anything.
In the USA, it already died by around 2006... there WERE great satires like Idiocracy, Groundhog day, Truman Show, even Matrix, White Chicks, Legally Blonde, etc etc .. Equilibrium, They live, etc etc .... Twilight Zone.... etc Selfie Ignite... etc but it is all GONE

And the only ones who still have it is kdramas
I think it comes from their rough history, from their current and past situations where they are a small place surrounded by big powerful aggressive, and still somehow surviving and thriving, and still ... overthrowing bad ppl and governments lmao Koreans are an impressive nation, imo. And that HUMOR in their dramas really shows that "higher level of thinking" - they have kept their sense of OBJECTIVE EVALUATION, WITH COMPASSION

And now all my interactions with Koreans living in Hawaii and otherwise are kinda coming into a place, a deeper understanding. Somehow Koreans kept the ability to be HONEST IN A KIND WAY.
It is too bad that their nation is going extinct with the globally lowest birth rate... partially due to their new fetish of super skinny ... perhaps to Fukushima radiation... etc I wish them to survive and thrive bc their way of thinking produces MASTERFUL storytelling

The best part of falling apart dramas is the commentary section, where ppl make memes and make fun.... I didnt watch the drama but I read the comments lmao This @Shinubi comment got me rolling off the chair and it sums up the plot:

"This is what will be happening for the rest of this drama: each day someone will return from the dead. They will pop up one by one, returning from the graves, including the cats"

I really enjoy watching Dai Chi and Crystal, they are fantastic villains :) They are annoying and nasty as well as fun, so COMPLEX, and acted so well, they are just fantastic villains
I want to know how Dai Chi turned out to be the way he is and where he comes from. Who is his mother, what happened with her, why we never saw Dai Chi as a boy while Grandpa was dating Grandma with her daughter. We saw grandma's daughter but not little boy Dai Chi - where was he??? he must have been in the picture back then. His mom was somehow gone and Grandpa found Grandma - but where was Dai Chi? And what made him so bad? Did Crystal ruin him? he must have been bad before that too, otherwise he wouldnt like someone like Crystal ... she is a poisonous rat

EA mom will hate Grandma at least for a while... that's what I had in mind.

From that drama and also from 100 Memories I learned the power of the director/script writer to KILL any actors - to make them be a deadbeat poker face.
it was a hard lesson to learn to see the masterful creatively rich actor King of Shopping Louis etc be forced to be robot-like in Boyfriend on Demand...

And 100 Memories REALLY drove the point home bc I saw this deadening in reverse.... 100 Memories turned out to be a quite lame drama, a lot due to a poker faced ML..... he was so boring and thus the drama was so boring..... and I saw him in one more similar boring support role - so I really thought he cannot act - but then I saw him as ML in Royal Nemesis and he ***can*** act a wide range - wow what a surprise!!!!

Then there is Legend of Kitchen Soldier where a whole bunch of actors who are usually grumpy villains or grumpy fighters got a free ticket to horse around and have fun.... and they had a BLAST ... and made the drama so good...
Or Recipe for Love where again veteran actors got a permission to act to their heart's desire and wow that is so fun to watch, esp Uncle actor is just SHINING... and compare that to their previous drama For Eagle Brothers, which was soooo boring flat flat flat ...

So to them even the most boring kdrama is like a PhD dissertation complex... their brain on antidepressants, pain killers, sleeping pills, marijuana, and who knows what else... just cannot think ..... so yeah flash some scenes and they will think they are watching a masterpiece... Cdramas totally exploit this and consist almost 100% of flashy meaningless scenes and meaningless "serious" dramatic scene, the feel of a military parade... . Perfect Crown was a great example of totally manipulating western-oriented audience lmao

but a drama is not a fashion show, it is a STORY, it has to be ALIVE

ML in Sold Out on You was the most recent victim of this slavery to the cool robot image, as I know, because they made a perfectly alive, peppy, happy person act like a totally shut down idiot, all the way through, it was just .... aaaagh.... more than boring - infuriating ..so OVERSIMPLIFIED and so flat...
ML actor in Practical Guide to Love was visibly BORED TO DEATH with really stupid script and making him into a dumb, slow, oversimplified "elderly" character, he barely survived that drama lmao
before that it was Park Seo Joon, a fantastic comedian who can express all kinds of things, forced into Surely Tomorrow bs where he had to essentially shiver in fear and anger and sadness the entire time in this oversimplified 1-dimensional character. It was sooooo boring awful FLAT
This deadening is routinely done to female roles, bc of sexism, they are made dumb, clumzy, overreactive, naive, etc. so the only emotions are fear, anxiety, confusion... Like ... FL in Nice Guy which she repeated in the recent drama too... omg soooo boring stupid!!!!! such dramas are really really really stupid
So yeah a great example of that is FL in Would you Marry Me, and the actress copied 100% her character from My Father is Strange... sooooo dumb boring stupid one dimensional!!!! And ML actor in WYMM was sooo bored and so impatient, his face had this vibe of "I am gonna endure this until we finish filming but omg is this boring get me out of here!!!"

SO YES I LEARNED ABOUT IMPORTANCE OF DIRECTOR/SCRIPT WRITER. They are like Goddess Kali - have the power to kill or to rejuvenate :)
