Now I totally understand why ppl wait for a drama to finish airing and THEN watch - bc it is a risk you take - like we took the risk and invested 25 hrs into watching this, and it might fail, and all those hours are wasted.
What you get is discussion in real time and a chance that the drama is good
But what you risk, is wasting 25+ hrs of your life

I 100% agree, that is where we stand now. It is ok as a start of a story, but it should be evolving, and it was not, so far. **WILL** IT EVOLVE? So far, JH was a ditz and made steps to grow - and made it. We can only hope that the drama will now make JN grow.

It is already ep50, about half point of the drama.... so the drama has to take quick steps forward now or else it is just a stupid drama wasting our time. We will know this week or immediately after the 2 week break due to Asia games. Even if the drama intended to stay cheesy, the drama might be changed during the pause bc the audience said JN is stupid.

The drama will EITHER continue to create lazy cheesy script by keeping the FL totally stupid immature,
OR
FL will start growing, learn what you mentioned etc and fight back in a way that matters.

To solve the DooDoo at al problem permanently, those other skills you mentioned are absolutely required - and those skills require a mature person, which JN is still NOT. Ji Ni is still a woman child. For example, she does not talk.

We need to give credit to JN as she is a little bit better than older drama females, who were totally helpless. JN at least learned physical self defense. It is a useful physical skill that diffuses imminent physical danger and helps JN to feel like nobody could hold her stuck in a storage room.

But as you said, she forgot to work on the part of NOT GOING TO STORAGE ROOM... and the part of NOT BEING CALLED TO STORAGE ROOM... and the part of ALERTING OTHERS NOT TO GO TO STORAGE ROOM... and the part of DOCUMENTING and REPORTING what happened in the storage room.

So despite her physical self defense skills, in this drama JN was severely manipulated and abused, and only in a few simple situations was saved, not by herself but by her mother...her friend... and in the preview, we see her again stuck in the storage room...

By showing JN's physical skills, the drama cleverly tried to trick us into believing that JN is stronger and more independent than she really is. She is ... fake. She can fight and talk back at her mother, but she cannot talk to anyone else, she cannot hold a job, she cannot even alert ppl to danger.

I watched enough of this drama, and at this point I feel duped, it is clear that the drama is the same sexist trash as usual.

This is the Y fork in the road for this drama - literally live or die for the drama. Either JN learns and grows, or the drama dies. Watching this after ep 55 will be a waste of time if JN does not grow up by the end of this week

and it has to be done gently so that sexist audience does not get pissed off and pull out their money and viewership :) that is the business reality of this situation

I ran into those in Love on the Menu weekender, where audience thinks that FL lying and running away for 8 yrs is acceptable bc of her her previous harsh background. They are fiercely defending FL to stay the same - and expecting the ML to help her grow up. That kind of audience totally killed weekender Our Golden Days, bc FL was outspoken, they hated her so the drama made the FL ditz again. You bet the drama ppl wont make the same $$$ mistake and put an outspoken FL.

SINCE THE SEXIST PPL ARE OUT THERE, DRAMAS WILL CATER TO THEM AND SHOW DITZ FEMALE CHARACTERS. It is a catch 22. Showing ditz female characters gives a message to the society that being feminine means being a ditz
Then we are stuck with meaningless dramas with "pretty oppas who act as sugar daddies to ditz women"

We are on the verge of a "new age" where women do NOT have to be ditzy and sacrificially kind, and men do NOT have to be smart and cold. Everyone should be what they genuinely are and trying to evolve into the best version of themselves, being a more "saintly" human being, for lack of better term.

But most money he makes goes to his employer - if he makes 70 mil, it means he actually made 140mil and his employer took half of it..... , and ML has to work hard for his half. The price of his salary is that he cannot afford to be angry, outspoken, do what he wants to do, .... he has to be a silent hamster on a wheel, just running ... running... running....

So.... the funky part is that he forgot to add to the equation the investment of his time and his LIFE and energy and all the risks of his job
If he owns a building, he does not have to get up at 6am and work till 9pm every day
I hope one day he will remember that

Mr Kim is a masterpiece, no question, and very realistic script in many ways bc a real office manager wrote it. The drama is "happy end" (unlike real life in many cases) bc ... I wont spoil it :) But after all this time has passed, that drama does not stick in my mind so much bc I remember Mr Kim who is .. a rather thick character :) who is not someone to emulate...

Typhoon Family is ... ok but nothing stellar. However, as time goes by, and I forgot all the cheesy filler pieces with the villain, the very solid deep warm note of .. comraderie of that drama stays. FL actress is just amazing. I remember her. So in the long term memory, that feeling of "working together" is what stayed, with her face as the trademark of that drama, so the memory of that drama is more powerful and positive than Mr Kim

Chairman is irritating and irritated when he chastises HR's "mom" about not being a good mom. He himself was chastising HR before but now wants to be "supportive" -
