yeah, it was such a long scene for that part. a simple reading of their ultimate fate would have sufficed. especially given the editing and cuts situation most cdramas are facing now during airing with the restrictions. maybe they didn't film enough scenes with the main cast so they're now just stretching the content they actually have.

Mr Han is the better match for her, their families have an understanding. He saved her many times, they spent good moments together already. and he's never been married before.
compared to LJQ, the creators didn't make an effort to make him even the slightest match or a prospect for her. She was never attracted to him. and not even a little bit of hatred (as the saying goes, without love, there is no hate).
Because they had a buried history (when she was still Shen Jialan).
But now, she will hate him finally because he provoked her with a surprise marriage.
But, Mr han is not the lead, the illogical LJQ is. So it's very confusing. it's like meteor garden, are they trying to make him like DMS. checks out because in her book now, he is simply a bad guy. and a divorced one too.

he can only simmer in nervous jealousy. lol.
it's a bummer they make this show more about the other loosely connected characters, when the main leads can clearly carry the weight and lead the whole plot.
every chance they get, there has to be a scene about the feelings/dramatic monologue of the tragic uninteresting side-characters, Manyi, Du Cui Que, Xingtang.
The servants were more interesting IMO. Yunchang, Jiugao, Nanke, Xiaolian, Gantang. like where are their backstories? they are more strongly connected to LX and LJ tbh.
They made scenes where the MC's are together, so rare, it's like the main plot is loosing direction.
What makes a good cdrama imo - chemistry and acting of all actors but the leads should be leading, the OST and musical scoring, the plot direction and pacing. - if these first three are so good, the show becomes unforgettable.

would be nice to have - cinematography, aesthetics and costume/makeup, and complexity of the characters - these ones however, no matter how good, just simply cannot carry a show, if only these last three are good, the show becomes unmemorable.

it would not be bad if her first husband was Mr. Han,

painfully slow = ep 26. the most painful so far imo.
-Lanxiang and Mr. Han lament on their interrupted betrothal with the wall between them.
-Lin Jinqi getting his as whipped, and quite confusingly- why the old master waited till 1 month to do this to their most precious son.
-Duke's family shown being doomed in the prison, including the innocent members. the dramatics were unnecessary.
-and revealing in exposition the surviving members of the betrayed families like the opera singer girl and mister Lu, and like over a sad drinking session too.

-silver lining - the children of the Lin household comforting their big bro, which was quite funny because there was no indication before that they were this affectionate to each one. cute though.

we can't help but see spoilers like on twitter. the spoilers beat them to it. you know the feeling that you waited for long hours, and the episode is this short, but then the only thing you haven't seen yet are the filler scenes. it makes me feel like the waiting isn't worth it.

maybe the creators were trying to make it so much about the women's struggles. Manyi was a waste of character/scene, pure green tea 婊 *itch, then just ended up as cannon fodder.

for the meantime, I'm gonna head over to the other airing dramas or go back to the backlogs like Blossoms of Power and Key to the Phoenix Heart.
I'll try to stay away from this so as to not get irritated with the pacing.

at this rate their going with the plot, all your hopes are blurry and the most likely latter episodes will be rushed and undeveloped.

i just cringed a little when he said "my queen" because it kinda sounded like twink instead of queen. but it's the accent, which is normal. just need time to wrap my head around the whole concept like, yes they're koreans but the story is set in europe in a fantasy kingdom so anything is possible. i haven't read the webtoon. is this gonna be like a reverse bridgerton in kdrama flavor? let's see.

of course he lied to his friend. same way that she goes first to say that it was just an accident that most adults do. She can't reveal to him that she felt something and was actually expecting him to profess his love- make it official.
He can't reveal to his snoopy friend that he is falling for this girl.. So the friend's comment that she left the bag on purpose playing hard to get, triggered his alarm. He won't accept that she might become similar to the other women who went crazy for him. He wants to believe that she is different, because he cares for her.
Both of them are lying or trying to hide their feelings. they're afraid/can't confront the complexities of the relationship. He's her cold strict icy boss, she's his subordinate at work. Both of them want to keep their images up, because they both think that falling in love is losing control.

Yeah, that’s actually no surprise for me. ive been a fan of HSJ since 1% with somin, and he has this baby face that would take many years before he starts to really show signs of aging.

the actor for heung sik looks so old. he's almost like a father to the Han siblings.

I watched My Father is Strange. thank goodness it was already finished airing. i love the family dynamic especially with the three sisters. and I kinda see that pattern here with the Han siblings.
