Struggle to finish

I thought I would enjoy this but oh boy I was wrong, from the cheesy acting to the back play of the previous episode that takes almost 1/2 of the new episode at times, I feel like I could have spent these 10 hours on something waaaay more productive.

I will break it down for you, at first the plot seemed pretty interesting to begin with but I soon lost interest as the absurdity grew out of control. It made no sense at all who could drive the vehicle or what it even did. Sure it was funny at times but they kept emphasising the same joke over and over i'm sure even a 5 year old would of got tired of it.

I was not fond of the acting either, it was way to exaggerated and childish. I just could not like any of the characters, whether they were just ignorant and dense all the time or just annoying to watch. I became very bored of the main romance and even the supporting roles romances were a struggle to watch.

The music I cannot really comment on as I do not watch dramas for their music, nothing really struck out to me, but nothing irritated me either.

The rewatch value? Do not watch it in the first place. I could recommend you plenty other historical dramas that you should spend 10 hours on rather than this.

Sweet and Happy

For once a gay relationship drama has a happy ending! I am so happy for this couple as I am normally left heartbroken after watching something LGBT+ and had began to avoid dramas like these.

Although it says it is a 5 part drama I see it more as a movie, being around 1hr 20min long. I just wish I could see more of the couple but for how long it ran for you could see the character development evolve so much. I love how steamy the main couple are, I am just so happy that they found happiness. The traumatic backstory is quite common for these dramas but it still breaks my heart to see people are still treated this way due to personal preferences.

This drama gives a good insight into the struggles some people can have if you differ from the norm, and how even just one person on your side can help change your future for the better.

If you are fond of LGBT+ dramas and have had your heart broken too many times by these, I would recommend this to you.

Rom-Com at it's finest!

I don't understand why this drama had so much hate! I really enjoyed it! Sure it was rough around the edges and a bit over the top at times but you are told its a rom-com but its so much more than just that!

The story was decent, a little hard to follow at times as there are that many "couples" in this drama. Each couple had their own problems as usual with these types of dramas but the contrast with all the storylines keeps it interesting. It was not purely focused on romance either, there was just friendships and even LGBT+ elements in this too which I enjoyed the variety. Not all couples had a happy ending you would have hoped but that makes it all the more realistic as not everyone gets the happiness they deserve. Sure this drama can be pretty cheesy at times but it's a comedy, it keeps it lighthearted but does get serious when it needs to be.

I really enjoyed the cast, especially the fact that they included quite a few "newbies" into acting at the time, and I could not tell at all with them mixed in with the veterans they were that good.

I noticed a couple of songs I recognised but I do not watch dramas for their music.

I would recommend this to anyone who does not mind a cheesy rom-com that keeps everything lighthearted and wants to be entertained! ^^

Amazing cast with no plot.

I tried so hard to love this drama. I really did, I love a good bit of classical music and I enjoyed those segments, and for what the cast had to deal with they did an amazing job. A drama without a plot, or maybe a very unknown one is very hard to do.

I could not find a plot is this whole drama. I did not understand where it was going, all it seemed it was about was 2 groups of friends falling out with each other due to some silly reason, be it randomly falling in love with someone or sometimes for no reason what so ever. As the episodes dragged on it became harder and harder to watch, It seemed like it was just set in a music school rather than actually about the music or progression at all. This really frustrated me as I was hoping for some kind of ups and downs of an aspiring musician kind of plot, and instead got something I would expect from secondary school children, not a bunch of almost 30 year olds.

For what the cast was given to work with, they did a very good job of portraying their characters, it is just a shame that nothing came out of their good acting and instead it all bundled into a big mess.

I cannot fault this for its music choices, they did pick good pieces when you did hear them. Not as often as I would have liked though.

Except from maybe the 1/2hr of hearing them play music, I found this drama a waste of my time. I would not recommend this to anyone unless for the music pieces.

Soothing to Watch

This drama is something else entirely. It was beautiful and even though a slice of life and very slow paced, it used every second to further develop the characters to make them even more loveable.

The story is one you wish your self in sometimes, it reminded me of a fairytale yet still very realistic and even dark at times. this variant of topics discussed in this drama is what keeps you hooked onto it. It is set in a lovely little place and i wish everywhere was like that, so caring for other townsfolk, all the characters introduced had their own little story and none were dropped halfway through once it was finished, they kept all the cast on till the end. When the weather is fine does have characters with traumatic backgrounds and the usual sad story, but it does not override the warm fuzzy feeling this drama gave me whilst I watched it.

The acting was phenomenal. From the youngest to the oldest you could tell they enjoyed being there and gave it their all. The cast was well picked for this drama and I enjoyed everyones screen time.

Music and rewatch value are low as I do not really rate music or rewatch dramas.

I would recommend this to anyone that can cope with a very slow slice of life. Its definitely worth it!

Tears every Episode

This drama is too good. I binged watched this and cried several times in every episode. You feel as if you are there yourself, it is not too overdramatic does not seem that far fetched for a street to be so closely knit like this one.

I loved the story. I mean LOVE it, even the parts that didn't seem important at the time all become relevant and you could see the events (well most) happening on any street. It made me miss back when I used to have friends round and we would all watch movies and have snacks. I also enjoyed the way it was told in the sense that there is parts "filmed" in the future but not so often it felt very documentary like (which has put me off some dramas in the past).

It was very well put together and all the actors and actresses were amazing also. The bond between them all seemed like proper childhood ones and all the little romances kept me laughing and in shock with the twists also.

All I can really say is that I wish I lived in Ssangmun-dong.

Got Boring Quick

I thought the concept of this Taiwanese drama very interesting and cute but it failed to keep me interested throughout the rest of the drama. It began really well and I loved the main couple but as the episodes dragged on It became more of something I would have on in the background rather investing all my time in it.

The story was decent, although unrealistic at points and at times confusing. It also felt very prolonged as if the story was not long enough for the episodes it was given. I enjoyed the concept of a night market business giving influence on a prestigious restaurant and for the first several episodes I really enjoyed it!

The acting in this drama was great! I enjoyed the spunk and attitude that Ivy Shao gave to this drama and Chris Wu really gelled well with Ivy Shao.

The music was so-so but an average rating given as I do not watch dramas for their music.

I would recommend this to anyone not wanting to invest too much thought or time into a drama and would have it in the background as it is just too long to keep you invested in it for too long.

Stunning

The acting in this was the best I have seen in a good while. It's what definitely got me hooked on this, I couldn't stop watching Shin Hae Sun.

The story was amazing, enough twists to keep you interested but not too many to confuse you. It was a very linear drama which had the main focus happen right the way through and I would say perfect till the end where I just didn't really understand the ending but for those 30 seconds I can forgive it :)

Shin Hae Sun was definitely the "prima ballerina" in this drama, she was outstanding in portraying Lee Yeon Seo and the difficulties she had gone through. Kim Myung Soo also did an amazing job being very cutesy and innocent but was definitely outshone by his counterpart.

the music was average, as I don't watch dramas for their music it gets a middle score like most other reviews I have done.

I would recommend this to anyone who would like to go on a cutesy rollercoaster ride with enough twists and turns to keep your eyes peeled!

Adorable Dorky Drama

I enjoyed watching this drama, It was a refreshing change from the heartbreak dramas I usually watch. It was simple, cutesy and the chemistry between both main characters made it worthwhile to watch. At times some of the story felt rushed and I felt at times the some characters had unnecessary backstories but for 41 episodes it's kept me wanting more after every episode!

The story for Go Go Squid! was a pretty simple and lighthearted one with minor hiccups but that was a nice change from the confusing and heartbreaking storylines that most dramas have. The ending felt a touch rushed but overall it kept me hooked for all 41 episodes which is rare for myself!

The acting was stunning as most the relationships seemed believable and nothing seemed over exaggerated and the skinship felt real as well. All characters felt unique even though there were many characters in this drama, and they all kept it realistic.

Again with music, nothing good or bad, but I don't watch dramas for their music.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a lighthearted drama with no major twist and turns, even though it is a C-drama it still is amazing!!

Dark Masterpiece

I loved this. I was up well past my time to sleep just to finish this as I could not stop watching this. I went through all kinds of emotions watching Save Me as it keeps you on your toes.

The story is very creepy and dark, but it fits well with the story this drama is going for. It explores hard subjects as bullying, death and cults very well and the ending wraps MOST of my questions about Save Me. The pacing in this drama is also very good, slightly slow to begin with but it picked up pretty quickly and kept the suspense up till the end of it. There are still some questions left unanswered but it wraps all the main ending and side stories so I guess it is just my curiosity getting the better of me. ^^

The cast was phenomenal, I cannot fault the acting whatsoever. They did an amazing job portraying all the different characters in Save Me, especially the main characters parents on how they showed their mental state changing as the drama progresses.

Once again music does not get a high score as I do not watch dramas for their music and nothing really struck out as amazing. The rewatch value is quite low also as I don't normally rewatch dramas either.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone that would like to watch something pretty dark and creepy or even someone who wants to watch amazing acting! :)

I enjoyed this drama, especially how it shows character development with the main lead Kim Bon and how one can soften after such a difficult past.

The story of this seemed quite intriguing and interesting and it managed to follow it in a linear way pretty well. It did seem messy at times, but it cleaned itself up as the drama went on. The whole single mother drama is not new but this seemed like nothing I had seen before as the mother Go Ae Rin was very tough. This is pretty uncommon for more recent dramas as normally the female lead is very emotionally dependant on someone, but it is otherwise in this drama.

I liked the acting in this drama. Jung In Sun did very well in portraying an independent mother, whilst So Ji Sub was amazing in portraying a cold, hurt man who was wanting to change.

I would recommend this drama to anyone who is wanting to watch a lovely rom-com with serious matters intwined within. :)

Heartwarming to the core

This drama was so heartwarming that I could not put it down and was up till 03:30 after beginning it just so I could finish it in one setting! I was skeptical at first to start this as I find young child actors can ruin a drama due to inexperience and it also seemed a bit cliche but after the first couple of episodes it blew all my worries out of the water, it was amazing.

The story at first seems a bit cliche but it varies quite a bit with all the sisters stories, even having the male have the child instead of the female is a refreshing change. It shows you some of the struggles a single parent can have trying to find love again and how situations can make you a lot more skeptical.

The romance between the main characters was cute! The way the female lead was so warm towards the son just made my heart melt. I enjoyed watching the younger sister for her spunkiness and the older sisters story was very interesting but also very saddening with the situation she had gotten herself into. The were so caring and worried for their son and how they did not want him heartbroken again and the typical parents dictating the females romance life for the daughters that is found quite common in dramas.

I would recommend this to anyone and everyone! Its too beautifully done to miss!

An Enjoyable Watch

I found this drama really uplifting and inspirational with there being several different paths to choose from and the most obvious one does not mean you have to travel it.

I enjoyed the story in this, I tend to avoid school dramas but since it was centred around the teachers I did not mind as much. The pacing felt almost slice of life with quite a few time jumps towards the end, probably due to episode constraints or timing issues. It also shows all types of teachers, the good, bad and the ugly side of education and it also shows that sometimes not getting the best results does not mean you are going to live an unhappy life. I also liked the fact it centred around a group of varied teachers, rather than all young or old, but a mix with different aspirations. Black Dog also gives an insight to how much a teachers life centres around their students as even after hours they can be a source to rely on in times of need.

The acting in this drama was great, even the school kids did a good job, as i struggle to watch children in dramas due to their inexperience in front of a camera can be quite off putting. The cost did a great job of portraying different types of teachers and the struggles they could have outside of school hours.

Once again I do not rate music or rewatch value high as I do not normally rewatch dramas nor do I watch them for their music.

I would recommend this to someone who wants to watch a character develop with all the emotions attached :)

Dragged on too long but still cute (:

Whilst I loved watching this Drama I felt like it could have ended several episodes earlier. It had an amnesia feel to it, just to make it last several more episodes.

For a drama produced in 2012 and watching it in 2021 I actually did not find this drama dated as I do with some older dramas. The plot was very solid until the end where it felt very dragged out and problems arose that were not really realistic for this drama. I do love a rich man/ poor woman drama and this falls into this category completely. A lovely rom com to watch if you have the time, maybe jsut gloss over the last episodes as it kind of dwindles.

I adored Cha Seung Jo and his quirky nature, he was adorable as Park Shi Hoo did an amazing portrayal of a goofy and lovable man. Moon Geun Young was also a very good actress and portrayed the female lead well.

The music in this drama I found quite amusing at times. I recognised quite a few songs that were popular around the release of this drama. They used good songs to show the more goofy side of Cha Seung Jo.

I rated the rewatch value pretty low as I normally don not watch a drama twice, as most of my reviews shows this.

Even if have not watched this and are worried if it dated, I would still give this drama a shot. :)

Loved hating this

Watching this drama made my blood boil. I guess that was the whole reason of this drama was to despise Lee Tae Oh and I wholeheartedly did. Seeing the rollercoaster that was the divorce unfold in this and the many obstacles that Ji Sun Woo had to overcome just to keep her son infuriated me. This drama was very good in its story and the cast were extremely good at keeping you hooked on the storyline.
If there was a fault to this it would be that I would have liked to see some of the side characters storyline come to an end, as there are sooo many questions i have that are left unanswered.
Park Hae Joon does an amazing job at making you want to hate his character and even though Han So Hee is supposedly the bad guy, she makes you feel guilty for hating her characters and the struggles she goes through.
It is a hard drama to watch sometimes but it is a nice break from all the lovey dovey dramas I have been watching recently.
If you are ready to cry your heart out and it to leave you aching, this is for you.
