I'm loving this drama so much so far. It's nice to see a relatable lead when they travel back in time, because most people accept it in the first 10 minutes of them travelling back, while our FL actually questioned things and went through phases of shock. I love the chemistry of the leads, too. If I didn't see the comments sections, I wouldn't even know about the age gap. I hope the drama doesn't disappoint in the future.
i've just heard about this weird ban now lol i only knew of them banning bls from being shown in chinese platforms
Oh. I don't watch BL, so I wasn't aware of the heavy censorship. I mean, I would assume it's heavily censored given how censored even normal shows are, but I didn't think it was this extreme. Thanks for the insight.

I remember searching it up once, and I'm pretty sure they've had laws against things like rebirth and time travel since around 2010. It's so that people don't believe in supernatural things and don't disrespect history or something like that. But I never knew of a law against BL, because aren't there so many BL and FL cdramas?
Decided to give this a try and am now 2 episodes in. Safe to say I am obsessed with this show now. I love the FL's facial expressions so much. The story has me hooked, but I've seen some clips on TikTok of sad scenes, and I don't do well with trauma dramas or sad dramas, which is why I usually stay away from costume dramas, but I'm crossing my fingers for this one.
This is my first K-drama, and I was wondering if Korea has the same restrictions as China when it comes to topics such as time travel in their dramas? For C-dramas, all time-travel-based dramas end with it being a coma, a dream, or a book that was written by the main character, since time travel is banned from being shown in any drama, and I was wondering if Korea has the same laws.
Never watched a costume K-drama before, but it's going well so far. I really like the comedy and culinary theme of the drama, and I really hope they don't turn it into some heavy political mystery drama in the end. It's giving me the same vibes and a good hook in the beginning as 'Tastefully Yours', a drama that aired a few months ago, but I hope they don't ruin it like they did with that one.
I'm a huge fan of Xu Kai, but I don't know if I should watch this show cause I'm not really into costume dramas since they usually don't have much romance in them. Could someone please tell me if there's a lot of romance so I can decide whether to watch it or not?
I would be watching this since it seems interesting, but I can smell the angst and sadness a MILE away, so I'm gonna sit this one out for the sake of my mental health.
I don't really watch Xianxia dramas, or any costume dramas in fact, but I've seen really good things about this drama on all platforms, and apparently, it has a lot of kisses, which I live for. Can someone tell me if it's worth giving it a shot? Does it have a lot of romance, or is it super focused on the other stuff? Because I usually like a very romance-heavy show.
I don't even know how to rate this any more.... bc even if I found the villain arc of the ex very ridiculous I…
I found the villain arc of the ex actually a little interesting. While it was clearly just a small filler plot, it added a little adrenaline. And I expected the ending too, so with all that in mind, I gave it a strong 9.5. I've learned that it's best to ignore the ending and write your own for dramas like this.
Even though I saw the ending coming from a mile away before I even started the drama, I feel so utterly heartbroken and betrayed. For the sake of my mental health, the show stopped at the proposal, because I can't even think about all of Xue Jiao's hard work going down the drain, her family's lives all being horrible, all the side characters' amazing character development being undone, and the fact that Gao Rui wasn't saved. If I do, I might start crying and not stop for days. After choosing to ignore the ending, this drama gets a 9.5 from me.
I might give it a try once we get some trailers and more info about it. I usually like watching fully romance revolving ramas with only a few exceptions, though, so I'm highly doubtful that I'll like it.
