Title Second Shot at Love Spoiler
I'm getting kinda annoyed at BSU's sister now. At first, her behaviour was understandable since she raised him and everything, and just wanted him to find a good person. And it was even a little understandable when she attacked Geum Ju since she thought she was two-timing Ui Jun and Seon Uk (even though she shouldn't have attacked her in the middle of the street before giving her a chance to explain). But it is absolutely unnecessary and hypocritical of her to say that Geum Ju isn't worthy of Seon Uk just because of a broken engagement, especially after she knew it was her ex who cheated and not her alcoholism. And don't even get me started on how she was looking down on divorcees right in front of her divorced "best friend". Her mother-in-law treats her badly just because of her background, and now she wants to do the same thing to any prospective sister in law she might have? After everything we've seen about her, all I'm getting is that she's a bad friend and a sister without boundaries. I hope she actually understands her mistakes and apologizes to everyone before getting a good redemption arc, or that the other characters come to their senses and put her in her place. Either way, she's insufferable. Thank you for reading my rant, if you did read the whole thing. I know it's a bit long, but I just had to get out all of my feelings about this.

i was more interested in the ML story but they wrapped it so quick now that they're dating i lost interest
Well, there's definitely more to it since we saw the head nurse talk to his father with all that hate in her voice. The only thing about him that's been revealed is why he quit and why he feels guilty and stuff. There's a lot more suspense left for the rest of the story, though. Personally, I can't wait to find out more.

Just finished episode 8, now that the subplot with the ex is over and we're finally back on track with the main plot, it's a lot better. Episode 8 finally brought us back to the main plot, and I'm just excited to see if they can manage to end it properly by tying it all together in a good ending. Honestly, they could've made the drama 8 episodes and cut out the Japan arc and had the ex show up in only one episode. It would've made it less boring, but everything adds to the character development, I guess. Can't wait to see how it ends. I hope everyone gets a happy and deserved ending.

Yoo Yeon Seok Could’ve definitely said no to this drama.
I was excited to see him in a cameo, but it turned into basically a supporting character. It would've been fun if he was just there for a little jealousy and feeling stirring in like half an episode, but giving him his own sub-plot worth 2+ episodes is overdoing it.

I'm on episode 6 right now. This show had such a great and promising beginning, but after the ex arc started, it's all going downhill. I had really high hopes for this to be just a light-hearted show about cooking with an enemies-to-lovers plot. I didn't expect it to have so much angst and just unnecessary filler plots. At this point, watching it is starting to feel like a chore and not sitting down to enjoy a drama. I just don't have the heart to drop it since I'm curious about the ending, so I'm watching it on 2x speed. I hope they can redeem it in the final episodes next week, even just a little.

Loved the drama, especially the second half of it after they got into university. The couple's communication skills and chemistry were really good. I also loved the second couple. The only downside was the kiss scenes and how badly executed they were, but it's easy to look past when considering all the other aspects of the drama. It's a great story about young love and is pretty different from other dramas since it starts in the summer before university, which I've never seen before. Overall, gave it 9 stars. This will be going on my list of comfort shows to rewatch for sure. Hope to see more of the actors soon in other projects.

A lot of people complain about the FL's acting, but am I the only one who actually thinks her straight pokerface…
I love her acting and the way she brought this character to life, too. Everything is really good, even the romance and the flirting. There's no denying the chemistry between the leads. I think most people are mad about the bad attempts at the fake kisses more than the actual actress and her boundaries, tbh. Like, if they found a workaround and made it less fake, I think nobody would have a problem with it.

y are there no kiss scenes? is she underage?
From what I've heard, it's just because she's not comfortable doing kissing scenes like some other actresses or something about her family being strict. This is just my VERY limited knowledge that I've acquired from the other comments in the comments section, though, so I may be wrong.

I’m on Vikis schedule. I’ve just watched up to fifteen. Do things go bad after his return? I don’t mind…
They don't necesarilly go bad... basically he just doesn't tell her that he's back because he doesn't know how she will feel about it and she gets mad when she finds out he's been back for a while and didn't tell her so she gives him the cold shoulder and ignores him for a while. But this is all just for the span of one episode. At the end of episode 16, they make up. Episode 17 has some small misunderstandings that get resolved before the end of the episode, tho. Basically, they face some small difficulties, but everything gets resolved in the same episode, so it isn't a hard watch (except for the god awful kiss scenes). Hope that helps!

It's too bad that Zhou Shen is wasting his beautiful singing and his talent for OSTs, for this flop of a drama.
I'm honestly really glad we atleast have the amazing OST because it's the one thing that's saving all these horrible attempts at kiss scenes. Every time I hear that song, I get butterflies. It just changes the whole mood. As much as this drama is definitely not the best in terms of the romance, it's gonna be one of the best of the year with its OST for me.

Totally agree. Although this is the first project I've seen for both the leads, I can clearly see that they're…
I get what you mean. As much as I don't wanna blame or hate on any actors for things they can't necessarily control, there could have been at least a little more thought on her and her team's side as to what kind of script they're choosing. Why ruin a whole drama that affects the hundreds of people who work on it just because you don't know your skills and can't be flexible or even put in any effort if you want to try new things. You know? Even if this was supposed to help her ease into the romance genre, they should've picked something with less physicality to help her slowly get used to it and test the waters instead of throwing her into the deep end like this.

That random couple kissing in the hallway had more chemistry in their kiss in 5 seconds than the main leads have had in 17 episodes. I wonder if that was thrown in there on purpose by the director as some form of teasing. Like showing us what we could and should have, only to remind us that it's not. I really like everything about this show except that there are SO many ways they could have improved the kiss scenes. At this point, the only people I'm blaming are the casting crew and the director. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to put a strictly no kiss actress on a show whose FL fully revolves around and mentions kissing so much should have prepared a way to still have the kiss scenes, like with a stunt double or something, or kept their mouth shut in the first place. It's honestly just a shame to see both of the main leads' efforts potentially go to waste if this flops because of the lack of chemistry they have when they "kiss". And to be honest, that's the outcome that seems most likely right now.

No offense to Liu Haocun shes and amazing actress, loved her in just for meeting you. But couldn't they have casted…
Totally agree. Although this is the first project I've seen for both the leads, I can clearly see that they're both great actresses. And LHC does the romance part well too, like their flirting scenes have SO much chemistry. I just feel like to prevent the actors and the drama itself from getting hate, they could've cast someone who does kissing scenes, rewritten the script in a way to make it a drama with no kiss scenes at all (since there are many that do it well), or even hired a stunt double just for the kisses. Any of those options would've been enough to make it a much better drama. I haven't read the novel, but a lot of people in the comments say that it's really good and the kiss scenes add a lot to it, so the creators of the drama clearly didn't think this through fully before filming it. But again, no hate to anyone, I just think that with a few changes, it could've joined TFF and TBT as one of the best dramas of 2025.

I just found the 9 extra BTS episodes that IQIYI released and am watching them. It's like little extensions of the show. I especially like it because they all refer to the actors and characters as different people. Like in one of the interviews, Xu Ruo Han talks about how she felt her heart flutter for He Suye when they were filming a few scenes, and made sure to separate them by also saying Zhang Ling He is a good actor and talking about his acting methods, like his expressive eyes. It gives the show a more realistic vibe by making it seem like the characters are real people while also not subjecting the actors to being shipped or put in uncomfortable situations by certain questions.

I've finished 11 episodes and I LOVE the plot and chemistry SO much. I just wish we could get real kissing scenes. It would bring so much more to the show instead of just showing their shadows or panning to some random leaves outside. It kinda makes it more comical than romantic, cause they keep mentioning kissing when we never even see anything.

how in the world can both look so similar when they aren't related. Ken wu and wu lei are too similar to ignore
That's what I'm saying! They even have the same last name! Can't be a coincidence.

So the stalker is the doctors dad who’s just mad cause he didn’t pay off his debt? 😂 wtf Thinking he got…
Well, a lot of people are thinking the nurse is his mom, but my theory is that she's his mom's sister or friend or something like that, since they said his mom died of childbirth.

I guess instead of a crazy stalker/ex patient’s family, the creep is Ui Jun’s bio dad. Wondering why he didn’t…
I was thinking the same thing, but it was said that his bio-mom died during childbirth, which is a hard cause of death to fake or anything like that. Even if she wasn't really dead and woke up again, the hospital would've called their family. My best guess right now is that she's just a relative of his mom that he doesn't know, like her sister she was really close to or something like that.
