I think Qi Min was the architect of Yuanqing’s extreme ruthless side. Without him, Yuanqing might still have been ruthless, but at least he would have been more human.

Tutor Li believes he is outsmarting everyone in court, but he is just overestimating himself and is most likely playing right into Wei Yan, Xie Zheng and Qi min's hands.

Her entire motive for joining the war is to save people. Right after she sees Li, she treats him as a friend, he is in a near death state, and still wants to fight and even die.

Yes, she knows it’s not her choice to make, but she believes everything will be okay if she wins the war as quickly as possible. She is just a simple girl, only beginning to understand these things. She doesn’t know anything about soldier's honor or the deeper philosophies of War. All she cares about is living and keeping her people alive. Yes, her choice to knock him out is not what he wants and it's against his Will, but it reflects her character and her way of thinking. Also, this is war. It’s not about respecting one’s wishes, but about winning. He is a crucial asset to the kingdom, so removing him from battle while he is in a near death state is a calculated decision, beneficial to the well being of kingdom. Of course, Changyu didn't think about all that. She just didn't want him to die.

Chemistry between characters or actors doesn’t have to be romantic, even creepy vibes can count as chemistry. But most of the edits I’ve seen ship them romantically, which is a bit upsetting.

No, Changyu didn’t kiss anyone. Su Yuanqing only said that to provoke Xie Zheng.

He didn’t forcefully kiss her because he thought someone else had kissed her. For the past few days, Xie Zheng had been trying to avoid getting intimate with Changyu because he knew he had to leave and didn’t want to drag her into his mess. However, after being provoked, the thought of another man touching her or her finding someone else to love made him lose control. During that confrontation, he realized how unwilling he was to let her go or allow another man to touch her. Yes, his actions were wrong, and I’m not defending him.

Su Yuan Qing taunted Xie Zheng by saying that Fan Chang Yu’s lips tasted sweet, which clearly provoked him. Xie Zheng managed to control himself in front of Fan Chang Yu, but having to leave her and the words exchanged between them frustrated him, and he then lost control.

I have mixed feelings about this drama. Every decision Su Cheng Cheng takes to hide her secret from Tang Qi is stupid, and there are better ways to handle it without needing to spend so much money and effort staging acts again and again. But if the FL chose a logical and better way to do things, then the show wouldn’t be as hilarious and funny as it is. So I’m honestly hanging between loving it and hating it.

The SFL is desperate for power to keep her uncle in check, and marrying Ji Bozai would satisfy that need. As a princess in a realm that disapproves of women in power, she sought Jbz as a political proxy. However, Jbz is unwilling. Yes, as a viewer it's kinda annoying to watch, but she is simply doing everything she can to survive. Also, she matures quickly and stops her persistent attempts to marry JBZ.

SFL wants a marriage alliance with Ji Bozai to gain political strength, but he refuses her. It is also clear that she has no genuine feelings for him. So nothing happens between them.

I'm in ep 14 and I have a question: Xiahou Dan has the world’s strongest person, Mr. Bai, by his side, so why didn’t he simply order Mr. Bai to kill Xiahou Bo? Yes, Xiahou Bo has all the support he needs to stay hidden and gather information, but he has no knowledge of who Mr. Bai is or his ability to disguise himself. So if it were planned properly, he could have killed Xiahou Bo. With Xiahou Bo dead, his faction would have been in shambles, giving Xiahou Dan the time and opportunity to figure things out, right?

Great cast, but I didn’t like any of the main characters. The OST was good, but the story felt average, and the love story in particular was terrible. I didn’t find myself rooting for any of the ships. Still, the drama was entertaining overall.

I’m not saying he’s underwhelming because he isn’t manly enough or for not taking the lead, but it feels like his entire existence is nothing without her. I don’t know how to put it into words, but it’s like he has no will of his own apart from protecting the FL. Yeah it feels like his character is incomplete. Maybe it’s because of how little they showed us about him.
