I loved the early episodes of WDBTD, but later I just skipped parts other than the main couple's screen time. At some point I stopped caring about the plot and other characters; it felt quite dragging, but the main couple was fire.
Episode 13 was full of speculations and no concrete evidence, so she can still lie her way out. JBZ literally fought against Ming Xian and saw his face and build; Ming Yi's build is totally different. So how can JBZ be convinced that Ming Yi is Ming Xian without irrefutable evidence?

I think it is more complicated than merely adding run time. She trusts him, but she cannot risk her life by telling him the truth. She doesn't believe he will give her the golden millet; instead, she believes it will only make it harder for her to get it. You should also consider the type of life she led. It kind of helps understand why she was unable to bring herself to tell JBZ the truth.

Before that artifact, regardless of what she said, it wouldn't work, and she couldn't manipulate the artifact as easily as Ji Bozai without exposing herself, and I think she took a back seat because that was the best option there.

She wants to at least cure herself and gain the power back to protect herself before telling the truth. Whether or not she fell for Ji Bozai, even her spiritual beast hesitated about answering to her master.
