That’s why it’s there. Because she just assumed it without asking him which is wrong. That’s why they put it in the series. Even though she’s also a LGBT+ member she still assumed which shows flaws in the character. And it is so true in the real world, People just assume. This way people know that it’s not ok to just assume. They don’t have to specifically say that in the series because I got the message that they were trying to deliver. And I think viewers are smart enough to understand that.
