Most of China thinks it's garbage. Because it is. But the fangirls on MDL make the rating system on here a joke to everyone outside MDL. I'm giving up on this site. It's a joke and not worth my time.

So sick of fangirls uprating literal trash. Again, this one has a low 6.4 on Douban, because it's garbage. Here on MDL, a stupidly high 8.6. No wonder MDL ratings are looked at as not remotely reliable. Fangirls lusting after average actors and so uprating amateurish written scripts. What a joke.

Garbage, and dead easy to understand why it has earned a laughably low 5.4 on Douban. At least Chinese viewers can discern between good and trash, unlike many fan girls on here.

Different genres but Overdo is much better. Mystic Nine is draggy and boring. Don't recommend.

It's a SEQUEL. A prequel would mean the events happen BEFORE the 2016 drama. They don't.

None of it makes sense and nothing gets more interesting. The whole thing is like watching paint dry it's so boring. Don't know where you're at but I've dropped it at Episode 11.

Didn't think it was possible to write something this boring. Struggled to Episode 11, hate everything about it. It's not interesting, scary, funny, enlightening, or exciting. Only boring. I'd rather poke needles in my eyes than watch anymore of this. 3/10

All four leads are great and it's well written although it is the same writer as Crash Course in Romance so to be expected IMO.

But she can't act and she's proven it in The First Jasmine as she's given the most wooden, most emotionless performance in a Chinese drama all year. I dropped it at Episode 31 due to both her and Cheng Lei being laughably bad in their roles and the writing becoming stupidity personified.

Watched most of Ep31 on doublespeed including his scene after she left, which was amateurishly acted with over-the-top, inauthentic emotions. He's not a good actor, and he's not good looking. I'm still trying to figure out why he has been so successful? He's average in everything at best. Anyway I dropped this after Ep31 as the writing has become insanely stupid and Bai Lu's acting has gotten worse as the drama goes on. The only good thing about this is at least both the two main actors have amateur acting skills so they're not destroying a talented actor's performance who would have been playing opposite them otherwise.

It's nasty isn't it. One reason why I'm moving back to watching K-dramas. Sick of the Chinese spewing blood every 10 seconds, nasty and disgusting.

Her character is written badly and Bai Lu is performing it like she's a store window mannequin. One of worst performances I've seen in a Chinese drama this year but no worries I'll stick her on my list of actresses to avoid from now on as she is completely unable to act and it's all good.

Come on, she hardly ever changes her facial expression. It's like she's been covered in plastic and daren't move her face in case it wrinkles.

The entire drama has collapsed into moronicness. Garbage writing and a simple drop.

She isn't btw and half of China agrees with her. Read Weibo and Douban comments and you'll see Bai Lu's poor acting is attacked by millions of Chinese. Your biggest mistake is trying to have an intelligent discussion with fan girls. As impossible things go it's close to the top of the pile.
