I could relate to the 8th episode of this show. I wanted to die like the main character of this ep twice. First, when I was a student. My teacher's double-standard grading ruined my life. There was no way to get a good grade from him. The second time, I felt like that, was when I worked. I worked 7 days a week and also at night. I lost my goal and destiny, and I had no life-expectancy. I wish all students and all workers would be fine. I just pray for them. You do not have only your job, but you also have your life and your family too. Cheer up to everyone!Was this review helpful to you?
Thailand in this film was too dirty.
Thailand is a nice place to work and to visit. However, in this movie, many scenes are so dirty, unlike the real Thailand. The dialogs contains much more rude and offensive words, comparing to what Thai people really speak in their real life. The film presents Thailand in very negative way. Thai producer and director should see Indonesian horror movies. They could present their country and their people in positive way.Was this review helpful to you?
Sick, narcissistic toxic j3*k
As always, this drama/show repeats the same old trope I have seen in many other shows. They are a childish female protagonist and the toxic male one, who acted like a jerk, full of toxicity and narcissistic. I do not know why they try to promote Stockholm syndrome in women viewers. Women, in real life, should not accept these behaviors in their boyfriends or husbands.Was this review helpful to you?

First show I knew Jeremy Tsui/Xu, and the First Chinese show I watched
In 2025, I unintentionally subscribed a streaming service in Thailand. I randomly picked a show, and I hit this one. Frankly, I felt attracted to Jeremy Xu. You know what? As it is the first show I know, I feel like, wth, why don't they make this 5 seasons, about 8-10 eps per a season. I learned about Chinese TV shows, like, they did not separate, even many times, the story could be completed case by case.The supporting female character is more favorable for me than the main female protagonist. I like strong and independent women, not the liar or fragile one.
I wish there are more and more Chinese shows with independent women. And I have never understood those female authors who write negative role for female leading characters, even the authors are also women.

ฉากการต่อสู้เป็นที่น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจมาก ผมชองการแก้ปัญหาในตอนท้าย ฉันชอบไอเดีย มันสนุกที่จะดูวัยรุ่นเกย์แสดงโดยมีเรื่องราวที่ซับซ้อนมากกว่าที่จะมีเพียงเรื่องความรักหรือเพศสัมพันธส่วนที่ชอบที่สุดของรายการนี้คือตอนปิดเรื่อง แม้ว่าจะมีคนสามารถคาดเดาได้ แต่ฉันก็ยังคิดว่า มันเป็นความคิดสร้างสรรค์ที่จะจบแบบนี้

Machiavellianistic FL?
I do not know what this show tried to teach their viewers. The point-of-view character is the female protagonist. She lied hundred times to reach her goal. Every time that the empress caught her lying, she always forgave her. The empress was the one with positive personality, while the female protagonist was machiavellianistic. In my opinion, I think the one with Machiavellianism should be antagonist, not the protagonist. This is the big mistake of this show.I watched this show for Jeremy Xu actually, but his role is not important until the final episode. He did a great job in the fight scene of the final episode, while I did not feel anything worth-to-watch in all other eps.

Guessable
10 Stars for female characters and actresses. All women could perform their own role, different apart from one another. However, male characters or actors act very very similar. They do not only look similar in their appearance (2 pairs of men are so similar), they also act like they have the same personality. These men are similar to those men in Blossoms of Power (2026). They all act the same. I do not know why the producers or directors do not ask these actors to perform as different persons. I believe these actors could do it. They are human with a good career (or maybe with good acting skills), they are not robot.Was this review helpful to you?
Try-to-be-MadMax Korean film
This is the try-to-be-MadMax Korean film, like, the dystopia and with problem about water, and someone with clean water got the power. However, I do not blame them for being a big fan of Mad Max, because everyone loves Mad Max. The thing I do not like about this film is the "Women in refrigerators" trope. It's when the female characters got captured or got hurt, and that motivate male characters to save her or even revenge.Was this review helpful to you?
Problematic gender bias
Again with Korean film, with horror genre about Buddhism. And the theme is to blame women to every bad thing happened, and in contrast, they portrayed men as the one who solved the problem. I do not want to blame the actors or actresses. The negative outcome is based on the plot itself. I hope their viewers are fine and do not take this serious.Was this review helpful to you?
Male gaze
Some scenes were shot for men to see and to prefer. This is not new for film made in the particular country.The main male protagonist was too good to be real, especially in the country which this film was made.
This is for pleasing male audiences to be able to view themselves as the good one. You know, many could be as good as that only for short period of time, and the audiences could feel it from the character. I think it is a kind of brain mechanisms.

Unexpected Endling!
First, when I started to watch this film, I guess that it would end like Hollywood rom-com and not interesting. However, it is unexpected ending! I have never expected to see good ending like this even in Hollywood. But here! Chinese movie! They could make it. It's so positive. I cheer you guys, who have never watched this, to watch this. I also watched the sequel film.
It was great too, but the second film was bad at discrimination toward Japanese people. I hope to see more respect.
