I watched this for Song Yan Fei. There are many unexpected hilarious scenes for entire show. I like both main characters. It's so enjoyable to watch. First half, I had not skipped at all. It's rare for me, not to skip or play at 2x. I would cheer you guys up to watch the show. There is nothing, but laughing.

The female lead role is too childish. I don't like childish female character. I hate the particular role, but I admit, Zhao zhao yi is an excellent performer. She could make all scenes interesting. She is talented. This is one of the early Chinese shows I completed all the episodes. I also look for other work with her.

The plot is too simple

The plot is too simple, even there are much to play with when the room is allowed people from different time to communicate. My most favorite movie with similar plot it Blumhouse's Don't Let Go (2019). That story is just a movie, very short actually. The format of Love in Time is serial, not episodic series. By the length, they are allowed make this show more complex and more interesting. They did not make it. I do not know if the plot was from some novel or re-make of some old show, and I just try to guess that the pre- and production team were not allowed to change the plot.

Anti-feminism theme

The show starts as sexual independence of women. You could see women help and save other women in the story. The later part, the story continuously gets worse. You will see women try to drag other women down, and also women who chose to support men and patriarchy instead of support other women. I feel deeply disturbed and disappointed, and I could also relate this to some real-world situation. In some organizations, few women got promoted, but these women also tried to prevent other women to get promoted. And this show also reflects the truth about the glass ceiling, which does not allow women to reach a high position in organization.
Supporting female character in Chinese drama could not be survive if she did something wrong, female leading character could lie a lot and still be forgiven, and male character could make mistake multiple time and he remain hero.

Weak and fragile female police

First, I thought that the main female protagonist would be stronger than this. Very disappointed. She always needs male characters to save her, even she knows how to fight. I think this degrade women and also female police-officer in the real world. I watched the show, The New Force (2025), too. The show portray a group of female police-officers who fight like hell for the next generation and gender equality. It's so different from the female leading role in here.

I like the lovely fat couple a lot.

First, when I started watching this show, I had a negative feeling, because the female protagonist was the liar about her health, and a lot of negative stereotype about people with obesity. I do not like the way some people in the real world look down fat people. However, later, both fat characters got better role, and for me, I think both are very cute. And something I do not like about this show is that there are too many many scenes with cats. It's unnecessary. Without cats, the plot could be still the plot. There is no reason to add too many cat-related things into the story. I also saw the same actress holding cats in other shows too. In some show, she also wore a cat mask. Next time, I will avoid watching the show intensively about cats.

Interesting only at the Beginning

I think it is very new when I started watching the early episode. However, in the middle and late episodes, the plot is very boring, and similar to other shows. It is like soap opera where female characters disliked one another and tried to pull other women down. It's not enjoyable for me at all. It's a kind of Mary Sue thing.

First show I knew Jeremy Tsui/Xu, and the First Chinese show I watched

In 2025, I unintentionally subscribed a streaming service in Thailand. I randomly picked a show, and I hit this one. Frankly, I felt attracted to Jeremy Xu. You know what? As it is the first show I know, I feel like, wth, why don't they make this 5 seasons, about 8-10 eps per a season. I learned about Chinese TV shows, like, they did not separate, even many times, the story could be completed case by case.
The supporting female character is more favorable for me than the main female protagonist. I like strong and independent women, not the liar or fragile one.
I wish there are more and more Chinese shows with independent women. And I have never understood those female authors who write negative role for female leading characters, even the authors are also women.

Independent women and sisterhood

My favorite parts are independent women and sisterhood. The female protagonist is full of enthusiasm, at the level of villain in Hollywood. It's not a bad thing, but very very great. I praise the role, and I consider it as a form of empowerment. Moreover, her sister, who had not been independent at the beginning, learned more about life and gender role, and became independent finally. I enjoy the show a lot.

Gender swap ML and FL

It's not new for me to watch the female protagonist in time-traveling plot, but it is very new and very interesting that the male protagonist is the one who pretended to be someone else. I like it. It's gender swapping, compared to other shows I used to watch. Those shows, consist of the female protagonists who pretended to be someone to achieve her goal, and with which, these female characters had to lie a lot for whole story. I do not like the idea that the authors try to link women with lying. It's different from women in real world. And media should not reinforce this link to their audiences. Women should not be viewed as the liar. This is the reason that I like this show. The male protagonist took the role instead of the female one.

Excellent plot

This is the early show I know about Girl Love genre. I like the plot a lot. And I began to explore more shows with the same genre. However, other shows do not have much content like this one. That's the reason that I decide to write a review. I wish other GL shows would have much more contents and more plot other than just the love between two.

Luo Qiu Yun did an excellent job.

Watching this unintentionally. The system of streaming service just suggested it for me to watch. I don't see anything significant in this show, beside the role of Luo Qiu Yun. Although her character was the unrealistic version of female lead, she did an excellent job. Every time she was on scene, she made the scene interesting. For all other main performers, there is nothing exciting. I do not want to blame all them as the untalented or any negative, because they performed according to the writers, screenplay writer, producer, or director.

I love the plot

The plot is my fav part. At the beginning, it is a bit slow, but it got better every ep. I really love the show. The only thing I hate about this is the costume. Women's clothes are ugly.
I hope to see more show like this. Women might be seen as fragile at the beginning, but she is very strong, even with petite body.

Excellent and honest female protagonist is the best kind.

I watched this for Jeremy Tsui/Xu. And I stopped watching this because I was lazy to read sub-title. The only Chinese language available on the streaming service, and I do not understand Chinese language at all.
The most favorite part is the intelligent female protagonist. Her role is really real, and she finds the truth for other people. This is different from those in period dramas where most female protagonists are linked to lying behaviors.
