I counted three times she tried to come clean and he blocked her from confessing. Only reason that makes sense is that he needed her guilt to wield as defence for his own lies. That makes him even more of an asshat in my opinion.

I need someone to explain why Haoming acted the way he did in the period before Yan asked for a divorce - rejecting her love (and he knew she really fell for him), threatening her with her job and the stuff her gave her, not once apologising for his own lies, not empathising with her reasons for lying to him/his family. They could have very easily continued to live together with some affection but he basically treated her like she was worthless. Until I find a logical reason, I cannot even begin to understand the whole bit about him loving her all along. And if she ends up taking him back without him apologising properly and grovelling, I'm going to be pissed.

Just started this drama and I'm already mad at the emperor. Can never get used to emperors from c-dramas allowing their princes/princess undergo unnecessary unfairness and hardship in the name of "training".

At this point I have to conclude that I can't connect with Suzy and Kim Woobin's acting for some reason. Never been able to really get into any of the characters they've played as leads and only finished two dramas they were in. Uncontrollably Fond was the first kdrama I dropped. I wanted to like this after watching them on Pinggyego but it couldn't hold my interest even though it was fun the first couple episodes.

Islamophobia is real. Hostility/hatred towards the religion and its adherents. I have seen this unfold in how people where I'm from react when Muslims come to harm. The dismissal as if they deserve what they get. Yet, in the same country people are killed for "disrespecting" the holy book or blasphemy against the religion. The killers go scot-free. And adherents see nothing wrong with the murders. So much fucking death.

So a lot of the comments (on both sides) have me rolling my eyes because all I can think is "Did anyone die?" But carry on with the ignorance.

Enjoying the drama so far. There was no real need to name the character Iblis though. That was a deliberate choice. I am sure some marketing exec had a hand in that one.

Ep 20. Am I watching the same drama? They dialled way up on the ridiculous. The tone completely changed. We've seen them work together to land a potential client and there was none of this absurdity. And why was the rival company's guy not sent to the police first thing when he showed up with pictures from their hotel room? wtf? I'm too confused to appreciate the few good moments from the ep. They need to get back on track asap.

I will never understand people fighting so desperately to maintain the imagine of a being crafted from myths by their faith fathers to give them an enemy. Anyone different from them is marked as said enemy's spawn and hated without reserve. Yet said enemy is also an excuse for their sin. "The devil made me do it" and other stories.

If the devil in this drama was "bad" doing horrible things and gets defeated at the end, there would not be as much as a whimper about using a figure from religion. It's all about the devil being "good", an inconceivable thought to many. Because if the devil is good, who's doing all the evil in the world? (hint: it's humans).

I'm going to watch just to see if they did said fictional devil character justice. Cos if you're going to offend an Abrahamic religion, you better be giving premium story and entertainment.

All I can see is that Haoming is lying to his child. I can't empathise with him. That's his kid calling him brother. And nobody seems to be thinking how this will affect him. I'm curious to see how they handle the discovery because little boy is going to find out at some point.

Haven't allow a daily drama annoy me in so long. Maybe it's time.

Started rewatching this for the umpteenth time and by god it holds up. Eight years and it holds up.

Don't let the low rating and reviews stop you. It's mostly fans of the source material who are unhappy about the adaptation (as they have a right to be). As a standalone it's not half bad.

This was a lot of fun to watch and quite entertaining. I don't have the burden of knowledge viz the original source material so I went in with zero expectations. Apocalyptic plots are nothing new but as a reader myself, the idea of going into a world where you have an omniscient pov was fascinating. The character development and the CGI could have been better but the nearly two hours flew by. Would definitely watch another instalment with the same actors if it happens.

Quite the ride from start the finish. Love me a woman doing the wrongs. I wasn't particularly curious about the final boss because it always comes down to people with money and power wanting more money and power. That's why the world is where it is today. The world is being run by rent seekers and it's not just America that's fucked.

ps: the most unbelievable part was a woman still being able to run for president after being outed for having sexual desires. That's an unforgivable offense.

Loving the second couple so much. Their fights and eventually falling in love? *chef's kiss* Such a healthy relationship.

The best part of this show is that there is no angst. They're dragging the male lead's first love confusion on for too long but it's an otherwise enjoyable story. Even though the FL is quite annoying at the start.

As for the third couple, ffw all the way. I have zero interest in them.

That actually makes sense. It's a little hard to develop a character based off an source material that doesn't give much to work with.

They're both pretty tall. I find the need in BLs for the seme to be taller redundant. In this drama especially with how strong/overpowering Paran's presence is.

Hit this out of the park. The special episodes somehow managed to be better the the actual drama. I liked that they kept a bit of the red flag behaviour (the friend tailing Jun) so it doesn't feel like a totally different character with the cuteness overload.

If I have to read a novel to get the full picture of a character in the drama adaptation, then the drama isn't doing a good enough job. The oversized defense of Nanping's acting in this drama tells you see the gaps as well. Personally, I understand that acting ability exists on a spectrum, and various factors can influence whether that ability translates into a great or mediocre performance. It's why you won't find me call someone a bad actor (except that one Korean actor). But I will criticise aspects of the performance I find clunky. If you choose to jump down my throat heedlessly or use fighting words, anything you see, take it like that.

That said, what's the height difference between Keng and Namping? In some scenes they seem to be the same height. Then Keng looks much taller. Then Namping looks a little taller.
