One thing I really like about Japanese BLs is the storytelling. Even when it falls short in some way, you know a lot of thought went into it and not just some cookie-cutter-slap-anything-on-film style BL. From writing to direction to production.
There were shots in some episodes that felt superfluous to me at first but eventually when sense when I think of the story as a whole. I enjoyed every episode and it's going in my re-watch list.
If you thought the revenge was going anywhere after that first kiss, I don't know what to tell you.
This take is as asinine as it gets. And no, Islam won't fall. Just as other monotheist religions won't fall. They serve capitalism and the patriarchy too well. And if you had an ounce of sense you would think things through and educate yourself about things you know nothing about instead of sprouting unrelated brainwashed hot takes on a k-drama website.
See I told you the flashback was like an introduction to where the curse originated😁😁
But we still don't know where the curse originated. Ramphueng was already in the picture before their past life connection. I like your dedication to "I told you so" thought. :)
All that ass onscreen is wonderful but I have to hold back from thinking too deeply about the politics least I fall into a dark hole. I have lived through and continue to live through the times depicted in this drama. The military interference, the corruption, rigged elections, protesters violently suppressed and killed. Press freedom? What's that? And privileged kids pretending none of it exists by wrapping themselves in an bubble and calling it "alternate culture".
That aside though, the chemistry is 10s across board. The passion is palpable. Beautiful men everywhere you look. The production is excellent. And you know that the angst is going to be next level.
I think the reason for his tactics are to have a slim chance of winning ssy's affection!since hy is an enigma,…
But ssy likes him. He has shown in it so many ways. this episode he chose hy over wen lang's offer of the lifesaving drug for his father. if that's not love i don't know what it is.
This was so much fun to watch. Maybe because I went into it blind with no expectations. It felt like the narration between levels of a video game. I've always liked those. The main character's strength is his single-mindedness, everything else he does feels like side-quests to get him where he wants. He's only loyal to his goal and I hope they don't ruin that with romance in the next season (at least not with that whiny core formation grandmaster). I liked his inner monologues and how the side character stories were revealed without overwhelming the plot. The nepo baby villain was another character I liked. He's so unseriously evil.
Was not a fan of the flashback sequences. Some of the CGI could be better but most of if was real even if not perfect and I can live with that.
But in all, very worth the time I spent binge-watching.
I hope there isn't a strong romance theme in the next season. The grandmaster is way too embarrassing. Slept together under the influence of a spell one time and she spends decades moping after him like sis, you're a core formation stage cultivator. Stand the fuck up. You barely know this man.
The female characters falling all over the ML and getting jealous have me rolling my eyes. Like, calm all the way down. That man does not rate you romantically.
