After the beatings end Bao demands each boy gets a leg hurt. Dong gives Bao their boat money to spare them. He then lets a mob come in and trash the place after taking their money.đ€Ź While Xun is distracted by getting beat in Tang is caught trying to call him. Her father makes her kneel at Gmaâs shrine and after fake whining wants the deed to the house to pay off the debt. She refused and they collide while sheâs trying to save Gmaâs ashes. The glass in her picture frame broke and Yibo goes in a hitting spree with her again. She knows Xu would show up so she checks his house to see what happened. She sees blood on the door and screams for him. He has the audacity to think thatâs the cutest thing heâs seen all night.đShe helps with his wounds and he notices hers. He goes to the mahjong place and confronts her worthless father, and then more collectors come to pay him a call. He is seen packing a bag and fleeing. The next day Xun and Tang meet again and talk about her letter disappearing. They decide to do a stakeout for a few days. Nothing is happening and right when they give up the cat shows up and thereâs a folded letter inside the box. In the future Nian and Cheng are talking to the security guy and nobody is convincing Cheng that her dad disappeared in thin air. While they are bickering the cat shows up. We donât get to see what happened yet. Hao promises to protect his girl. He has a good heart but hopefully wonât be stupid again about fighting. He has cost them a lot with him trying to be galant.All he had to do was walk away. Hopefully he will next time. Dong promises the teacher Xun can go to school and wants him there. She means well, but she sticks her nose into things without really doing anything either. I have mixed feelings about her character. She should notice a child is getting beaten.đ I am also really tired of chubby gossip. He is not comic relief, heâs damn annoying. At first I wondered if he was the security guard at the factory mailbox.đ That would be him grown up đ€Ł

Once the will was changed, Mrs Zeng was on shopping spree celebrating. The child she once feared having is now the future apple of her eye. She hopes more money will come with a boy.đ Si Yun and sis in law were offered necklaces but Si Yun refused. The sis in law teased to let her accept for her in future.đ shortly after, she is taken to the hospital for bleeding. Mr Zeng first requests wife to be saved and then changes mind for child. The mother is 19 and the chances for preemie survival slim so Si Yun went against the fatherâs wishes and saved the mother. Zeng pulls a gun and disowns Cheng. Worthless brother wants to show up and tries to get Cheng and Dalun at a dinner to get in on Japanese trading. He is consistently a slimeball.đHere I wish Si Yun would have slapped him more convincingly. Mr Dai has a conversation with Dalun about promotion. He values brain over brawn but if Dalun can get the communist med shipment, he still stood a chance for the position. Mr Gu meets with Cheng because his contact has been killed. They need to make other arrangements for sending medical supplies. Shen surprises Cheng in his office. He lets Cheng know that Mr Guâs days are numbered and that torture would reveal any accomplices. He gives Cheng two tickets to Chongqing and tells him to leave with SiYun. He meets later with Si Yun in a church. He gives her a property deed and key for a house in Chongqing and asks to be allowed to visit in future. Mr Shen knows who he is and makes no apologies. His love for Si Yun is pure because he sees to her safety and happiness even with another. For all his flaws he loves her unconditionally. Dalun has a meeting with Sada and lets him know things will go much easier for Japanese if he gets the position instead of Shen. Shen is gunned down when leaving the church. Dalun goes to docks to find Chengâs shipment but it isnât there. Zeng kills his men but spares his son and tells him again no dealings with Japanese. Si Yun and Cheng see Mr. Gu off and it goes with the thought China would be better if more like Mr. Gu. It fast forwards to 1937 and war has started. Cheng and Si Yun did not leave and her hospital now helps wounded soldiers. It skips to a scene where Yiâs boyfriend is leading a squad into war. She wants to be part of it but heâs still encouraging her to continue education. Zeng has Cheng and Si Yun visit. He has learned Dalun bribed a young woman to put an abortion drug in his wifeâs tea. Dalun admits it but that it was to save him. Dalun has continued his dealings and now placing mirrors in targets so Japanese pilots can see targets better. Cheng and men come in and Cheng has the shot but will not kill his brother. I am not sure what the significance of the red bands are on their sleeves. Zeng confronts Dalun who kneels before him. Zeng shoots his own son and drives away. Cheng is stunned and watches them drive off. I have no idea what will happen to Cheng and Si Yun, but there has been significant changes in who is in charge and to what extent. There is no description strong enough to convey the destruction to friends and family because of the various positions people have with their politics and careers. The cast and production did an excellent job of taking you to the 1930âs with the clothing, movies, vehicles, music, political views and Japanese invading. I am not sure if we will see more of Si Yun and Ao in the future, but I am hoping they survived the aftermath of the war. I think this arc is closing and heading to 1950âs.

There is a reporter waiting in Chengâs office with coffee ready. He informs him that the man they had arrested was Dalunâs guy. Cheng looks surprised at this. The reporter said he and Shen are on same side and Cheng denied it. The reporter laughed and said he wasnât telling him the truth anymore. He lets Cheng know he will have a hard time trying to be neutral. Si Yun is in trouble with Mr Shen because she prescribed birth control to Mrs Shen. His retaliation resulted in the closing of her hospital. She could fight it in court but it would take months if not a year to get it back open. Mr Cheng gives her another option. There are pictures of him he would rather not be made public so they both agree to table his anger about the meds. Ao and Si Yun are becoming an official couple. They go to Mr Zengâs bday party and he notes their hand holding and he lets them know he approves. The festivities are interrupted by a squad of policeman charging Zeng Dalun of dealing in opium. They have a search warrant to search the house. Opium is found on the premises and Dalun is brought in. When he gets out on bail he has a chat with Cheng where he said he learned he had filed the complaint. Cheng does not respond but waits for Shen to get in his office for them to have a chat. Shen reveals that he set up Dalun and used him as well. Cheng is outraged that Shen put him on the same side. He said there was a friendship until this matter but things have now changed. Dalun is trading with the Japanese and his father has caused strikes in the docks. He is told his father can play along and make money or get killed. Cheng meets with his father and lets him know he was not the one that filed the complaint. Dalun comes in and he and father have it out. His father is outraged he is dealing both in opium and with Japanese. Later Cheng goes to an old spot he and Dalun used to drink together, Dalun fesses up about his dealings and tries to get Cheng to go along. He tells him to let the communist stuff goes because that will get him killed and then goes on to tell him the benefits of Japanese products and cuisine. Cheng is outraged with him and says they are no longer brothers. After weighing matters, Mr Zeng calls Cheng in to rewrite his will. He now has his assets quartered rather than giving Dalun all of it. The winds of war are coming and the father is preparing. He wants both of his sons to survive and not kill each other. Hard lines are being drawn and they are all being divided by politics and beliefs or profit and opportunity.

This episode sees sides being takenâŠ..anti-Japanese and anti-communist. They are polar and zealot in the defense of their own and their hatred of the other. Dalun is either undercover for the government working with the Japanese in opium market or dealing on his own. The lies fly from him so there is no way to tell from his speech, and his actions are as deceptive as his words. Cheng and Shen are playing word games with communist leaning articles in the paper. I donât know which Shen values more his political career or Si Yun. He is quieter about it, but he is as obsessed with Si Yun as his sister is with Cheng. After the movies Cheng is going to take Si Yun out for some late night noodles and gets knifed instead. Fortunately, the family pocket watch saved him. Si Yun spends the night in the hospital watching over him. His pretense of injury trying to get her to wait on him. She immediately calls him on it and they have a chat about his pocket watch and the picture inside instead. Noticeably absent is his sidekick. Dalun visits him in the hospital. Dalun swears up and down he is dealing with a Chinese guy he owed a favor to and not Japanese. Cheng asks him to ask his guys about his sidekick. His main guy admits to taking care of him because of his communist leanings. Cheng feels just as strongly about dealings with Japanese. I am not sure whatâs going to happen when it comes to a head I just hope they both survive it. The new pregnant mom wants an abortion. She came to Si Yunâs clinic and asked for one. She asked again when Si Yun was there to make a house call. Is Zeng holding her against her will? Why does she call him a monster and not want to carry his child? What secrets does the calm speaking father hold? The fact that sheâs bleeding may mean she is desperate enough to try other means to lose the baby. Sidekick is found and pretty beat up. He is ready to head northeast since he failed his job. The henchman on Dalunâs side makes no apologies for his actions. Even after getting beat on he warns Dalun that if he does not handle whatâs going on with Cheng, Shen will squash him like a bug. And with all this going on Si Yun and Ao are growing closer and working on how to transport medical supplies for Gu. Shen has quieted the one reporter pointing out the extra supplies and wanting to know where they were headed. I donât think she knows the pro communist stance of Gu. Theses politics are very interwoven and messy. There are two different wars in the works and already many casualties on both sides. The internal and external threats are polarizing the people and leading to a big storm. I want all our favorite people to survive the fallout.

So now the new recruit wants to join a northeast volunteer army and Cheng supports it and asks Mr Gu to help the group make it there safely. In return Mr Gu wants a lot of medical supplies and hard to get equipment. Here is where he better not get Cheng and Si Yun killed for helping him. Ya know, I was too optimistic about Si Yunâs brother. I honestly thought there might be a liver of repentant human there, and then ya find out he has a pregnant wife upstairs who thinks he is wealthy and owns the hospital. She is acting like a spoiled brat so that ainât helping.đ The first wife is actually washing her feet. Sister gets her out of the room and daughter gives the tea about dear old dad.đđđ„ł So they leave to cheaper pastures and the mom becomes a new medical recruit. Si Yun promises to train her. Not sure if as midwife or nurse, but she is a giver by nature so she will be a ray of sunshine no matter what job she ends up doing. The mom deserves the brat wife but since sheâs pregnant she probably will gush over her rather than chastise son. Dalun is back and Shen tries to big brother him in the hall. Dalun resents it because he thinks Shen is a big phony and he really wants nothing to do with him. When he finds out who Dalun is working with under government contract he invites him to dinner and is refused. He talks Cheng into arranging it and they will have dinner that night. Cheng and Dalun both find out dad has a new pregnant wife. Dalun says is a brother because of pointy belly. đ I have no idea if this is more myth than fact, itâs just funny that he takes the time to believe it. The meal is a disaster when Dalun gets lippy and Shen calls in two MPs. Unfortunately things escalate and Shen orders them to kill him. So Cheng takes second gun to his head and tells him to order it. Shen doesnât and Cheng and Dalun leave. Shen shows up with 2 fifths of something and starts drinking down the bottle. Cheng takes one long drink of bottle two and heads to the movies. He and Si Yun have figured out how to get the items but not how to transport them yet. I really donât want them tangling with Dalun et al. They are given carte blanche with permission for lethal response. It is funny how Cheng tries to trick Si Yun into holding his hand. She calls him on it and teases his hand is sweaty. He takes his hand away and she grabs it. The episode ends with them both grinning and holding hands. đ„°

Yibo thinks the cigarettes he saw was the boyfriend. He has no clue that they were from Baoâs guys looking for him. So this POS dad goes to school pretending Heitang stabbed him. I cheered when Xun punched him. He deserves so much more. He tricked the miserable principal into giving him more money. His fake tears should choke him.đ€Ź I want Baoâs guys to find him.đ I am also tired of chubby gossip boy. In many ways he is kid version of the dad with his lies for attention and to be popular. đ Xun pays the school fund and both he and Tang defend each other fiercely. The teacher knows something is up but she is so convinced past behavior is Xunâs problem that she doesnât get how horrid the dad really is. Here we learn Xun grew up in orphanage but still not made clear how the teacher knew him. Both Xun and Tang leave school for the day. Here I want to smack chubby for pretending it was a good thing. He is another pos in the making. đWhat is super cute is how Xun and Tang treat returning the money. The threat to accept or never speak again. Their friendship is rooted now. This gets Xun in trouble from every side. His collector boss beats him for getting involved with Tang and the other for hating Qiang. I grin because they have both found their gals and the boss hasnât let that notion sink in. He knows how grey this is but to focus on IOUâs without focus on any asides makes the job easier. There can be no entanglement with families involved. I love Yu Nianâs pregnant friend.đđShe takes on the demolition people right to their faces and dares them to deal with her.đđ Yu Nian is convinced she was supposed to find the letter but she has no clue where Meiwan Town is. She googles and Meiwan Town annexed to Pushui. Yu Nian travels to Pushui and has a cab take her to the police station in what was once Meiwan Town. She tries to track down Haitang, but is told only relatives can have access. The son who has arrived home to find his mom gone and her car parked in a remote mountain lot is looking for her and is made aware someone was also looking for her. The two meet and it is instant sparks.đ They each think the other has done something bad to their parent and refuse to believe the other is being truthful. Their bickering is fun, especially when the cop tries to tell them their parents may be taking care of personal matters they donât want their children to know about.đ It does not cross their minds that their parents might really know each other and have a history. I wish he would have opened the cookie tin at Tangâs house to see what was inside. They are going to stay together until the parents are found. Back in 1991 Tang realizes her letter isnât in the mailbox. She tries to call Xun but the two gang groups are being âdisciplinedâ by their leaders. I am annoyed that the younger guys are getting beaten more but their boss knows he has no choice with Bao right there overseeing things.

Yi Bo gets his daughter home where he steals her earnings, steals the class fund, and beats her. She has had enough. She writes her gma an apology letter which she puts in red mailbox. She bows an apology and steps out with determination to find her father and end things. She takes a knife to the local gambling place where she has every intention of killing her father and then herself. She is stopped by the new kid , Xun, and really resents it. He calms her down and gets her home to discover Baoâs guys have already been there. He takes her to his place instead. He buys her some essentials and food and goes off to billiard place where he teases Hao about crush. Hao leaves to get her some noodles and more of Baoâs guys are there mocking the lame girl. He should have just left, but they goaded him into a fight where he is badly beaten and his noodles wasted on jerkâs head. The police now think Tang is a mental case because that was the easiest story for her father to spin. I am glad he was asked questions about frequenting mahjong placeđ There is a montage of the three suffering from various wounds and the sweet girl that changes movies smiling over his snack. In the present Yu Nian is still looking for her father, Yu Zhi Hong. This time when she sees the security guard he has a suicide letter that a;peared in the red mailbox. He thinks the mailbox is cursed and she knows her father was waiting for the letter. She stuffs it in her pocket and goes home but her father has removed everything in house that would identify him. All the meds were gone and nothing identifying him was there. At the police station she runs a check with her ID. But here is where gets strange. The man that comes up as her father died in prison 20 years ago. She has no explanation and the only discovery she has made is a bunch of train tickets to a place she has never heard of and a postcard that has the same signature as the letter in her pocket.

The story begins with an older man waiting by a red mailbox. There is a red cat close by. It wakes up the security guard. The old man is kicked out but insists on sending letters from here. He ends up missing and the daughter has a chat with the security guard. He says that after her father put the letter in the mailbox he just disappeared. She doesnât believe him. A young girl with a knife is apologizing to her gma in a letter that is put in that box. There is also a group of three debt collectors that get involved because Ye Yibo did not pay gambling debt. It is the 7th day of mourning for her gma so they take her gmaâs money and call it a day. She has words with one of them. Contrary to the job he just did, he helps an old man with his cart that includes a red cat. They do not like the gang boss over them and are very close to having the money they need for a boat. This is their primary objective. The three want out of the âcollectingâ business and want a legitimate job. The girl works in a stationary/ postcard shop and is asked to do a campaign for them. She titles it writing to yourself in the future. The same old man and cart walk by her and asks for some boxes. She helps him and pets the cat. His cart has the red mailbox on it. The next day the red mailbox is parked outside the shop with a letter for her inside. Her teacher turns out to be related to one of the debt collectors that is now in her home room class. They have words where she wants her gmaâs money back and he tells her that her father should pay his gambling debts. The letter inside the red mailbox was a love letter of sorts from the new guy in class. Her debt collector. It is read aloud and a fight breaks out. They both find themselves in the office with her dad. The teacher isnât aware that the father is scum, but the daughter and new student well aware. He acts like he is a concerned father, but her looks and cringing says it all. The boy rescues the crumbled letter from the mailbox and begins to read when the episode ends. The music is very good. I especially liked the Jiu Lian Zhen Ren song âDonât bully the youngstersâ. There is a time gap with the letters from 1991 when the girl writes to 2026 when the old man writes. Interestingly, the cat is in both times along with the mailbox.

Both are dreaming dreams of their past. This time we are getting glimpses of Tingyan before and just after accident. At the coming of age ceremony Sima Jiao regains his memories. The wretch of a wisp killed the concubine and frame Tingyan for it. She counters by waiting in prison by choice. Here the sacrifice of children and the famine with drought has built a big reserve of resentment flooding into Tingyanâs demon core. She has figure out the scheme in regards to herâŠshe sacrifices herself literally as Sima Jiao did in demon realm to negate the demon coreâŠor she risks demon core taking over and becoming Sima Jiaoâs assassin. Itâs worthy of Shi evil in the complexities of playing the long game. For now, there is a very small respite window where she vents her anger and frustration at his choice, and how he calmly said his gift was hers to use as she chose. His character is unique in that he doesnât choose to safeguard himself or his followers under certain circumstances. He lets them be at risk along with himself and lets fate run its course with no regrets. His character will stay memorable with me because of that. He candidly takes life as it is and betters what he can with no apologies. Under the snow they have a brief quiet embrace where they know who they are and are not worried about where they are headed. They are taking a moment to just be.â€ïž

Tingyan is not happy he has a haremđ With the other side also wanting him dead, is the escaped magistrate a double agent? There are still questions about him. The wisp of old demon lord still wants to cause trouble. She is now aligning herself with the leader of Yan. The doc is a double agent. I am not sure if she is disciple of Yan leader or his lover. It is fun watching Tingyan and Jiao needle each other. đ This time she is saving him. But, by doing so in assassin raid, she has also revealed herself to old demon wisp. Jiao has his mother this time. Is she his idea or somebody elseâs? Tingyan didnât think enough soul shards left for another life. Both are trying to figure out nemesis plot and each other. Even his consorts mean him harm so she will have a tough time staying his bodyguard with the restrictions placed on her. Fortunately that also holds true for demon wisp. He doesnât trust her, but canât deny she shields him. I will be glad when they get to present day mortal time.

This was a bittersweet episode. Sima Jiao is all to successful in purging her demon core. She keeps a wisp of him aside which means core is only suppressed. She is mistress and everybody fears her because she killed the great grandmaster and rules in his stead. It is funny how she demands 8 hr work days and not a minute longerđ Her yawn when court session finally over. đđ€Ł She is an unhappy ruler because even tho surrounded by everything she likes and enjoysâŠ.it has no meaning without Sima Jiao there. I like how the ring was the last to circle around her reminding her of their love. I hope she is wearing it. Black snake gets cornered by both women and is especially in trouble when they sense Jiaoâs aura in him. They now know where he is and Tingyan is far from impressed with how his character is gossiped as great womanizer. He wants to see her and sends an escort but sheâs not enthused. Prior he sent a traitor to be executed with plans of rescuing him to find out where his master was. Tingyan interefered with that plan and now the wisp of old demon lord is awakened to wisp of spirit flame lord and in Tingyan. She has been resting 12 years and feels nice and spry to greet them. I hope these two have not outsmarted each other to their detriment. It is sweet he carries her picture.đ„° That look of pure surprise when they actually meet. Glad no having to wait for next episode. đ

The last of the Fengshan line did a sweet thing to try to revive Sima Jiao, unfortunately removing her blood shield resulted in the wisp left of the old lord to take root there.đ Tingyan is horrified at what happened when her fish powers emerged. They all faded away but still not sure that miscreant Shi is dead yet. I can only hope he has but I really do not want to see him in modern realm. I really want him gone âŠpermanently. đ€ŹTingyan went to soul manor and saw the shape of it, she figured out that lightning test was the best way to revive him. She literally took on the heavens to save him.đ„°The lightning did indeed revive him. I am not sure if he is top strength, but he is definitely better. I see now why she and demon lord similar in disposition, he gave her human form. So it is not surprising they could merge. Since she is not of his bloodline, I am not sure how long this merge will last. She had Jiao arrange things for immortals and demons to live together. It is not harmonious yet and the elders on both sides really battling it. But the one thing both realms have in common is the poor and lower classes are damn tired of taking the brunt of the elders wars and bickering. This goes for both sides. Once the barrier melted, Hongluo will have no grudge against Sima Jiao even if all memories restored. Snake is making progress with his lady. In celestial realm, I wanted Ruling away from all of them she was too tunnel visioned to do anything but hurt them. This realm, she sees Shi for what he is and despises him . She has no grudge against Jiao and actually encourages the match. She plays hard to get with black snake, but at least only hurting his pride rather than him personally. This realm overall has treated them better even with the harshness of last episode. Tingyan has proposedâŠ..wonder what grandmaster will say?đđ„°â€ïž

These two finally get a private moment and Feng Qi is jealous. He goes to the Preceptor and agrees to help with their plan. They kinda left out the whole âprocessedâ part intended for Tingyan.đ I am not sure what they added to her ankle or if it is her anklet from Jiao acting up, but it is adding to his troubles healing. He refuses to tell her and lets her eat drink and be merry in Grain Rain Vale. The refreshing part of this place is that the leaders truly just want her company and to see how she is doing. There are no hidden agendas. They just want her to have a good visit. Feng Qi sees them as a couple there. It would be more believable if she would have even noticed any of his overtures to the children and villagers. She is not particularly wrapped up in Jiao either. But she is comfortable in his company and just trusts that. Ine surprise is the Preceptor changing his fate from demon lord death. He didnât grant life, but an opportunity to be spared if fate allowed and his fish showed up. She saw him as a dying child and offered aid. I donât think she ever once considered him anything other than a friend/brother. Ruling is trying to tell him he should stay her friend and that it was obvious who she was most interested in. He refuses to give up hope and will be unnecessary trouble for them all.đ This is second drama he does this. Hope he gets different roles in future or I may start getting annoyed just seeing his face in the drama.đđI like how they both wear the rings and donât think of hiding them or taking them off. They are invited and received as a couple. She is starting to astral travel again so Jiao keeps boundaries up so she will be safe. This time she is not angry or feeling confined. This episode starts and ends with a pool scene. I hope she recognizes he needs som cool relief from her soon. He really isnât doing so well. The thing that shines through is their commitment to each other regardless of where , name or habits. I am pretty positive he will always recognize her. She has more powers against her than she can beat right now, so I still have doubts with her tho it will not be of her doing. Shi has already scrambled her brains once and with demon assistance, I donât see him not capable of doing it again. That is sad to admit, but there is still a big battle stirring up and right now, Jiao is pushing himself too hard with minimal assistance. His well meaning snake isnât speaking up to the right people. They are going to have to trick her in removing her anklet and Feng Qi is going to let himself be the key to that venture. He has reason to idolize her, but he really has no clue where he really is in the scheme of things.

Shi is a wretchđđ€Ź He has Tingyan living as his daughter thinking she must avenge her brother and kill Sima Jiao. đ She and Ruling are again friends with scrambled memories and different names. Jiao continues to hunt for her and he and Nianju taking over realm a city at a time for search. Luckily demon lord is a male version of Tingyan. He just wants to live well and laze about without dealing with the demon populace at all. His top man wants to process Tingyan as a weapon piece and somewhere the spirit of great demon is still waiting for host body. Tingyan carved an emoji on table so Jiao knows she is alive, but Shi has her concealed. He is also ramping up her chill powers under the guise of âkindnessâ. đ At least Tingyan knows he is not her real father, but she feels a debt because he rescued her and became crippled. There is no telling how much fact from fiction with him. He is in it for long game so would have no trouble feigning anything. I am enjoying this version of Tingyan more. She is a fighter here using her demon skills. She does not have the issue of killing like she did in celestial realm. However, she doesnât just indiscriminately kill either. Like her real self, she has no desire to kill Sima Jiao just because âdaddy says soâ.đ She is much more like BaoBao here and totally kicking butt. Jiao was disappointed the one he saved wasnât Tingyan, but it was one of the last Fengshan babies that had birthmark removed. She is now all grown up and he has shielded her so her bloodline will not be recognized. He and black snake have taken over another city that has welcomed them with open arms. Seems itâs the one where Ruling and Tingyan live. Waiting to see how seeing each other goes.

I am watching on Viki and series in 8 episodes rather than 18. There will be spoilers if watching the 18 episode version. Shi Qi puts off louse prince reminding him of the dangers if caught. The general notices but chooses to say nothing. The louse prince is acting like just another impromptu love making location to notch on his beltđ Shen Qin can have him. These two deserve each other. Too bad he is too acquainted with her face.đ This episode we meet Yuan Bao, a precocious young lady who was orphaned young and adopted by the general. She examines Shi Qi quite closely and laments she doesnât have the features her father would find appealing. đ€Ł She is ditching school and wants the new wife to help her out. Shi Qi is surprised, but she sides with the little miss and is now labeled mom. That evening new mom and little miss are camping out in the yard with firefly lantern. Shi Qi is just saying they need to let the fireflies loose when the General shows up asking about the tent. He is surprised at the scene that greets him and is going to leave when Yuan Bao pulls him in demanding a story. She is quite the instigator as she crosses their arms over her and touching each other. đ€Łđ„° The little one falls asleep with the story of fireflies and surprisingly so does Shi Qi. It is a sweet moment with the family shoes outside the tent.đ„° There is another meeting with the face swapper. She is demanding an item to be found that was held by the crown prince. I guess the red on her arm is a magical pregnancy test and she knows they have not consummated their marriage yet. She puts a spring poison in their wine. I do not know if it harms as well as excites but I think is just super potent aphrodisiac. I am glad that the prince seemed to have a line he wouldnât cross about being young girls as courtesans. However, he was interested in the 17 yr old Shin Qin and the wine made him extra amorous. However, a friend of Shi Qiâs recognized her face going in with the prince. The magistrate spilled the love concoction for general so their evening was different. Her shoulder scar and words have convinced him she is the one he has dreamed about for three years. The face doesnât match but the mole and scar do. She has not explained her situation, but for this night, they are throwing caution to the winds and consummating their marriage in a loving wayđ„°â€ïž Yuan Bao will be very happy. đThis story continues to be well told with no extra filler. We are given what we need to see, the machinations at work and how they fit with no filler. The music is also nice. Kudos to the cast and production team .
