I do think it's a good entry drama with interesting cat fights and scheming, but if you're looking for something with more layers I'd recommend Empresses in the Palace on Tubi or YouTube. It's shorter with more plot twists and great re-watchability because of all the foreshadowing

I believe this is the one that is being attacked, for example in episode 2 when Zhen Huan returns home to her family after the concubine selection, the audio gets cut out due to copyright :( However, I see the subtitles are back! Maybe they fixed that issue! Previously the subtitles would stop when the audio turned off!

Yes, it's official and I sent them an email as well, but they didn't say why it's being copyrighted, only that they are trying to fight it. Hopefully YouTube can fix the issue :(

I just finished this and I hated it....... not really spoilers but a rant: Ruyi's character was very bland with no flaws, the characters would ask obvious questions as if we the viewers were too stupid to understand, so many characters were 1 dimensional...... No plot twists, no deeper meanings, and the worst part is the characters were written for us to purposefully feel a certain way towards them. The emperor was written to be unlikeable without any room for us to decide if we like him or not! He and many others were so unnatural and not human-like. The emperor in Zhen Huan at least had reasons and was pitiful, but not here. Also, Ruyi started and ended with the same personality. There was no growth, no change, other than her final decisions and feelings towards the emperor. Too straightforward! Please correct me if I am wrong.... I am open-minded and wanted to like this but from a writer's POV I just couldn't.... :(

I want to watch this a 4th time, so obsessed!!!

This show sucked, nothing ever happens and the only real antagonist is an adopted little sister with zero character development, very unrealistic. Only watch for the pretty visuals
