The moment he refused to let Ye Tan find Xuan Shang memory shards proved how detatched he was as a father. Heavenly Empress needs start having a backbone and tell her good for nothing husband that she can talk back to him since no one else will. He is biggest red flag how did she even get stuck with him.
The ending both real and unrealistic reality. Why how can you ask someone you love not to love someone else when they die? She controlled him until the end which is sad. Just because your dying doesn't mean the living person has to be stuck living alone in hell until meeting your dead ass. I would never ask my husband to only love me in his lifetime especially if i was dying. I would told him sure morn me but go on with life. To old someone back from the dead is horrible.
