Title My Dearest
For me this drama was a bit frustrating because of the unnecessary amnesia arcs (with an "s"). It got too much and the FL was quite insufferable towards him 3/4 of the Kdrama. The first season was the best. What saved My Dearest for me was how consistent the ML's love was for the FL. The scene of her revealing that she was violated by their conquerers to him and the way he told her that he loved her regardless of her past and who she was or became was honestly very moving. Because accepting an unchaste woman during that period was unthinkable. So it was the drama's highlight. It was the best scene for me, yes, better than him taking the Qing princess' arrow for her and better than the ending where he built her her dream house during that time when he was suffering from his second amnesia.

Review Lovely Runner
It still shocks me how some people can throw so much hate toward a drama as wonderful and beautiful as Lovely Runner. I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea but majority of the hate is really just nonsense and deliberate. Some even criticized it for being about this “big, undying love.” What were they expecting from a romance Kdrama? That’s literally the genre. Or maybe they just wanted to see people hooking up and call it love? It feels like some trolls just want to drag it down for the sake of it because their bias Kdramas didn't reach the level of recognition that Lovely Runner has. Thankfully, Lovely Runner has such a solid and passionate fanbase. Watching our collective efforts lead to the main actors winning awards at Baeksang, ASEA, AAA, MAMA and SDA was incredibly rewarding.

Im sol behaved like a 3 year old child with a leaking brain. Her sole purpose was to gawk, cry and run, nowhere…
Are you seriously trashing Lovely Runner just to prop up Marry My Husband and Business Proposal? Be for real. That drama completely derailed in the final stretch. What exactly was the purpose of dragging in the male lead’s psycho fiancée at the last minute? To add “drama”? It undercut the core plot, wasted screen time, and diluted the actual revenge arc.

And this idea that Jiwon didn’t need a man? Have you conveniently forgotten it was her own father who sent the male lead to let her use him? Without his influence, power, and resources — which, by the way, came with him being her boss — she wouldn’t have been able to pull off her plan. Let’s not rewrite the script into something it never was. Sun Jae saved Sol multiple times as an ordinary high school and college boy - way before his wealth and fame - who had nothing other than his sincere desire to protect her.

You’re also questioning why Sol didn’t encourage Sun Jae to recover from his injury? That just shows you didn’t understand the story at all. Within the context of Lovely Runner, Sun Jae was always meant to be a K-pop idol in every timeline — whether or not he met Sol at all. And Sol’s selfless acts during each time slip came back to her in beautiful, full-circle ways — like good karma through Tae Sung, her mother and the second couple.

But honestly, why even bother explaining when Lovely Runner has achieved more acclaim, fan engagement, and accolades than Marry My Husband or Business Proposal ever did for a romcom.

Title Doctor Slump
Just starting this Kdrama and it already has my heart because of how deeply it hits close to home 🥹 Not sure why this has a low rating. Might be boring for some or the chemistry is lacking. But I'm here for their journey to healing, recovery and getting back on their own two feet after a crushing defeat in their careers.

i dont get the hype
Well it's a drama that might not be for everyone; it can feel very heavy most of the time, maybe even slow or boring to some, because of how realistically it mirrors life. But for me, this is the kind of drama that only comes around once in 10 years which I've been privileged to watch. It lingers, hits deep and slices your heart and psyche like a knife, and stays with you long after completing it.

I wasn't too keen on Eun Gyeol and Se Gyeong's romance arc in this show because the parents' cute love story was enough for me honestly. This may not have been as life changing for me as When Life Gives You Tangerines, which I watched much later ofc, but it is truly a wholesome experience.

There is definitely romance of the desperate need to protect each other variety rather than the cute fluffy moments…
Romance. Exactly right? Did I ever explicitly say it needed kiss scenes or dates? No. What I expected was a story that followed through on the emotional direction it had set up from the start.

for me nope
Well for me Lovely Runner wasn't about people achieving anything as individuals. It was about how a destined couple would be able to overcome a tragic ill-fated love that kept on repeating in a time loop - which they did beautifully. I've always considered Twinkling Watermelon as a Kdrama about healing among family members, from wounds brought about by disability, miscommunication and unrealistic expectations. That's why I could never understand why people keep comparing these dramas just because of the time travel element. The time travel here in TW gave the ML and FL the opportunity to know their misunderstood parents more deeply through their teenage years and grow in understanding and love.

I was expecting the romance because that's how it initially marketed itself as, at least to me, with the FL developing a crush on the ML after she set her eyes on him while in her shaman gig, and wanting to save him from his tragic fate etc etc. So I was surprised that the topic of the conversation has now been dominated by the "evil ghosts." But I could care less if it had fluffy romance or not. If it was marketed as comedy/horror initially that would've been fine regardless.

“Lovely Runner arrived quietly, at a time when general sentiment around K-Dramas felt a little deflated. Thrillers…
That's all true. There's just something about Lovely Runner that’s so magical and beautiful. It makes you hope for love and other good things—it makes you laugh, cry, and think because it's a smart show. IMO the most perfect romance Kdrama and will always be very special to Subeoms like me. It really took the crazy and lovable humor of Strong Woman Bong Soon and the emotional depth, tragedy and longing of Shining for One Thing. But only so much better.

CLOY will always be one of my all-time favorites. As of this writing, this and Lovely Runner are the only pure Kdrama rom-coms I’ve ever finished and rated a 10. I’ve been watching Kdramas for 14 years, and I usually drop most rom-coms halfway through because the plots often feel too surface-level. But not these two. The romance and friendships in CLOY were so beautifully portrayed 🥹. I wouldn’t change a single thing. Some viewers found the ending unsatisfying, but for me, it was perfect especially given the delicate and politically sensitive nature of the North Korea and South Korea relations.

Is Gang Hyeok a mary sue? I personally hate Mary sues, but the reviews seem so good and I want to try a medical…
The manhwa which was used as a basis for Trauma Code was directly inspired by a real life Korean Trauma surgeon Dr. Lee Guk Jong. Perhaps they exaggerated Gang Hyuk for drama purposes but in terms of skill, if he was based on an actual doctor, then I don't think he is a Mary Sue at all.
