LOL, great response!! Going to be the longest week of my life! I should wait out the episodes until they finish…
Definitely watch "Joy of Life" because it has been a real gem. I loved two dramas with IU in them..."My Mister" and "Hotel del Luna" (both modern settings), "Chief Kim" was one of the funniest I've ever watched, "Goodbye My Princess" is one that made my heart thump out of my chest and had someone stomp all over it again and again. Hope this helps!

was looking for dramas to watch and i happen to see this for being one of MDL's top airing shows but HOLY I DID…
I truly don't mind the longer episodes if the show is well written, acted and paced (shout out to a lot of good Chinese dramas). I started watching this one because I was in a show hole and am 100% all in after trying the first few episodes. This is one of the rare times that I'm glad with watching 50 whole episodes.

This drama is nothing less than a 9/10...
I will definitely have a day of mourning on the last episode of season 1.

Today's episodes had me in tears throughout. Jesus
I laughed out loud on your comment and agree wholeheartedly. These two play these parts to perfection.

Not a good drama for viewers new to the genre unless you are able to check out of yourself. It’s not real it’s…
I love 14th bad boy also!

I’ve always wanted to watch this but the tragedy tag always deterred me because I can’t stand heartbreaks.…
The "Director's Cut" is on Amazon Prime if you're a subscriber. I've watched both versions and the uncut one details more of the palace maneuverings and reasons behind the actions of Li Cheng Yen.
As far as being like "The King's Woman", it's only somewhat similar. "Goodbye My Princess" is a drama that I cannot let go of almost a year later. The script could have taken a number of different turns and still been well worth watching but the main point driven is the price of power and revenge versus what's lost in the process. To this day, I hear the Fox Song and my heart hurts, so I understand all too well you're recovery from heartbreak. Good luck!

It's getting too draggy with all the evil plots by the evil stepsister. When will the evil stepsister die?
Not soon enough....

What the emperor did is in character for him - he is utilitarian and is willing to bide his time when dealing…
I have to watch this show in raw form with fast forward handy in order to watch the crown prince's struggles. If there is a happy ending, all this angst would have been well worth it. What continually goes through my mind is the high probability that this story accurately displays the political court and lack of human empathy. I would have been tossed into the moat with an anchor on day 1.

It is a good thing that Sung Joon starts feeling regretful! since he spent 10 years with Jung Sun and meeting…
The most painful moment in any failed relationship is finding the exact point that closure is the only road left. It will be interesting to see which way the story ends, but I would like to see the Jung Sun with a new beginning away from Sung Joon.

Your comment made me laugh out loud! This drama is a "to love him is to suffer for him" and I have to wonder what rock the writer crawled out from under.

You're in good company. Imagine waiting for subs on this drama.....I'd rather had a root canal. This is the drama…
I hate tragic endings but this could not have ended any other way than how it does From episode 31 on, prepare to have your heart ripped out and have tissues close. It's just that good.

About 3/4 of the way through, she gets her memories back. She gets mistakenly kidnapped by Gu Jian in one of the Prince's schemes and starts remembering bits and pieces. Then the 5th Prince captures her while she's trying to escape and everything comes flooding back. The Prince regains his memories with about 3 episodes left.

This drama is very well played by the actors but the script and storyline are too heavy handed. I don't doubt the historical accuracy of how the Chinese court machinations played out but in terms of storytelling, the viewer has very little levity to counterbalance the tragedy of their interactions and lack of humanity. I watch this one only when it's raining because it has the potential to ruin a good mood.
