Agreed that he has had a comfortable life with really loving parents who made sure that he did not lack anything. And I think that is what gives him that confidence and secure feeling and some amount of his courage. If he went through an illness he may or may not push hard . But right now looks like he is very stressed . They showed him having palpitations. So actually may slow down

I don’t like the way he is pursuing Huazi even though he knows that her heart belongs to Wang He. I feel like everyone coddles him too much and he still behaves like a spoilt child

I love how they have created WH’s character . He is the real thing. And they are also showing how he is falling apart . They are all from poor families and they have seen their parents suffer when they were young - especially FH and WH. So it is not surprising that being successful and comfortable is what WH wants the most in life . If we look around us there are a lot of people like that

FH blaming WH for that driver He ‘s death was again ridiculous . Everyone makes choices - that guy made a choice to run the red light in the rain. The one I feel bad for is WH. He honestly does need any of this in his life .

Exactly ! WH does not catch a break. But no one says anything about him. And yes he was ok with XC being interested in FH. If anything WH is very magnanimous. And it’s not like he just raced behind his ambitions - he made sure his 2 friends - even this loser- was part of the plan. WH is the only one who is trying to hold everyone’s reins together and things don’t fall apart.

Exactly I don’t like him at all. He is really self destructive and selfish and is ungrateful to his friends who pull him up from his messes every single time. I think he inherited a lot from his dad LOL

Exactly WH is just a cog in the wheel . He will have to take the blame if all of this falls apart. People are saying he only thinking of money- but he has his job to do too. What Xingchi did was not right . If he thought that WH’s company was doing things wrong those he could have quit in the beginning or not joined hands . To get deep into it and then do this -that was bad.

I would have to disagree with you there. He has taken care of his friends to the best of his ability . He is ambitious -yes- but he has pulled Haikuo and Xingchi’s weight . Especially the latter .Xingchi needs to be more responsible . Every single time he screws up one of his buddies have to pick him up. How long can someone do that realistically. Looks like now he has landed in Feng Hua’s hands. His character actually is the worst one. WH probably will learn his lesson - he still has his head in the right place. But Xingchi- as I have said before - is a loose cannon.

It honestly is not Wang He ‘s job to pull Xing chi’s weight . Yes they are friends but that does not mean that he should be there for that guy at every single turn. He gave him the opportunity -yes- but that is it. WH has his own pressure and his job to do. I feel like Xingchi is not built for any kind of career/job. He is a loose cannon. I did not like FH telling him to take responsibility for Xingchi again. Anyone would be mad. They all make WH carry too much on his shoulders because he is the default leader of their group

I am watching ep 14. And this is what I see- The FL is reluctant to see her dad for who he really is. Forget the ML talking to her - her own mom told her uncomfortable things about him. For her - god forbid- that perfect family of hers is messed up.-she will not be able to accept it. I was like - give me a break- when she told the ML that she was just an ordinary woman from the inner chambered . She is very biased. She only sees what she wants to see . For her the ML is only evil but she will use him as she wishes . They really have created a FL character who you can neither love nor hate ! One thing is for sure- after this incident she has gained an upper hand as far as her family is concerned

No there is something more going on there. Just jealousy would be too simple. As the mother said , the dad orchestrated a lot of those things - had her family killed and later was somehow involved in the whole barefoot ghost drama- it is not yet completely clear what else the dad did. Also was he responsible for the ML’s wife getting killed? Is that why the ML kept silent when the family was going to be executed? I think the FL is still very hasty and impulsive. She is feisty but does not analyze everything

But the issue is that the 2ML is a loose cannon- let’s be honest here . What you said may be the ultimate goal but when you are working for a company you follow their rules and regulations and whatever goals they have set. If one cannot then they should resign. I agree that WH is aggressive when it comes to work but 2ML cannot think straight about a lot of stuff and I think he may just be squandering the opportunity given to him.

That I understand but yes they still need to talk. I agree though that one does not know how serious WH is. And FH does not want to invest too much in that relationship . Their relationship is still at that stage where it could fizzle out . But then they are more than just lovers and that is why the talk is needed

She actually plays grey and dark characters well. I can’t see her as a lead in a romcom or something like that . But serious characters that are complex - definitely!

Thirty episodes in and this drama is so good! Thoroughly loving every minute of it and I am thoroughly invested in the characters and the story. This is definitely one of the best dramas this year. I am blown away by all the actors in this ensemble but Bai Lu shines in this role again and her character is so beautifully written.
