From everything that we have seen, we cannot consider Duan Xu as an ordinary mortal. My guess is that there is a backstory there. Otherwise why would he be the one bound to her in this way? So my guess is that the story goes beyond the mortal realm.

How can he appear in a city unwounded and squeaky clean after being in the middle of a massacre? That would make it unrealistic. Plus yeah I admit that Chen Feiyu covered in blood is something else !

I really love how they have created Duan Xu’s character. He is definitely not ordinary. Very clever, strategic and ruthless . And He Simu is enjoying every single minute of it . As we all are 😂😂. It’s like she is this grand spectator in Duan Xu’s play!

Man that tone change in ep 8 was something. Chen Feiyu was absolutely fantastic in this episode. What a dark turn but it fits very well with the drama. Did not expect anything less! I love how ruthless his character is and that whole assassination sequence was done well.
