I really REALLY liked it. Both main lead nailed their role and personality wise, I loved how playful they were.
Also, I liked Liu Chang & Li You Zhen. They are character made to be hated but they aren't just that. You have a bunch of villain here that are mostly power-hungry or money-hungry without much humanity in them. But those two, they have some backstory and more depth.
They made me feel empathy for them. And it's why I hated them even more. For me, they were well written and both of them are also fantastic actors.
the first 8 episode are only focused on 3rd couple so we barely see other characters, it's impossible for character…
Kind of a grey character. The issue is mostly the writing as he is sometime super supportive and a green flag and sometime... He is kind of a jerk from ancient time. ^^
But I personally do like their interaction with the FL. If you like ennemy-to-lover troop it will appeal to you.
idk why but she is my least favorite sister, her mom raised her as favorite you can feel the favoritism
It's not exactly like that. It's custom to marry the oldest children first. Their first daughter was married and now is a widow. The second is already married. So now, it's the third turn.
After seeing the trailer of this I already knew it wasn't for me but I still give it a shoot. And... Yeah, it's just not for me at all. Everything was said in comments below so I will not elaborate more. It's just I can't say I'm disappointed as I didn't have any expectation to begin with. ^^'
And on another note. What the deal with her mother ? He is adopted or what ? Or he is the illegitimate child of his father ? Oo
I can't see a mother going so hard to make her child suffer just to get back at her ex-husband. I already struggle to see that if my theory is right to be honest. She is a bit like a cartoonish villain with her cocky "secretary" doing her evil doing. I don't expect any depth to this character but I still hope I'm wrong.
I don't think it will happen but when Jin said all his friend group (with Phu) were odd & after learning he could read mind, I was wondering if all of them would have "superpower" like in a Marvel with Phu as a Queen Bee (as he also did attract Cir) for some reason. :P
But the others don't give this vibe, so I don't think it will go this far. I'm also confused at how many here are 100% certain that Cir just lie or have mental issue about all this parallel universe theory. Because so far, it's strongly hint that everything he experienced his "real" and couldn't be explained with just him having mental issue. :o
Or maybe I'm gullible. Also, the trailer of this show also hinted that it was truly a parallel universe setting. But maybe it was for misleading us ? I don't know. It's just that I see everyone saying it isn't that.
PS: If it's because you have spoiler, please don't respond as I don't want to get spoiled. But feel free to share if it's just what you think based on what we already saw. :)
IT WAS SO HORRIBLE I CAN'T LOOK AT THE MALE LEAD WITHOUT THINKING OF HOW HE CONVINCED THAT SPINELESS ASSHOLE TO…
Yeah, I was also surprised with ML being fine with that idea and even FL doing "apparently" nothing (as like I said, it's not show that she informed her sister) when she discovered that scheme. She still left her sister in the dark to be honest.
IT WAS SO HORRIBLE I CAN'T LOOK AT THE MALE LEAD WITHOUT THINKING OF HOW HE CONVINCED THAT SPINELESS ASSHOLE TO…
I don't really know if she was traumatized or she was acting to make him spill the bean. I could be wrong as it's unclear & really clumsy writing here.
And from what I understood for their storyline is to "educate" him into a decent human being so they show first how "trashy" he is first to have a more clear character growth.
You know it's a Period Drama, right ? Unfortunately, it's historically accurate that women were treated like object…
Again, talking nicely wont hurt you. And stop making assumption about this unfinished drama or me. As so far, all women from the Li Family didn't take any grievance from men without fighting back. It's literally how feminism started.
IT WAS SO HORRIBLE I CAN'T LOOK AT THE MALE LEAD WITHOUT THINKING OF HOW HE CONVINCED THAT SPINELESS ASSHOLE TO…
It was cleared somehow as his wife already discovered it with the "pillow talk" (probably her sister said something to her) and the husband was found "hiding" in the hen house by his mother after that.
You know it's a Period Drama, right ? Unfortunately, it's historically accurate that women were treated like object…
Have you even watch this ? Where did they fall in love with men that abused them ? They literally send one to semi-exile and broke the leg of another...
And learn to talk to somebody without being disrespectful. You just look silly and give a bad name to genuine people that support feminism...
This is such a good drama but I must say the misunderstanding at ep6 did annoy me, but then again what was she…
My biggest grievance here for me is that he is a Smart ML. How can he be that clueless here ? Like "gifts" were send and throw back multiple time. It wasn't a secret or it should be easy to find out what happened. So it would lead to: "My Mother try to make this marriage difficult". Then, the marriage is called off and he just let go like that without really searching ?
I'm not really blaming him as for me it's just lazy writing to add drama that warp the ML personality to make problem arise. Anyway, I was sure it would happen somehow as it's ep. 6. The marriage and HE was waaaaay too quick but I just hoped a more clever way to do it.
Another pile of steaming women being treated like shit but they'll probably lying dall in l9ve with these assholes…
You know it's a Period Drama, right ? Unfortunately, it's historically accurate that women were treated like object (and even worst). And what you see here is sugar-coated as already two of them were punished for their misogynistic behavior. If you are really sensible to those behavior I will advise you to stay far away from Period Drama.
On another hand... I think your last sentence was very unnecessary. Shaming others peoples for their tastes just bring you down more than anything.
Her comment gave me ONE SPRING NIGHT vibes. From a Korean POV it makes sense to include it. But from western gaze…
I agree to an extend but not at how she made it. She could have express her worry for the child (not easy when a single parent get a new partner) or if she is ready for that type of relationship (it's a bit unavoidable that the child will be an important of the your partner's life). Also, she could have been worried for both of them as FL isn't the most perfect being either.
But no, she just straight up said: "You shouldn't date him because he has a child. You deserve better, a "normal" relationship". It isn't what a friend with both of them would say.
But like again, it's maybe a Korean thing that single parent are still stigmatized.
most prolly because she is about to appear in a censored GL drama~
And... Most of them did get malicious comment (like the actor that played in "Love in the Big City" recently). Korea is a bit behind about LGBT+ inclusion.
