unpopular opinion loved the female not happy with the male lead i feel like the breakup was pretty pointless just to want her back right after they breakup ughhh his redemption arc not good enough for me to like our male lead again .
I wouldn’t classify this as a romance—perhaps a slight romance. But I did not like who the female lead ended up with. In fact, I would have preferred the Shadow Guard protecting the female lead. The prince was equally annoying and could have been a great secondary antagonist.
i don't like our female lead its dragging i feel like the plot was lost i understand being curious about his divorce but if you cant trust him because he was once married to someone else thats highly hypocritical when she is entangled with her ex i feel like our male lead became a rebound
My BL heart in Phoenix Homecoming, episode 2 towards the end—tell me I wasn’t the only one who saw it!!! The chemistry was there. He would absolutely eat in a BL drama.
She literally leveled up 2 levels in yesterday’s episode to Nescent level from Foundation Building and fighting…
My point is not what she went through I understand what direction the script writer / screenplay and director went in i just wish they choose a different route I still feel like more could have been done to make Fate Choose You more thrilling. It has a great concept and plot, and I’ve always loved Ren Jialun’s acting—he brings so much depth to his character. However, compared to dramas like The Blue Whisper (Parts 1 and 2),Shadow Love, A Journey to Love you, My Journey to You, or even The Legend of the Female General or Pursuit of Jade, I find the female lead’s progression lacking.
I really wish her growth had stayed consistently strong. Why poison her over and over again? There are so many other ways they could have developed her character in a more insightful and exciting way without constantly resorting to illness as a plot device. And don’t even get me started on the memory wiping—it’s such a typical wuxia trope used to reset the story and start a new arc. At this point, it feels like a rite of passage for historical dramas. It’s overused, and honestly, it takes away from the originality of the narrative.
Having her fall ill from poisoning every other episode weakens the impact of her character. I love strong female leads, and while not every wuxia or historical drama needs to follow that archetype, this story really had the potential to do so. She has a strong personality and stands up for justice, but it feels like she’s constantly on the losing end. The immortal sects and their disciples come back stronger, wipe out her people, and leave lasting damage—yet she rarely walks away from a fight with a clear victory.
Meanwhile, even though the male lead is supposedly declining in cultivation, he’s rarely shown to be truly harmed in the same way. That imbalance makes the stakes feel uneven. We still have about ten episodes left, so I’m hoping things shift—but so far, it feels like the story isn’t reaching the same level of impact or emotional payoff as those other dramas. But alas as a dramaholic I can only pray they release more dramas like these in the past year my wishes were answered but we'll see crossing my fingers
The fight scenes are so great, but why is the story declining? Like, I wish the female character leveled up and stayed up—why does she die every time she gains some new wisdom? That’s some bullshit. Also, I wish they explored the war demon’s story a little more. It would’ve made for a more interesting storyline if there were hidden secrets behind his origin. Be a villain, but exist in the grey—you know, add some layers. Nothing is truly evil or truly bad.

Thanks so much but unfortunately it seems they have already cut that scene from this site as well found it on youtube and screen recorded just in case but its gone now :(
