if its against work policy then it's not allowed so then yes it's shady. if you want to date then the one of you finds a new company. but people with compromised morals will not see anything wrong with doing things that aren't allowed because they themselves do those things. anyway I'm just telling you the reason she feels awful because I get it because I would also feel the same as her but thats because I hold myself to a high moral standard.and yes I dont think she should have made up those rules she should have not dated him at all,atleast I would not have if it was me,she made it even more shady. and no problem.
