Kinda hate Deng Lun for letting greed destroy his own career.
Oh please, greed? If you’re a multimillionaire celebrity and you’re not doing a bit of tax evasion, what are you even doing? I assure you every superstar in Chinese entertainment is doing the same thing he did; he was just unlucky enough to get caught, either through his accountants’ incompetence or because he annoyed someone important, and we were unlucky that it happened right before this drama was supposed to come out and not after.

Thank God Poom has two brain cells to rub together and realises inserting himself between Fah and Petch would just make everybody unhappy because those two were getting on my last nerve.

The family feud angst that's coming up is going to be so much less annoying than the stupid love triangle angst.

Title Perfect Crime Spoiler
The last 2-3 episodes hit EVERY terrible jdrama cliche, from the SML being a manipulative psychopath and everyone talking about how that just proves how much he loves the FL, to the male characters tossing the FL back and forth like a piece of meat based on who can "make her happy" without asking her about her feelings once, to the FL not speaking up to voice her opinion even when that's literally all she needed to do to get her happy ending, to all the evil characters who spent the entire drama making the leads miserable getting redeemed in the last 20 minutes, etc. etc. etc.

Ono-san was one of the biggest weirdos I've seen in a drama in a long time and Kaori should have told him to keep his nose out of her business at the very beginning when he started pulling her aside to lecture her about her sex life and tell her shit that only hurt her to hear, BEFORE he started ruthlessly sabotaging her relationship and her job, monopolizing her time, and screaming at her about how he deserves her so much more than the ML. (She didn't tell him to fuck off after that either, by the way. The narrative framed all of that as him trying to protect her happiness and stop her from getting hurt, if you're wondering.) The fact the last two episodes were mostly about him and the leads wouldn't have gotten together at the end if not for the classic jdrama move of the pointless SML no one cares about reluctantly allowing the FL to choose the man she actually loves after he got tired of gaslighting his love rival and pressuring her to choose him instead left me sour on the whole show.

Just once I'd like to watch a romantic jdrama that doesn't go from a 6 or 7/10 down to 2/10 in the last episodes.

the plot described above has nothing to do with the novel, i Hope the serie follow the novel
It doesn’t seem to match the teaser clips I’ve seen either… Does anyone know what the story is actually about?

The FL is weak, indecisive, immature, self-absorbed and incompetent, the ML is your typical perfect emotionless secretly devoted mega successful flawless zero-personality math genius icicle non-character, he treats the FL like she’s an annoying child (which is how she acts, granted, but I don’t find the dynamic between a disappointed father and his stupid daughter sexy or romantic), the actor playing him has zero talent or charm, the dialogue and the screenplay in general are childish and cliched, and the direction is bad (overuse of flashbacks, breaks the 4th wall too often, unclear transitions between timelines, there are whole characters and subplots, as well as countless infodump “conversations,” that are transparently only there to provide commentary on the main couple’s relationship, etc.).

China makes this exact same drama about an annoying, unremarkable girl and the perfect, emotionally constipated guy she puts on a pedestal who’s inexplicably in love with her but acts like he hates her 10 times a year and it objectively sucks almost every time. I have no idea why people have convinced themselves this version of it is good, but the difference between how fans talk about it and what it actually is shocked me.

I think his girlfriend should give him time to spend with his daughter instead tbh.. Like he just found out about…
I totally agree and think that will be a source of tension between them. “I wanna be her mom” tf, you sound crazy, step back! Let the actual parent come to terms with his child's existence and get to know her first.

I think the reason she rushed into it is that she regrets her past abortion and sees Umi as a potential replacement for her unborn child, who would have been the same age. I feel sorry for her and I’m not saying she can’t grow to love Umi from this starting point, but she needs to address her unresolved trauma for her own sake and to avoid suffocating/pressuring Natsu.

What's so wrong in pairing him with older actress??? Besides, even if he's paired with actress on his age, it's…
They look like his aunts and don’t “match his performance and vibes,” that’s what’s wrong.

XHZ is very talented, so I have high expectations for this duo.

This show is entertaining, but I just can't buy into the premise... Fah's mom is certified cuckoo, so why is Fah listening to her? The easiest thing in the world is to convince an emotionally unstable, delusional person that when you're out of the house during the day, you're doing the crazy things they're telling you to do (as long as you don't act suspiciously to trigger their paranoia, of course)... Keep repeating "sure, mom, I met the guy you want me to seduce, I went out for lunch with him, he loves me, he wants to marry me, I ruined his engagement, here is a vial of his blood for you, the Juthatheps are all evil and I've planted a bomb in the office" etc. etc. for 3 months until you can get your mother on the good meds, and date Petch in the meantime? Why is this so complicated?

It would be such a good show if they cut some stuff about the FL. It’s ok to use some moron like personality…
I take it you've watched 5 kdramas max if you think she's "one of the most stupid [sic] female characters in the kdrama history"... Also she does plenty of things well? She definitely has her strong points.

?I thought this is supposed to be a new fantasy drug. From the very first moment, it was clear to me this is not…
The drug is not real, but somehow everything about how people interact with it aligns with the conservative view of addiction as a personal moral failing.

Eh, i think you’re reaching for things that weren’t the case here, and i heavily doubt you experienced addiction…
I’ll break it down for you in simple terms before I peace out: inaccuracy in fiction is bad when it’s presented as true to life (this isn’t a fantasy drama) and it’s even worse when it serves to advance reactionary political beliefs (like the conservative myths that all drug users have zero impulse control, pose a physical danger to themselves and others and cannot participate in society because they prioritize getting their next fix over anything else at all times, or that just one hit is enough to override a person's free will and turn them into a powerless addict) on which South Korea’s hardline conservatives are basing their ongoing war on drugs to distract the electorate from their rampant corruption and many policy failures.

Please don’t respond with another long essay misunderstanding my point because I’m not going to read it.

It is a shortcoming because it reflects common misconceptions about drugs and more importantly addicts in Korean society, not the writer’s creative vision. The show perpetuates dehumanizing stereotypes and myths about how addiction works. The lack of realism is harmful.

Also everything you said to discredit my opinion was wrong.

I'm on episode 3 and the show is pretty decent, but I turn my brain off any time someone is supposedly on drugs because that's just not how it works whatsoever. Like, totally hooked on an opiate after you try it once even though you don't remember any of it? Rather unlikely, but OK. People running into traffic for a pill? Not really. Junkies gaining zombie strength and reflexes and attacking a police detective while in detention for a pill? Absolutely not. The high lasts a week? Give me a break! Koreans really don't know shit about hard drugs lol
