@chickwifey…you read my mind on that load of crap GR mom was spewing on the Shen family. No real tears were…
My feeling is that EH never really embraced JA and her family. They're more like a curiosity to him, more than anything else...He lacks EA's memories of their Mom, so it's a foreign concept to him. Plus, let's face it, he's a Mama's Boy for the chicken fryer. He recently told someone (ES?) that SW was more of a stranger to him than a brother. It's kind of odd, both of those guys only had sisters (as do I) and I'd have jumped at the chance to have a brother as a relative. But SW is such a reserved person, and EH isn't very outgoing either, so there's that. Maybe they are still wary of each other?
Whats up with EH’s facial hair and mussed up hair lately? I feel they are trying to make him look tougher. I…
I haven't noticed any facial hair....but they did trim the sides of his head but left the top long....looks odd to me. Almost a military "Whitewall" haircut.
I just did a sneak peek of the preview and sure enough, she's gonna run into JA while she's w. EH (unless this was a tease). The truth eventually had to come out.
No, she's still clueless. And I guess he's just been afraid to tell her because she might get so embarrassed that he's SW's half-brother that she might leave him.
I think HY’s mom was probably one of the many women that her dad divorced, but I don’t believe it has ever…
It makes me wonder why she was left with her Dad and her Mom abandoned her? This would explain a lot of why she's been so troubled over the years.
This is my biggest complaint about this show: the crappy job of explaining the character's backstories despite having 120 episodes to do that. I'll address that when I do my review.
Yup, he's still hiding the fact he has a bio mom from her. He KNOWS SW was her crush, and that JA is thier mom. And she told him that SWs mom tried to get them together. So he's been avoiding telling her this....She has no idea about EH/SW connection.
This whole drama is filled with nasty hateful people. Besides GR, SW and maybe MG on occasion, there isn’t a…
I've decided, when this one ends, I'm going to watch Once Again as a daily...since it's 100 episodes, it should fit the gap nicely until the fall daily is ready next September. And it seems to be highly rated too.
Whatever happened to HY's mom? Was it ever explained? I remember many episodes ago that she got angry with her dad and went off on how he kept dating/marrying women and she wound up with a sister in law who was old enough to be her mom.
I wish the series could have been done with the same touch as the opening shot (which was yesterday's close). Just subtle little camera shots to set up the scene: Their cellphones were not plugged into the charger (they were either in too much of a hurry to get to bed, or too drunk to figure it out), the robes hanging showed they were in a nice hotel, and not some dive, the window shade open let us know it was morning. And above all, her purse, with it's mouth zippered shut, saying nothing, but watching everything.
I'll say it again: that was cinematography worthy of a Netflix prime-time drama, not some KBS daily.
And I know I'm in the minority, but I was never feeling the SW/ES pairing. It seemed forced to me and unlikely. I'd rather see him hook up with the old friend/investment chick. ES is a much better match for her ex co-worker Jae Joon. They would make a nice couple, without the awkwardness of the director/actress angle of the ES/SW relationship.
The last five minutes of this ep left me speechless. I couldn't believe I was watching the same crappy series because that whole scene, especially from the head-butt to the end was hilarious and so clever, especially with the shots of the purse and it's facial expression! Plus the pan shot of the robes and the open drapes. I felt like I was watching a prime-time K-drama instead of this mundane low-budget series. Even the shot of them facing each other in bed was terrific. WHERE DID THIS COME FROM????
If the director had this in him, why wait til now? The same for the writers. The inconsistency of this series is epic.
EH, take note: If you ever want to turn on your woman, just head-butt her.
The only 'good' thing I can think of was that GRs Mom appeared in just regular street clothes. I was sick of that same type of character in AOME returning all dolled-up in designer wear. GR's mom just appears to be a normal working-class woman. Bigger Picture: What are they going to do with her for another 30 episodes? She's a "one-trick pony".
I don’t understand why the writer’s waited until yesterday, episode 90, to bring in a new girl for SW and…
The only thing I can think of is that these 'limited role' characters are only under contract for x-amount of episodes. So the writers need to find a place to fit them in.
The bigger problem for me is still the pacing and consistency of writing quality. I can't figure out how this and AOME got green-lit as a project, without a clear plot line, storyboard, etc for approval by the money people. It just seems to lurch along.
Well, Sher if you're still out there, The Serial Killer has returned! And it WAS him that brought EH/HY together, albeit not in the way I predicted.
I'll admit, that scene in the ER was really good. Although lifted, almost completely from 3 Bold Siblings (which I'm sure lifted theirs from another series).
And, they are handling her redemption arc pretty well. I can live with it. I'm not that crazy about ANOTHER secret romance, but given the point in the series, I guess they don't have a choice. This show is so wierd. The writers CAN be good and clever at times. Why is this show so badly put together?!?!
And finally in Ep 89, they actually came up with a clever, believable and funny line for ES, in the scene at the chicken store with her and EH where he admits he's been chasing HY (which those two really played well off each other in): EH: "Why, you don't like it?" ES: "I'm not sure. I don't love it" (Shakes her head and looks away). CUTE.
This series is filled with Missed Opportunities. Maybe that should have been the title. The potential for a really…
I get that writing for 120 eps is a tough proposition. Bravo My Life is still the gold-standard for me. It's just frustrating that so many of these series have potential that goes untapped because the writers just don't see it and end up writing in cliches. I was going to make a long post about my frustrations with this series, but I've decided to save it for my review after it ends. Oh well.
