Lunkera, you've seen many more kdrama's than I have....have you ever seen a male lead like KS before? Someone that is so weak and passive? Does he fit a type of Male that Korean audiences prefer?

I agree. Beyond the initial premise, when they actually had to flesh it out, they just stumbled along for 50 episodes. Between the poor planning, nonsensical story-lines and illogical plots, it has all the hallmarks of writers who are in over their head. I swear, they are comparing notes with the TRHC writing team which is similarly overwhelmed. What makes this even worse, is their prior effort "Unasked Family" was another 120 ep drama, so they should have figured this out by now.

I've got a feeling that scene was out of sequence. It looks like he was telling her not to take some OTC digestive stuff because he suspected her preggo. Maybe he was the one to get her the EPTs we'll see tomorrow?

It was mentioned that TK has a friend who works in the lab and had them expedite his test. In 3BS it took a couple of days for their tests

I could only hope he was capable of thinking like that (getting a hair sample). But I think we're running out of time for that story to develop.

Loelha, this is so funny! I am laughing because I asked that as I figured they were women and I disliked their portrayal of MEN in this series! LOLOL

It seems to me that they have given us two males here: there's the idealized passive, pushover KS who is soooo nice and willing to sacrifice everything for anyone and then there is the Demonized Rat Dongie who relies on manipulation via lies, intimidation and physical restraint and violence to make his point. Looking for a regular guy who leads his family? GOOD LUCK. The closest is the other JH whom we rarely see interact with his son, and is so distracted by his dream of being a screenwriter that he's not much of an employee, much less chaebol-heir. And let's not forget the boot-licker SS and the dirtbag SD. Oh, well, there is DH...oh wait, he's an ex-con!

I'm not saying that men like KS don't exist. But they spend their lives being used and taken advantage of by everyone in their life. And usually cannot see just how miserable they truly are. This should be a supporting character, not the hero of the show that commands almost all of the show's focus. (I know others may see this differently vis-a-vis his being a victim of abuse his whole life, I'm giving you my perspective as a male).

Well, FINALLY! Allow me to be a bit greedy, but we got the scene I'd been calling for in the last month: HD must apologize to KS for the actions of her daughter!!! THANK GOODNESS. Now, KS, MOVE OUT ASAP!

As we careen towards the series end, the only thing they are dragging their feet on is the Aunty Ding arc: They should have done the EPT a couple of eps ago, not now.

Otherwise, KS finds out the "truth" (always have to use a disclaimer for whatever comes out of SJ's mouth), and so does the rest of the family. But for gosh sakes, KS, when she is telling you about her Other Family back in the US, where is your outraged '"You started a new family??? What about your family here????" Plus, CR, who IS outraged (justifiably, this time) doesn't slap KS, but a wallop with the new suit coat she got him sufficed. And as usual, he did his best rag-doll imitation. This guy.....

The most amusing part was the in-laws all feigning illness when SD walked into the dining room asking why they are all getting tested. That actor seems to be the spark of the show at this point. But if they are all getting tested, HD or YJ stands a better chance than KS, no? Especially YJ? Wonder where they will go with this???

The scene that is stuck in my mind is KS braiding Jenny's hair so gently. When SunJu walked in on them, I was thunderstruck with the thought: What if they DO reconcile and he adopts this girl too??? Why did they show us that, and especially with Jenny saying "He's like Dad".

Everything you said is 100% true. That being said, if JD is a match and can save a life, she should do it. This would make up for a lot of bad karma on her part and she'd always have to live with the fact that she didn't save a life when she could. She's too old now, at 15, that she cannot misunderstand the implications of this. The rest of her life would be filled with 'if only....'

If she is physically capable to do so with little risk, then she should, and take pride in the fact that she helped save a life (whether or not if she finds out it's her half-sister), and not concentrate on her mother's motivations.

This was actually a pretty good episode, they are really keeping it moving.

We can only hope!

I'm wondering if the writers are male or female?

And we wonder why THIS TEAM got another shot at a daily drama????

That must be it, then.

We all see these dramas thru our own prisms based on our biases and life experiences. It fascinates me how we all can see these shows so differently - this was a huge factor in the Its Beautiful Now show forum here, where we had very different reactions to each episode and discussions got kind of heated.

These forums excel at giving us a place to decompress after seeing something that causes us to react to something that either makes us happy/angry/sad, etc. and share our outrage/happiness/grief.

It never fails to amaze me how people can see something and interpret it in so many different ways.

I really liked this episode, excellent pacing and movement.

I'm really kind of mad at JinJu. She convinced him move into that place so he could send her more money for her life in Canada. Another one of HD's daughters that uses men for their own betterment.

Who's house was she in? I thought she was in the Dong's living room, and for some reason she was looking at a sonogram?

Well they sure aren't letting the 'grass' grow under their feet (sorry, I couldn't resist).

And so much for 'secrets' now. Good for JP in knowing that certain things cannot be kept quiet. He's more thoughtful and mature than KS at this point. I won't bother to go into any further on KS, his paralyzed stance in the Chairman's stairwell after MR told him to go away was enough for me.
The 'good news' is that they are keeping him true to his character.
The 'bad news' is that they are keeping him true to his character.

The actress playing SunJu is really good. You could see the gears spinning in her head as she tries to come up with lies and more lies to keep her scheme going.

I can't wait for SooJi to see a box of HDF food back at home and realize who that woman was. She was in full detective-mode today.

Let's see if KS is capable of figuring out SunJu's lies tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm positive we could have easily re-written this to get it back to its original premise. My curiosity is could what we have in terms of already screened footage be edited to make the story better, without having to re-shoot scenes? I should know better, but hope springs eternal.
