I was going to post that too. She is the most confounding character I've ever seen in a Kdrama. At times, she's almost likable, but then reverts to her catty, selfish, snooty, etc ways. It's almost like 2 different writers do her lines and they don't talk to each other. I've given up on her - all she cares about is making sure JP is in line for the throne, and everyone else can stay out of the way.

Yeah, don't blink or you'll miss it. I think we only saw it for about 20 seconds?

That whole scene was so beautifully done and heart-rending, it's a shame they didn't use it as the finale. The cherry on top was TK's walking out of the dr's office with the baby, and seeing YD/BN hugging. Very emotional. It reminds me of what the series once was, and chose to stop being.

I gotta ask:
What are the odds that YD does NOT tell TK about her trip with InOk, after it's over?

(I'm assuming he can't come to her rescue this time, as she wouldn't have had a chance to message him where they were going.)

PS- the title refers to a popular song from my youth that started off "I'm a friendly stranger in a black sedan, won't you hop inside my car?" It came to mind looking at InOk taking YD for her "last ride" in the black Volvo sedan.

I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out what that whole Hee/Uncle scene was about. He KNOWS she had a child...maybe he didn't believe her in retrospect of her scamming ways? The thing is, is THAT his kid? The Fortune Teller said his child would find him. But it also seems the fortune teller has been conveniently forgotten by now.

this show reminds me of the saying "even a broken clock is right twice a day". We get an occasional sliver of entertainment here and there. I threw a lot of shade at Three Bold Siblings for the lack of plot direction, but I'll say this much: Unlike Its Beautiful Now and TRHC, it didn't suddenly change direction 3/4 of the way in.

Ep 38 “I’m a friendly stranger in a black sedan…..”

Now what? The writers try to claw back us back to some semblance of “reality” in the nonsense world they’ve created. But it’s too little, too late and they flop again in the ending scene. However, there were some performances worth remembering:

- Thank goodness for SK. She finally brought some joy and light to the situation. Getting to meet her cousin and hearing TK’s “plans” to register their marriage and adopt sounded good, but I’m with DW on this one: Plans are one thing, where’s the action?.
- InOk’s downward spiral. So all we need now is the obligatory scene of her collapsing on a sidewalk, and waking up in the ER. I wish I could find a pic of the actor, he’s KBS’s Brain Surgeon-designate and if we see him, we’ll know for sure what’s up (he’s played that role in 3 Bold Siblings & Bravo My Life).
- BN welcoming YD to motherhood. THAT was a great scene, maybe one of the best for both characters. Bravo!
-Hee apologizes to Uncle. I’m not really sure what that scene was for? Closure for Uncle? An opportunity to meet his long-lost son? What was the point?
-Granny confession to InOk about her treatment of her & her son. It’s too bad this was cut short by that dirtbag barging into their house. This was going in an interesting direction until then. But why give us anything entertaining?

Oh, and SJ out to destroy the company with help of Mr Missing-Eyelashes? I have news for you, honey: Lynx Golf cannot allow its corporate image to be tarnished on live TV. This is the price your producers paid when they allowed a real-life corporation to be depicted in a Family Drama in consideration of Product Placement. https://lynxgolfusa.com/

I wonder if part of the pitch of this script to KBS was “Hey, in this one, we’ll create two of the most hated villains in Family Drama! Not only are they evil, but I’ll put them in almost every episode! Talk about the ratings!!!!”

Oh, and how sweet to see TK head off to work and saying bye to his family. WHERE’S THE KISS GOODBYE??? C’mon guys, a peck on her cheek would have been fitting here. You just can’t bring yourselves to do it, can you?

Sigh. Whatever, I’m sure they’ll screw up the next episode too. Thanks for tossing us loyal viewers some crumbs until that final scene. I should share everyone’s outrage at it, but it’s just par for the course now.

I wish the writers would go into hiding with BongNim. No one would even bother looking for them……..

I can't really figure out why they are introducing this storyline at this point. Unless it's to send YM back to the USA after SK's parents re-unite?

Wait. WHAT? IO tells JH to take the baby so TK/YD can be together???? The last thing that dirtbag wants is a child to raise on his own! How is YD supposed to react to this??? IO now takes the Delusional Crown from SJ, and the stupidity of the writing of this show takes the cake.

I hope ratings are down.

Well, don't watch TRHC, that's for sure. Hopefully we get some happy news in this one tomorrow.

I am having a hard time accepting, at this point that we all see the obvious - they should get married and lawyer up. Yet, we're supposed to believe this has not occurred to people with college degrees, including a DOCTOR! That plus everything else I bitched about yesterday is making this not compelling anymore. I'm tired of us all being treated like idiots.

Dont stress yourself. the show is not worth it anymore. I've given up - they've blown their chance at redeeming this mess, I think. We've been teleported to the YLAG-world of scriptwriting.

You know, it WOULD be kind of fitting at the end of the series that she IS left alone in that house with her husband, and everyone else has sided with Granny & TK/YD. Heck, maybe even her husband tells her to leave too????

It's gonna be ugly......

Well, this episode looks like a real load of laughs too.

Don't even bother watching. This episode was nothing. Just stupid crap that only exists in Dramaland, and even then, is suspect.

Thank goodness for the Uncle. He's the only one with any brains right now. It pleased me so much when he told off BN in front of the hospital.

Ep 37 - "Mother knows Worst"

Q: So after 70 minutes of airtime, what was really accomplished in this steaming pile of empty calories?

A: Not much.

Sorry, but there are no highs & lows in this one, much less memorable moments. I'm guessing this was just a filler episode that only resolved:
-Uncle knows YD's housemate is Hee
- BN/DW know about YD and the baby and see them
- BN threatens suicide at least twice
- InOk knows YD is back
- DW/YM are back together, still blissfully unaware of the drama in their families (yeah, right).

That was really it, and I'm overstating that some of these were even important points. The problem is this episode has now made the series bordering on the absurd:
- YD is forgiven so instantly? All is good? At least she shows understanding and remorse for what she did wrong.
- JH is breaking into people's homes and getting past hotel security at ease? He's threatening people, and yet no one has even figured to call the cops NOW?
- DW/YM still haven't figured out what is going on? Him, I can understand, but SHE'S got her Master's and was going for her PhD!
-SeJin is STILL working at NX group???

Sigh.
In the end, with all this pointless running in circles, it's one character's mad dash that stands out to me:
Is YD running to TK, or FROM JH?
Once again, theirs is a relationship bound by comfort and emotional attachment. Not of romance or love (at least on her part). She needs him to protect her and her child. Is he almost a father figure to her? Honestly, I'm so fed up, that I don't even care anymore to even bother analyzing it. This wonderful, interesting series has been so blown to bits that I'm here for the morbid curiosity of how they are going to end the series. They blew the chance to set things straight in this episode and didn't.

I don't see how they can 'fix' everything by now in a believable manner -so let's just see the endgame.

Oh, and one last thing. Something is wrong with InOk. The actress doesn't even physically act the same anymore, and I'm beginning to dread what was mentioned here a week ago: She's seriously ill and this will be an excuse for her behavior.
