I think they need to stop demonizing mothers (and esp. MILs) in these series. I can't think of a Kdrama I've seen where the Mom was a kind, caring person. The only one I can think of is InOk V1.0. But after her mandatory software update, InOk V2.0 is just another screaming tyrant. How about more series where adoption is seen as a noble thing, single parenting is not stigmatized, etc. The government really needs to think about solutions to the problem beyond expanding the work-week to give employees the chance to accumulate OT to take as leave later.

Look, I don't know what the solutions are, I'm just a retired American. But I know you don't go fanning the flames of the problem to make it go away.

Maybe a TV series where family is defined by thinking beyond bloodlines and more by the love they share? Oh, wait they tried that here. And that's going REALLY WELL.

After reading BT's summary I don't think I'll watch the episode... On twitter there are photos and videos of the…
I can say this much: 36 is infinitely more watchable than the last 2 episodes, but that aint saying much. And I did FF thru anything with the creeps in it. This one didn't upset me like the last 3 did. I'm not sure what I'd put down for highs and lows, but the leads interaction was believable (for a change). I'll come up with something later on. I need to digest this one a bit. Right now, there was only 1 high, and that was from Hee, of all people!

As i said in my summary tho. I still do need to see YD to step up for TK. Like, a lot. Best way doing so would…
To us, this seems obvious and logical. On the other hand we've also been screaming for: Protection Orders, Police, Lawyers, Marriage Registration, firing SJ, etc. The braintrust behind this show has tossed logic to the wind, however.

Of course, but I can't imagine him ever doing that about anything. She runs that house with an iron fist. But he's so clueless about everything, who knows? His stupidity is boundless.

OK I'm awake enough to watch the YT clips and previews. I'm not ready to toss DW under the bus yet, he may have had no choice if BN ordered him to bring the baby. We'll see.

With SK's birthrate sinking, and young women declining to have kids, why does KBS broadcast crap like parents dragging their fully-grown children home over child-raising issues? What kind of image is a public-broadcasting network trying to project? Between that an their repeated depiction of hard-studying young people continually losing out to get a job, I really question KBS's direction at times.

Who would have thought that this show would be my safe refuge from THRC's stupidity?
when they screwed up Its Beautiful Now, I was so deep in it I couldn't give it up and only watched for my favorite couple, who were reduced to a minor role. I'll do the same for the youngest couple on THRC, until they screw up their storyline. And frankly, the only reason I like them is that YM reminds me of someone I used to know years ago.

Dropped. After seeing the previews for 37 I am done. BN dragging that girl out of there while DW takes the baby…
If they really pull that crap, I'll be in it for the youngest couple only. TK/YD/SJ/JH go to the FF zone.

When the entertainment value of the comments section on MDL > the actual show, something is wrong.

if BN got convinced by that useless human to let him have OYD then she is a stupid idiot. what’s their issue?…
I really wouldn't mind that storyline. They BOTH need to get away from their families. He's already emotionally-distanced himself from them. Make it physical too. I'm sure there are lots of town in SK that can use a talented OBGYN, he just needs to drop the fertility specialist thing and go back to the basics. She can teach anywhere. This is one of the few ways they can salvage their relationship believably for me.

OMGAfter today I don't see what they could possibly write to redeem TK's mother. She's gone from being terrible…
Put me in the "new writer" category, I absolutely agree with Angelwg. This has all the feeling of a quick change and replacement with a scratch-team of writers that has no investment with the origins of the series and is relying on a bunch of tropes (which were openly disdained by the original writer) to get them across the finish line. I mentioned after ep31 that the show had a different feel to it.
That, or the producers put a bunch of money in front of the writer and said, "Hey! We want it to go THIS way instead".

There is just no way, NO WAY that this can be the same writer that gave us episodes one through 32
Oh gosh no! If that happens, then there is no doubt in my mind they've switched writers, and the new team has no idea what they're doing, so they fall on all these dumb old tropes that the original writer made fun of so much.

Title The Real Has Come! Spoiler
It's 5am here, and the only thing good about being awake now is that I can open up the house for the cool pre-dawn air. Forgive my bleary-eyed typing as I sit here blinded by the monitor's glare...I wanted to get this down while it's fresh in my mind. I can't wait for this series to end.

Ep35 - An Affair to Forget

The 1000 monkeys at their 1000 typewriters have given us a pile of disjointed garbage to follow on to last weekend's disaster. The show is now more of a series of vignettes for each couple, with little crossover of characters between them (SJ, Granny are the exceptions). Oh, they did do a nice job in altering some of the cast's appearance to make it appear a year has passed by. So, here's how I see it:

TK/YD - If this was to be AJH's comeback series to show he still be a force as an actor, he's passed the test with flying colors. TK is the only relatable character here and his ability to portray a range of emotions without saying a word is impressive if not amazing. After she initially leaves post-diaper changing his shock -> confusion -> anger at wasting a year of his life carrying the torch for her was exactly what I wanted to see. And I appreciated his somewhat-distanced caring for Haneul while he was babysitting - we didn't have to witness him acting like the loving father he was supposed to be. His caution was appreciated. We had to wait about 3/4 of the show in, for him to finally get his chance to tell her off so she can try to understand the harm she's done. I can't tell if it sinks in or not, as she is cold beyond belief, at least she admits that she only thought of herself/Real. This from the woman he reminds her vowed to stay by his side forever. Nothing further to be said here, it's been well covered already in the comments below. She failed to redeem herself, IMO. Give her up TK. She never really loved you, or understands what love is.

HEE - who cares? Even your kid knows you're a pathological liar. And FWIW, why is that kid in the hospital? Another failure by the production staff to show us some physical manifestation of something we're to believe in (like the lack of belly on a pregnant woman). We are just to believe this child is chronically sick, because they said so. At least put him in a wheelchair, have him carry an IV bag, SOMETHING.

CM/SJ - The only kind person in that house (isn't that something?), SJ still cares for YD, and has sublimated her desire for children by reaching out to hospitalized kids. She's the link between YD/TK and Granny.

HW/JM - She's back to her old, cold ways. The workaholic mom and her inability to connect with her child and husband is on full display. Calling Pharmacist Han!!! Get her to the bullpen to warm up. I have a feeling she and Aerum will return.

DW/YM - The most isolated couple of all and this must be if we are to believe that they have no idea of how what's happening with their families affects them. So DW finally gets a job, Yay! YM is as sexually-frustrated as ever, too. And as I predicted weeks ago, it looks like SK's mom finally appears (this was foreshadowed way back when SK told YM she knew her Dad was lying about her mom being dead). There's only one reason why his cold-hearted/rude woman is here: She'll shakedown the couple for some Gong $$$ to back away, once she finds out YM's interest in SK &DW is more than YouTube related. And I'll toss out some WILD SPECULATION - Remember how YM ( A doctoral candidate who doesn't believe in birth control [SMH]) kept dodging bullets in her EPTs with Jay? I'll call it - she's another infertile Gong! Thus making her desire to be a mom to SK even more pronounced and the need to pay off SK's mom more important. Remember, they showed us all these things for a reason: connect the dots. (Maybe I should change my handle to "LA CONSPIRACY THEORIST"?)

InOk- Still in denial that she was in love with YD, she has yet to realize that her spurned love has destroyed her son. At last she is beginning to admit it's all about her. I should feel sorry for her, but they've made her so contemptible it's impossible.

Well, that's it. The predawn gloom is giving way to sunrise and a pleasant breeze is coming in thru the office window here at home. I've vented my spleen, I guess. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but that's all I can think of for now. Ep35 was a missed opportunity, save for the very last scene with Granny. Will she lay the foundation for a reunion of our main couple? Hope springs eternal, but with a writing staff this hopeless, only the most ardent believer can remain optimistic.

It's funny.......This review is obsolete even before I press POST, as 36 has already been broadcast. But posterity must be served, I guess.

Have a good morning everyone. I'm going back to bed.

She does. The wrong hotel room , drunk leads theory would be a sound one at this point in the (deteriorating)…
they're running out of options to save them as a couple. This may be inevitable if they are going for the happy-ending

Does anybody know whether they've finished filming this series? Wondering if it's still possible for storyline…
Our only hope is that the domestic audience (the only demographic KBS and the sponsors care about) rises up and sends a clear message this needs fixing NOW or else watch your ratings plummet. All we can do is watch and wait.

Today's dilemma... read BT's summary now or wait for the subs on Kocowa? πŸ€”
Summary first. I'll watch the subbed tonight with my pint of ice cream and/or Vodka Collins
