I have a hard time hating on Aunty Ding. She's lived under the Dongs all her life and is as much a victim as MR. Unfortunately, Big Dong won't permit DH to work there and he'll leave (if he already hasn't, to spare Ding any awkwardness because gossip will abound how the bakery has an ex-con working there, and business will prolly dry up.) And once she finds out what JH has been up to, she'll side with MR & DH. I would really like to see Ding and DH leave and open a new bakery elsewhere. I like their Dingy chemistry. and it gets them away from Dong-foolery.
For the record... KBS America just aired Ep 77 tonight. This was the one where the tipster meets SS and KS at HDfoods. In it, there were a couple of clarifications in translation: In the scene where HoSik & KS were talking in the academy hallway and HoSik tells KS to "keep it down, what if jandi hears you?" ORIGINAL RESPONSE - 'Hey, you're worried about that now?" KBS AMERICA - "Now you're (the one) fussing over me?"
Also KBS AMERICA correctly identified the Document handed to KS at the end as a 'suicide note' and NOT "will". Which better explains his alarmed reaction.
OH MY GOD. I just watched the previews again (just love the collar-grabbing) and it occurred to me. you know the punk is gonna say something like "Who are you to interfere?" - what if DH is so angry he blurts out "I'm her FATHER".??????? Could that be tomorrow's cliffhanger ending?????
I have tossed many bricks at the writers of this series, I admit. To be fair, I should also give bouquets when things go right. The scene where DH arrives at the Ok's residence and admires it and is happy MiRae was able to be raised in such a fine house....only to have him hear her being berated and threatened by her grandfather was SUPERB. His crestfallen reaction and stupor afterwards was just done so right. Kudos to Kim Young Ho for his acting in that scene. And the writers for coming up with it.
And the best line in the show: when JanDi says "how could you say that with my GPA?" That made me LOL.
Hope she does. Even if KS trying to tell Chairman what he did wrong. As you said, the damage is done. I do hope…
The last couple years are the toughest. You keep watching the calendar as the days crawl by. I had the pandemic & lockdown to distract me somewhat, plus that delayed my retirement by a year. Keep your eyes on your target, don't get distracted and frustrated by time creeping by. Also, learn all you can about Medicare, as it will drastically change your life, and be sure to budget for its costs in your retirement.
I've burned too many neurons thinking about this weekend's shows. I need a break til Saturday and then we can start this all over again.
That being said, I'm not sure who needs a redemption arc more: The writers for that boondoggle weekend or HW for not being there for his BIL. To rectify that, here is a scene that happens after TK gets told off by Bong Nim, and goes back to the apartment. This is my chance for HW to do the right thing:
Location: TK’s apartment
**HW appears at door TK: why are you here? HW: We need to talk. Actually, I need to talk, you need to listen. Will you let me in?
(cut to them sitting on couches in living room) HW: Hyung, it’s been over a year now. I understand you’re having trouble coming to grips with this…. (TK shifts in his chair, glances away) HW: just hear me out. I know how much she meant to you. For the first time in your life you seemed happy and fulfilled. I’ve never seen such a change in you. We all noticed it. But you’re still in mourning, one year later. It’s time to get on with your life. You need to accept that she left and move on. You have to leave her and the pain behind. I know you’re afraid to remove all these mementos and things around here because you’re afraid of the vacuum it will leave in your heart.
TK: Hyung (pleading)...
HW: Will you listen? You can take some solace in this: You would have been a great husband and father to her child. I’m sure of it. You’ve proven it to all of us. And you know it’s true.
And you can still be one, but to the right woman. Let’s be honest: YeonDoo was a flake. I know that’s harsh, but remember this is the same woman that came into our office demanding an immediate abortion? She was never consistent with anything. Let her and the child go, because who knows how she would have felt 6 months to a year from now? She may have dumped you then, and then how much worse would you feel losing both a wife and child you helped raise? (TK looks at him with alarm)
(HW stands up and touches TK shoulder)
So think about it. Get rid of all this stuff and find another place to live and start anew. Be a husband and father to a woman that deserves you. I’m saying this to you not as your in-law, but as your brother and partner. I’ll see myself out.

I woke up at 3 this morning and while trying to fall back asleep, wrote a really great posting in my head for here about him & her and what to do. Of course, when I woke back up, I've completely forgotten most of it, LOL! Sigh. After 3+ days of thought, I've determined the following and am not going to think about it anymore until Saturday: She is a flake - let her be; He needs to move on and find someone better. Their relationship as is, is not sustainable. Now, we both know that won't happen. I'm really curious to see if the writers can pull a rabbit out of their hat and give us a BELIEVABLE means for them to reunite as a couple. They've got some time left to do it...please don't screw this up and suddenly give us another time jump where everything is hunky-dory!

I wish it was true. I really think her story needs to be settled too. Either she gets married, or gets a job in a big company like she's wanted. I really wonder about the message KBS sends with characters like hers (and DW in THRC) who study hard and really try to get a job and repeatedly fail. That is NOT a message I think is appropriate.
