Fantasy meets Strong Female

I start this review with a disclaimer. The story might be for everyone. For starters, the female lead isn’t a ditz. She doesn’t cry unless her heart is involved. She doesn’t make dumb decisions. She’s also very powerful and feared. At the same time, she is revered as a beauty and a treasure. She even serves as an example to her younger niece. Even though she is strong, I was really glad they didn’t pair her with a weaker guy. All the major contenders for her heart are strong and supportive of her. Though she didn’t end up with the guy we wanted (not exactly), she ended up with the guy she needed to bring out all the characteristics that make her a unique character. The overall story was very a very common thing. A villain and someone trying to keep him in check. I really wish they could have shown more unique plot development. For a main character to be the God of War, there wasn’t enough battle or fight scenes. The side characters are frustrating and it seems that only one pair of people got a true happy ending. I was very happy with the changes in the sequel to some of the side characters.
