Shen ye loves aranya with a love that only when felt is totally understood. Thats why after everything happened... Knowing that she is somewhere in his world, even if hes not part of her world, she is a part of his, because she exists, she isn't nothing, she is something.
And then when he finally realized the painful truth he was unable to accept it, it had been so long since he had given her his all, it was too late to give up, because there was nothing else to live with.
