The background stories of the elders has been good so far, but I don't really like Oksook's. I find it a bit ridiculous, is first love really that important? Important enough to cancel your daughter's wedding? It's in the past, and it's not like they're secret siblings or something. Like, she's ready to sacrifice her daughter's happiness for something that happened decades ago. I get it, it might get awkward. But I think it's easy enough to avoid in-laws. And at her big age, I'd expected Oksook to be mature enough to handle it. The drama made the ex has dementia so Oksook finally, reluctantly, give the marriage her blessing. But what if the ex is of sound mind? What if he remember her and their past? She should've realized herself that that chapter of her life is already over, and it's time for her daughter to have her happiness. I'd appreciate this story line more if Oksook and her ex have an adult conversation about letting go the past and live for the happiness of their children.
I really really hope his next drama don't have wacky schedule again and release on accessible OTT. Enough with The Killing Vote and Dongjae the Good or the Bastard.
Finally Nam Wanseong make a move! At the first few episodes I felt he was too "docile" compared to the way his character was promoted. Begging for favors and just hanging his head, taking it when Seo Dongjae being condescending. But now the drama begin to show just ruthless he can be and make him more interesting villain. Only 4 episodes left, I hope the drama won't disappoint me.
The mother should've brought Habin to psychologist/psychiatrist, especially when she suspected her daughter is not like other kids since young age, added to the trauma caused by the little brother's death.
Maybe not many people share my opinion but I really like the "slowness" of this drama. So far, I've never skipped any scene, even it's just the camera focused on some objects or the characters just staring at each other... I don't know, I kinda find it relaxing haha
As for Jang Taesu's character who's supposed to be this ace profiler but seemed suck while handling this case, I think it's pretty understandable because it's involved his daughter, so he couldn't stay objective. On one side he wanted to help her but on the other side he already distrust her because of their past. So, he fumbled everything. Let's hope he'll get his bearing back in the future episodes.
Also shout-out to the duo profiler, Yeojin and Daehong. Really like their dynamics!
Gotta admit, at first I thought it was simply Habin taking revenge on Mina bc she killed Suhyeon, but it's not! It was more complicated than that! Loved the twist, can't wait for next week!
I was wondering why the drama turned into a makjang, turns out it was Lee Kidong's dream. Everyone is related and they're siblings! He's so silly 😅 And the dream part when Kidong and Segyeong doing some hanky panky in the hospital between their fathers bed is hilarious!
Love it so far! The acting, the pacing, the cinematography. The transitions between scene are *chef kiss, especially from the present to the flashback. Jang Habin is so pretty in a creepy way, reminds me of Junji Ito's characters 😅
So many funny moments in ep 6! Loled when the dog that was raised by cat translates between Sophie and Mong Dol, also the handsome doctor that turned out not so handsome after all 😅🤣
Good news: Lostdome has ripped English subs from tvN Asia and shared it on Subsource.Link: https://subsource.net/subtitles/dongjae-the-good-or-the-bastard-2024/season-1
Huhu I was worried the YOLO club was trying to scam Chaimoo, turns out they're the real deal YOLO, those who can afford such lifestyle. Felt kind sad for him, but I'm glad he didn't get scam 😅 And Lee Ki Dong is so cute! I wish he has more screen time, but I understand he's a supporting character...
Don't get me wrong. I like this drama. The acting, the chemistry, the romance, the comedy, even the ost (sang by our very own Lee Sangyi) is all good, very good. But, I'm a bit disappointed because the male lead is not Gyuhyun, but Kang Hajun. Yes, I know the premise is Jayeon got isekai-ed into her own novel. But I thought that part would not take the whole drama and we'll get more interactions between Jayeon and Gyuhyun. So, the romance, no matter how good it was, I saw it was between Jayeon and KHJ (although they have the same face, KHJ is not Gyuhyun) and that made me couldn't really get into it. And it seems like because of this "dream", she got a bit soft hearted towards Gyuhyun when at the time, she didn't know him beside as the Hater. And, although Gyuhyun keeps proving himself to be worthy of her love in NGNL, it just doesn't sit right with me.
I think the concept will be fun if it was a stand alone fantasy romance drama between the Author and the Character she wrote that gain awareness that he's a character like KHJ did.
Well, in a way, I'm glad to see Han Jihyun and Lee Sangyi again, I hope they'll do more projects together again in the future.
I rewatch their date in NGNL so many times haha Love Lee Sangyi and Han Jihyun natural acting and amazing chemistry! Can't wait to see them in the spin-off!

Except for the "murder" part, it was kinda sad...
