The guy was working like any normal person, but was also blamed for the death of their kid. I think Chen Ting disliked the fact that she stopped working cause of Yun, and then Yun died and her husband continued working. Something along those lines (I'm at 3rd ep)
And Ziqiu's mother? She left to the countryside, took money from Haichao and left her kid with him for 10 whole years. The boy was so abandoned, even while living with his mother, that on the first day he called Haichao 'father'. Poor kid, but he was so adorable that I was squirming.
