I’ve binge watched all six episodes that are out and I’m smitten. Witty, beautiful scenery - it really feels like a Jane Austen novel transposed into some historic Chinese setting. I had high hopes and they weren’t disappointed. ML has indeed a thousand faces and FL fierceness and vulnerability - great actors, and great roles to display theist skills. Lovin’ it.

The point is that he could just have given them a hint, instead of letting them deliver the letter without thur crucial info from him. Nobody needed to feel out of the loop, and if FL by chance had broken her neck or whatever, the other servant could still have been able to deliver.
Not indicating the letter content (it’s about smuggling, stupid), and leaving it all up to FL’ ingenuity, which hopefully will strike again, serves no rational purpose but as a plot device.

But no, FL had to figure it out all by herself and “bluff”. Does ML take this for some kind of EXIT game ?!? 😂
