I still like the story, but in EP 15 the mine thing happened way too fast. It was confusing. Did they just decide to cut 20 min chunk out, storyline be damned, or what was that?!?

All things considered, she doesn’t deserve the Eagle Lord he’s actually to good for her. There, I said it.

Do we know he actually did all that? I mean, he was intentionally offensive all the time to torpedo peace talks, so… who knows how much of it was empty ‘bragging’.

Right? And the way he goes on his knees Ep 12. A couple of such scenes going forward and l’m going to start rooting for him. 😂

So far the ONLY historic c-drama that I have ever rewatched, most I don’t even finish. (And I’ve rewatched WOL repeatedly.) Historic c-dramas are just not my thing, women’s roles are often too girlie for my taste, or too confined and limited in their choices (that is why I never rewatched Yanxi Palace, even though it was really good, too). Except for WOL. Lovin’ it.

Okay, I hear you :-( Though some of it might have been offensive posturing to wreck the peace talks. But yeah, I believe some bad actions were shown on screen…

My prediction is the Eagle King has truly fallen for Li Le Jun and he might even genuinely win her over at some point, I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns into an ally down the road. He is dark, but I don’t think he is irredeemable. Or am I being crazy?

I’m at episode 12, and I really like the storyline so far. (Which says a lot, as I don’t like historic c-dramas with the sole, huge exception of WOL, which plays in a league of its own imo.) I really wonder about the future of the Eagle King:

Having seen 800 metres, even if all we see of Xu Kai is the scences in the trailer, I‘m confident he can still carry this drama singlehandedly. 😂

EP 15: Not trying to minimize things, but this was not premeditaed murder. It was in the heat of the moment (like voluntary manslaughter.) Just sayin.

That‘s pretty ‚small‘ thinking. If a project succeeds artistically - as this did - it will build your artist‘s brand and the agency‘s with it, if it is supportive. It is Like a lawyer taking on a high profile case pro-bono. They do it for prestige and ‚fame‘ not for money (though that usually also pays in the long run).

Wait, Xu Kai‘s Agency did not get him this role and didn‘t support him when he got it himself? Why?!?

Exactly. Instead of confronting him about his suspicion and fears, he tried to CATCH his own son and got all sneaky! I deplore this character.

I‘ll have to wait for the last 5 episodes but - as avid spoiler reader - already know the ending. Sad but look forward to the acting, which has been top notch so far. Also, on a general level, in such a case the death penalty is seriously over the top. Chen Hui would have all the potential to reform himself, if given the opportunity. (Sadly in effect it will also be the death penalty for her, as she won‘t have a chance for treatment and a transplant now).

Well, Songge knew he chose that path only for her. So, a hard NO should have been her answer. She definitely deserves some blame.

I wonder whether there will be a resolution to the death of the father‘s former fiance, and how that will tie into the story. Whatever the case, I believe that past made Dad detached from his family and son. And the resulting strained relationship and lack of trust contributed to Chen Hui‘s downfall.
