I don't have an issue with ALP as a drama. I have an issue with the producer, who has been very unprofessional last year on her other project. It's great if you love ALP, I just watched 8 episodes and then I took a pause because I have a difficult time watching Xianxia in general.
My worries for this is basically that I find it strange that they would make a sequel of a drama that did not receive raving reviews in China.
I also believe that neither Xu kai or Zhou Dongyu will be involved in this project, as they are both very high profile actors and probably busy filming other projects where they are leads.

They've changed the age difference so there is just 3 years now.

There are pros and cons in every relationship so xD Life would have been easier in certain ways with LY but not in other ways.

I was just really annoyed with the emperor saying that I am beating him because of you. Yes it was a plot to get her to admit that she really loved LBY. But a woman in a relationship is not to blame for the actions a man take on his own. Works the other way as well ofc. But that really annoyed me.

I feel like they added it so that that the viewers would also sympathize with her and not just LBY feeling disappointing in her for not relying on him. I also find it better that it was her thinking it and not saying it out loud, since we think more stuff rather then talk to ourselves mostly.

I don't hate him but he does not practice what he preach. I think that after his revenge is done he will be much better since that is the biggest boulder on his shoulder. But yeah I dislike the way he uses emotional manipulation.

So one of the reasons LBY made such a big fuss was that he wanted an excuse to enter one of the ministries to retrieve evidence to use against Marquis Yue. Since he "broke" things he was ordered to renovate the ministry building and used this time to steal the things he wanted.
Ofc he also wanted revenge for them hurting SS but this was also a reason.

I am actually quite happy because at first I thought we would have like 20 episodes of separation xD I think the director will have made the last part well though since he is so dedicated so I am not too worried.

Which is why I was so pleased part 2 was released immediately after. Would have been difficult to wait otherwise.

It depends on what your cup of tea is. This is a slow burn drama which focuses mostly on Shao Shangs journey coming of age. It is not a drama that has the main leads together in almost every scene, but instead it focuses on the whole ensemble of casts.
If you like characters that are not one dimensional and has flaws this is great.
