Four Gentlemen:

"The 'gentlemen' in this drama means a man with good-looking, good character, high society status, knowledgeable, talented and overall good reputation in society.

The 'Four Gentlemen' are ranked as Yu Wuyuan, Feng Lanxi, Huang Chao, Hei Fengxi. So the ML occupies two seats with his two identities.

In the novel, they have titles to describe their characteristic, which is 'Yu He, Lan Ying, Huang Ao, Xi Ya' ( 玉和、兰隐、皇傲、息雅) -- One word from the name combined with one word presents his characteristic. These word groups mean 'Yu Wuyuan is mild, Feng Lanxi is secretive. Huang Chao is proud, Hei Fengxi is elegant'. The drama exchanges the titles of ML's two names.

Lan Xi hides his martial arts skills, but he doesn't hide his talent of literature and floriculture. In the novel, he is famous for cultivating different breeds of orchid. Some of the orchids are very rare and expensive. He even cultivates a unique orchid for FL, which has one black flower and one white flower from the same root."

She likes that he is smart and elegant, but not a prince so she eventually rule her own kingdom. She wants a political marriage that is an advantage for her. She is introduced to his Hei Feng Xi persona, and not the prince one first.

Depends on what you mean as foe really. Is she the greatest evil in this plot? No xD But she is ambitious so she will do what she can to get what she wants. Which is to rule.

Depends on what your after in a drama :)

Do you like looking at people with good looks?
Do you like fast fight scenes with flying and not your typical sword fighting?
Do you enjoy palace politics that are solved quite quickly?
Do you like a strong female and male lead who are both very smart?

If you like these things then yes it is a good drama :)

Hello! Mark this as spoiler thanks :) it is only Huang Chao confessing to BFX. The scene before that is Chun Rans competition to find a husband. Chun Ran asked for BFX to test the men, which is why BFX is wearing Chun rans clothes.

She is not evil :) She just wants to rule because she is smarter then her brothers.

She is not part of a sect in the novel so if it is true it must be something new.

The novel is really nice and it's is also good if you want to see more of BFX being cool and a good leader.

Idk how many tags drama usually have but maybe they think there should only be a certain amount?

Yeah they were friendly. She has no clue who BFX really is :) In the novel the brother is dead but yeah it would have been funny :)

None of this political stuff about Lanxi is in the novel so this is all new. The novel mainly focuses on BFX and her journey. Lanxi is accompanying her more rather then the other way around. And there is a lot more war in there.

Chun Ran is about to pick HFX as consort at the banquet, but he gets up to leave before she can choose him and he goes to BFX instead. This happens really early in the novel though and they are not as lovey dovey in there. But he gives up someone he can use to help him get more power in the world for BFX so that is a a nice thing :)

In the novel he arrives in town as Hei Feng Xi. He and BFX spends some time with Chun Ran before the competition and she has basically already chosen him to be her consort. So she basically lets him skip the competition there.

I really like that they have at least kept this part of the novel, that BFX gets along with the other women. It's one of the things that bother me the most is when the FL basically never has any female friends.
