They aren't though. Almost no drama air everyday day. A low budget drama called Chase the truth aired each day. But bigger dramas, such as this one, they will want to air it for a longer time to keep their viewers subscribing and let their investors earn more. It's not like a Netflix drama that drops 8 episodes in the same day.
Kdrama air twice a week. Cdrama usually 4-5 depending on the network.

It's always just the first week they air for more then 4 days, it's the same with all dramas. Not sure why they have decided to just air 1 ep at Sunday though. Youku started doing the same thing this year, some days 2 ep other days 1 even for VIP.

I liked Sun Chen Jun in My journey to you, and currently watching Yang Xizi in Love me love my voice so now I am even more eagerly awaiting this.

It's kind of refreshing to have most of the enemies killed off so quickly for once 😂

For me the pace has been pretty much good, so if you are not sure then I guess maybe watch a few more episodes until they are on their journey and you can see if you find it better.

I see thank you! I was looking forward to the drama when it started filming as the plot sounded interesting, but then I didn't watch as it aired so I haven't gotten as far yet 😅
