similarly, In The Villainess, Sook-hee is given the possibility of a normal life, but her former employers, enemies, and secrets keep dragging her back into violence.

Both films are graphic and violent in nature. they follow the pattern of violent past -> attempt at a new life -> past catches up -> protagonist returns to violence.

both have a enemies to lovers type of theme. both MLs are in some way a superior to to FL. so the enemies to loveres boss/employee types of shows. if you liked one maybe consider the other

Shares the similar themes of the threads over the head. S Line is just a bit darker than Connecting to You. Since S Line is a thriller and Connecting to you is a rom-com. I did feel however that there's this fantasy elements of the lines so if that part of the story was what drew you to one show you might also like the other.

Both shows have the underworld (no pun intended) as the settinng of the shows

when i was watching the first couple of episodes that are out so far The underworld gave me the same vibes as eclipse in the lost city.

The overall vibes where pretty similar with the characters don't initially understand the supernatural rules. Then they encounter the phenomenon themselves and discover that the legend wasn't just a story. To be more specific

With Gonjiam, for example, the livestream setup makes you constantly wonder whether something is being staged. The characters themselves are partly creating fake scares, so when genuinely impossible things start happening, the distinction between performance and reality collapses.

With Haunted Mountains: The Yellow Taboo gets a similar effect through its legend and supernatural encounters. You initially have that feeling of “is this just a story?”, but the further the characters get into it, the more real it becomes.

* Actor Ryan Ren plays the primary love interest in both shows
* The female lead hides who she truly is from Ryan Ren's character. She gets to know the MML under a fake name/alias (marry him in her place) and while working right under his nose (love on the edge of divorce)

If you liked one you might like the other as well since they share those themes of falling in love under the guise of something else, yk the fake love turns real and hidden identity love. Or if you liked the MML

SO first of i would say that theres a theme of how Love is framed as an addiction, in both films.
Then theres the way that theres a control over the "subject" i.e how BDSM is used or how the Camera is a tool of voyeurism.
They are also both VERT explicit BLs. Its more soft-porn than anything else IMO.

* Both movies have the main characters be assassins/contract killers.
* Both movies main characters are women who are powerful badasses.
* Both movies are action packed.
* The films undercut the glamour of being an assassin by showing the ordinary life that they also live. Kill Bok Soon its by showing how she is raising a teen daugther, and in Baby Assassins its showing two fresh out of high school students needing their first jobs.

One is Japanese and the other is Korean so they do have that as a diufference
Kill Bok Soon is more focused on morale and drama very plot driven where Baby Assassin is more comedy and character driven

Both are horror/thriller dramas where theres loads of action taking place. Both have elements of the supernatural. They give the same vibes in a way with ofc differences in how the story takes it and the overall settings, but the atmosphere is similar which is why i'm recommending them as similar.
Major Differences:
- One is spirits in the Gwi realm and the other is monstrous beings hunting humans in the real world.
- One is historical the other is apocalyptic.
- Palace setting and apartment complex setting.

The revenge plotline is very similar. Main character looses someone dear to them, and then goes on a line of revenge where theres a lot of gore and blood involved. They both have the whole mafia theme going. All ending in an emotional last episode. If you liked one you will def like the other.
